OHHHHH my GAWD! My stitching story is that I just picked up the needle after about 20 years and that I was proud that two of my finishes are still on the walls of the friends I gifted them to. Could NEVER remember who the designer was....you held up the Paula Vaughan book and I almost fell off my chair. February and August are the ones I finished and framed. Thank you for helping me add more details to my story. :).
This is the first time I have watched your floss tube and I loved it. You are so exciting and upbeat - keeping things moving. Who cares that we like to have New Starts all the time. That is the fun of cross stitching. I want to taste it all before I fade away. Thanks again for the fun.
Let me tell you, you will LOVE stitching with Roxy Floss Co. Floss...it is gorgeous!! Give it a shot.....you will NOT be disappointed. Garden.....watch out for the ticks!!
I have just found you. Love your excitement and had to laugh. Children raised, work and SO many projects and plans. I laugh because my children and a few of their children are raised, I no longer "work" BUT at 72, I've been buying patterns😢, thread, fabrics and making plans like I'm immortal. IT'S WONDERFUL‼️ THANK YOU❤
I feel your pain on getting fabrics online!! I have a pile from 123 Stitch that aren’t quite what I wanted. I will most likely use then…but it can be frustrating! I think the green would look amazing for the winter project…but maybe your Autumn Rules would look nice on it too?! But…I’m a rebel when it comes to fabric choices so I understand you wanting to use the called-for, especially when you’ve wanted to stitch it for so long 😉♥️♥️
I just discovered your channel! Love your enthusiasm for cross stitch. I worked for Leisure Arts as a model/pattern tester in the 80's and 90's. I stitched some of the Paula Vaughn designs as well as lots of other designers. Back in the early days the charts were hand drawn and colored in. They were definitely a challenge to stitch. I have copies of the leaflets, magazines, and books still filling a closet. If there are any other Paula Vaughn charts you are looking for, I might have them. Looking forward to the next video.
So, I’ve been watching Floss Tube and stitching most of the last two day because 1) I have the weekend off and 2) I have a nasty cold so I feel too crappy to be working in the garden. I was excited to hear about a new Canadian FlossTuber named Mrs. Smith, (I’ve now watched ALL of your episodes and thoroughly enjoyed them. ) who lives super close to me! The post box in the US is a genius idea. Any time you want company on a road trip to a not-quite-local needlework store, just say the word!
Oh my goodness!!! Hi!! I am such a huge fan!😂. I am so excited you guys are coming back to Ottawa!! The tickets aren’t for sale yet but I will make sure that I get some!!! Thank you!!
Thank you for introducing us to a new designer in A New Creation Studio. I adore her seasonal band samplers and I might have to add them to my stitch do to list. I especially love the quilts at the bottom of the designs.
Loved your Ellen Reid excitement!! So fun!! I sure get IT!!! 🩷 I think you will find the perfect charts to stitch on the green fabric. It is so much nicer to pick fabric in person, same with floss! Have a most wonderful long weekend and see you next time!! 😊🌞
Another great video! So much good stuff. I might have to look for that Blackbird book. Lots of beautiful charts. And I am thinking of the Summer Camp! The piece of fabric that turned out to be too green - I bet that would be awesome for the Fat Quarter Shop Mystery Halloween stitch!
I’m so glad you were able to get the Paula Vaughan book. Beautiful stitching, I love the strawberry stitch you are doing. It will look fantastic when done. See ya soon.
Enjoyed your flosstube! I just found you. I am pleased to hear from a fellow Canadian. I am a Canadian American living in South Texas for the last 25 years. My husband & I are originally from southern Ontario. Your stitching is beautiful especially the piece you did for your husband. I love 💕 your Granny sweatshirt! I need to have a t-shirt made for myself that that says Nanny. I’ve never seen that name for Grandma. The green fabric you have would be very good for a fall piece or as someone else suggested a Halloween one. I will look forward to your next flosstube.
You will LOVE stitching Autumn Rules and Welcome Autumn. Both were fun stitches! I very much enjoy your flosstube videos and laughed when you were telling the story of Ellen Reid!! I had a question about shipping to your US Post office box - do you end up paying duty when you bring it back home? I'm in Winnipeg, and while the border is only an hour away, I get things shipped to the house but it takes so long and shipping can get expensive. Sometimes I wonder if that's a better way to do things 🤷♀. Thanks for showing us some of your finishes too - they are absolutely beautiful!
