This is a great video, thank you. That swift is well-built and I like the way you started showing it deconstructed so I can see how it's put together. Love the music, too!

Brilliant! Why wasn't I shown one of these when I was a wee boy and had to hold my arms out for what seemed like hours while my grandmother or mother wound the wool into balls. By the time I was 6 I had arms like Arnie Swartzenisererer.
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

Awesome, space-saving swift design. Would you please consider making a demo for apartment dwellers who have few tools (drill) and no space for woodworking tools, and only have access to home depot and small hardware stores? Pretty please?

I put my boys to work, and they made my swift with your simple to follow instructions. Thank you so much. I wish I could post a picture, because it is beautiful.

Where does one find the simple to follow instructions? Please?

@@debrarodriguezestrada2748 You can have someone who does woodworking figure it out. It’s pretty simple. Actually, if you look up Stanwood Amish swifts online, you can take the measurements to make your own.

I'm in the process of making this. What are the dimensions of the arms and spacing of the holes? Thank you.

    Hello!
How could I make one of these? I no longer work outside of home and am beginning to spin and weave for extra money. How did you do this? Can you share?

AAAAhhh! You have tools I don't have ready access to and...do not know how to use. I would have to have someone make this item for me as, as it goes, I have been refused by woodworker in this area. I asked to have a spinning wheel made for me from plans purchased years ago and was looked at as if I were crazy. I have a floor loom that needs extra parts and asked a woodworker to make them for me and got the same reaction and was also told, rather rudely..NO.
So, I guess I will do what I have done all my life it seems. Learn to do it myself.
      Thanks!

What is being put in the center of the base before assembly? Looks like bearing of some sort. What size is the part? Thank you. Love this design.

Joe Fisher Thank you. Your video is by far the most affordable and easy to make that I've seen. Posted it to my knitting group 🙂
