Thank you to all of you who commented and watched my video, I really do appreciate the support you guys and gals give me to keep creating these videos. They will keep coming! This wouldn't be possible without your views and support :)
HAY?! i still have a VHS player! if you get them i'll have the tapes!!! you can keep the ultra rare cars i'll happly have the VHS tape! unlike most ppl i'm one of those rare ppl that in this day n age still collects and watches VHS's mostly of my childhood,
Hi wtffor i went on ebay and found a plastic base, redline wheel, black with flames super van you said those are rare it might have a blue interior if you want it let me know its $25
I love your car collection! I have two 18 gallon storage boxes of opened and unopened 55’, 56’ and 57’ Chevy cars. I collect and shop sporadically but your video has encouraged me to shop more on a regular basis. I also have other cars that appeal to me such as VW, trucks, hot rods, construction vehicles, Impala and El Camino. There are various other cars that I bought just because they looked so cool. I started buying cars in the 1970’s for myself. I tried to interest my 5 daughters in cars and they each have a small shoebox full of various cars and trucks. Then when our first grandson arrived in 2002, I started buying cars for him. Now he is 16 and his cars are in the their garage. He played with his cars for many years. My second grandson was not that interested in cars. Now I have a grandson who is almost 2 and I have been buying him cars now and then. I will wait till he is older before I give him the cars. I am a grandmother who likes to collect cars AND vintage Barbies. I figured out that my collecting is based on childhood memories of things I enjoyed. Thank you for sharing. I totally understand why you had to get a line of credit!! Happy hunting and buying.
Wow! My son just turned 1, and we are building his little Collection. He has about 40 cars so far. He loves watching them go through the loops and through the track sets that have lots of turns! This collection of yours is serious! I love it!
Sometimes you see a loser bidding step by step and stopping right when he gets on a par with your leading bid, or just below. Dude pushing you to the max and then freezing. Greed.
There's so much money in these little cars! Over the years, I've seen millions of them at garage sales, flea markets and junk shops. Boxes full of them always for sale for next to nothing. Never gave them a thought until a few days ago when I started watching HW custome, restore and collection videos like this one. Wish I bought them all. I'll probably buy them from now on as long at they're cheap. Might find some gold.
I almost choked when you said the price on the 62 KGW super van! That's more than I paid for my G.I. Joe USS flag. I have the utmost respect for a move like this. And this is why I consider myself a hot wheels hoarder and not a genuine collector like yourself lol...
The U.S.S. Flagg is an amazing toy and collectible... I would love to collect more GI Joe and related vehicles, but I simply couldn't afford it. Do you have a video uploaded of your Flagg? I would love to see it.
wtffor What state are you in? I have a collection, only about 400 cars, but I'm looking to sell it now. I would think that there's something in there that would be of interest to you.
Being born in 71 I had a lot of these hot wheels and just seeing your video was a time travel for me, I wish I had kept them....my favorite was my black Pontiac Trans Am and my all chrome colored Chevy Corvette. Thanks for making such great videos.
Hi! Sir you have and amazing collection and passion for what you do!! Congratulations on your new finds..I have been looking on Ebay to see if I can find the California customs solaire cx4 with a blue base to see what price range and how rare they are. I’ve been looking for a few years and never come across one yet. If you have any information about it I’ll appreciated. Thanks 🙏 keep up the great videos.
Among the most desired HOT WHEELS of 1974 was the fire engine that accurately depicted the rescue Squad 51 as featured in the NBC series "EMERGENCY!" That vehicle came out about a year and a half after the T.V. show premiered, and sure that due to the shows popularity, the models sold exceptionally well
I went to the Peterson Museum to see the old cars and it was Hot Wheels month there. They had the most impressive display of Hot Wheels all lit up, walls of them. Such a bonus…
Good to see someone acquiring rare cars. I do believe however the 1973 redlines generally are all designed with 2 pc. wheels on rear and 1 pc. on front. Not due to running short on parts, that was the design. I have a lot of '73s and they are all this way. Around '74 they went to all 1 pc. wheels.