So very glad I found your floss tube!! Hello from Hazelton BC. I laughed so hard about Ellen Reid and the Crash test dummies..isn't it so cool that a Canadian rock star is a cross stitcher? I would so love to meet her too. Love your projects and look forward to seeing more videos.
I am always excited to see a new video pop up from you. I enjoy visiting with you so much. Your cabin piece is gorgeous ❤ I can’t even imagine doing something like that. We live in a log cabin so I really love it. Also the Paula Vaughn stitching reminds me of my mom. She always stitched and did several of hers. She passed in January 2022 from Covid
Oh I am so glad the Paula Vaughan booklets found their way to you, what a lovely gift! I cracked up at your story about the Crash Test Dummies, they were pretty big in NZ too! Hope you have a good couple of weeks with more stitching - it’s a shame we have to work to fund our hobby, because the jobs really do get in the way! - take care, Nic x
I am also a Paula Vaughan fan from way back. I have several pieces hanging in my home and also own the Quilts for All Seasons book but haven't stitched one yet. They are always on my to do list. We are planning a summer trip to Niagara Falls and I gather you live fairly close to there. We are anxious to explore this part of the US and it will be our first time in Canada. Thanks for taking the time to make videos. i ENJOY THEM.
I’m stitching out of the winds of autumn book now, while watching your video. I have 2 of them on the go and have all the threads for all the others. I just love the book and they stitch up so lovely. I’m set for the next 12 months just out of one book. It’s fabulous.
I’m in the midst of watching, but have to pop in to say: I understand about having project you really want to finish! I’m going to declare June “Just Finish June” and focus on 2 pieces that are close to a finish!
Another fun and informative video! Love your Granny shirt and the matching upcoming stitch. And WOW to your piece you made for your husband...just beautiful. Thank you for introducing us to New Creation, I went to her Etsy shop and had to stop myself from buying everything. Also, I never knew about Cross Stitch Camp and am considering doing it. Would Peacock Manor count as a bird stitch for June? I'm thinking of doing it on 18 count aida because I can't do anything much smaller than that.
It’s a rainy day here in Massachusetts and I can’t work outside. I’ve been stitching and watching floss tube pretty much all day. I think it was JBW designs who shouted you out and I’m so glad she did. Beautiful stitching. I’ll be going back to watch your first 3 vids. Thank you! Have a great week and holiday off! 😊
Hi! Great to see you again. I got curious about the Paula Vaughn book on the secondary market. Over $150 US. I'll have to keep looking. So fun shopping and buying all the things, and yes, we are immortal. Take care!
Just found you and so enjoyed you sharing. I watched video 3 before this and have a suggestion on the monthly Christmas stitch you want to finish into a pillow. You could continue the candy cane dividing rows along the outside of the entire piece which would add size to the overall project. Look forward to watching your progress on all of your projects. Happy Stitching! Barbara
All the books and pattern that you were gifted brought back memories. The prices on them tell you how old they are. I am join Summer Cross Stitch camp, I have 2 projects picked still need to find something for Aug. I love the September Sampler pattern. I fell in love with it when I got the email for the SAL. I told myself that I will not buy anymore cross stitch because I have so much already but I am really thinking about ordering because my birthday is also in September (the 11th) so this could be my birthday start. Great video and I love what you are stitching.
Well I did it🙄, I ordered it. Can’t wait for it to come in July and to start stitching it in Sept, maybe start on my birthday if I can wait that long🤗🤗🤗
Hey Alana, I am stitching The Mighty Acorn and there is a SAL for that pattern #bbdmightyacornsal. I don't know of a SAL for Autumn Rules, but I have it and am planning to start it in August! Glad you got lots of goodies! I knew Ellen Reid was a singer in some band, but I never knew which one! Very cool! Hope you get to meet her someday! You can get your Strawberry Fields done, maybe try just stitching it first each time you sit down to stitch for like 10- 15 minutes and it will be done very quickly! Happy Stitching!
Hi carolee!!! Thank you so much for the info on the Mighty Acorns SAL! I will join in with that for sure! Starting Autumn Rules in August sounds like a great plan!
Love your strawberry fields sampler. Cute Cute Cute! And the one you did for your husband is awesome! I will have to try the black thread you mentioned. I have trouble with DMC black covering the background if I stitch on a light fabric. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much! I didn’t notice much of a difference with coverage with the anchor. But someone messaged me to say that the Sulky black covers amazing. I haven’t tried that yet though
