Push-Pull control cables are mechanical cable assemblies that are used to transmit motion and force from a distance. A push-pull control cable assembly, also known as a control cable assembly, directs motion by pushing and/or pulling on such components as a choke in your lawnmower, for instance, or perhaps a vertical stabilizer in aircraft.
Push-Pull control cables are complex mechanical cable assemblies that comprise a solid core wire or stranded cable, along with one or more mating components located at each end of the push-pull assembly, as well as a conduit to eliminate the risk of backlash or buckling, two unwanted events that occur when the conduit and cable are incompatible.
In this video, design engineer Kyle Bartosik introduces you to the fundamental mechanical properties, benefits, and challenges of producing and deploying the right push-pull cable assembly in your motion control system.

How do you adjust a telescoping push pull has a 3" travel. I am guessing where the 2 nuts clamp to mounting bracket before the telescoping tip? If its slacking should you pull the cable further from the part you are trying to Engauge? the front most nut being et the end of the threads and having all the threads behind the 2 nuts? Or the very tip solid 4mm rod thats threaded and connects the clevis bracket?