Dude that makes me want to beat the hell out of my brother ' I had 1 of these cars when I was a kid . Even though I have not seen him in at least 45 yrs. He would burn ' blow up 'or ' smash every thing I had !!!!
When I was a teenager, I used to listen to KGW. I remember when that van came out, and I had about 10 of them. When I graduated and went to work in Alaska, I came back and a former girlfriend had thrown them away. She was mad that I left to go and work and didn't spend my summer with her doing the things she liked.
Wow that is an incredible and very sad (angering even!) story. Imagine somewhere, buried deep in the ground, are 10 KGW super vans..... I'm sorry to hear about the fate of your Hot Wheels!
That would definitely be a former, not a current. I don't understand people like that. I had a lot of my matchboxes stolen when I was a kid. I don't understand people who don't appreciate the sentimentality of those miniatures.
I had an original Red Baron received on on my B - Day 73. Pink Thunderbird, Gold Eldorado, Sugar Caddy. Lincoln MK 3 , and a highly unusual car I can locate ANYWHERE. A 6 wheeler, with a roll back roof ,aka Landau Limo ....all stolen in a break in . Among others. I enjoyed your presentation while hurting a little.
i noticed in the background while showing the gorgeous super van, you have a red chevy pick up with a camper on the back of it. I had one and i miss it so much.
Sixty Two KGW!!! That was KGW's call sign on AM radio in Portland up until the mid 70's. I still have my Herfy's Gremlin Grinder and Herfy's Porsche 911 Redlines among my other Hot Wheels redlines.
What AWESOME Hot Wheels you found!!!!! I can't believe you found the 62 KGW Radio Van. Now THAT is RARE. I'm pretty sure I have had the chance to hold one of those Plastic Chrome Base Mercedes Gull Wings. Seller wanted WAY to much for it. REALLY AWESOME video Mate!!!!!
I am wondering how many are in your collection. Short story for you, my childhood collection was stollen from me back in 96', I had only 276, from that year to 2000, I never bought any, I felt that pissed off but I restarted collecting in 2001 & my collection has reached 1655 & 245 of my collection is still in package, my most expensive vehicle is the Delorean from Back to the Future, it's the 1 with the white wall tires, it cost me $60 CDN.
Very nice collections! I have an 1982 Camaro Z-28 with gold rims, 1983 '65 Mustang blue convertible with whitewalls, and an 84 Pontiac Fiero with American flag on the hood/sides and gold rims, all loose mint condition.
Shoulda Coulda, KGW was here in Portland.. big top 40 station in late 60s into the 70s.. Wish I had bought one of those vans ... actually, should have bought a few dozen of them! Shout out to Dan Foley evening DJ till about ‘72, and Uncle Don Wright, AM drive time... Thanks for the best AM of the era. Nice collection there!
Fantastic collection . Interesting history on the manufactures and styles next to each other. I have a # 285 Dinky Toy Merrryweather Marquis Fire Engine with unusual red roof light not blue I have had since I was a kid . I have no idea what is worth . Keep posting.
I love the history and the reasons on what makes some cars more valuable! Please talk more about the pricing and what makes them valuable! I might place mine on ebay.. I have a lot of these Hot Wheels from my childhood... but I'm letting my kids play with them! uh oh.. they are sorta scratched up and wheels bent now. :(
***** You are most welcome, I shall keep making theses type of videos as long as RUclips is around! And thank you for your comment, views, and support!!
you got a very big like because of your vintage 62 KGW... I am from Portland, Oregon... Use to listen that station all the time... It also NBC KGW channel 8 on the Square...
Great collection !!!!!! Why would you rip open the package after its survived just as long as the car . Do you not feel bad wrecking the box , i found just watching you open them quite painful
If you found some old toy on a carton and rip it open you are not a collector, you are a wrecker, I suggest you have too much money spending on something that is not near to your heart. FOR THAT I GIVE YOU A THUMPS DOWN
Thanks for sharing your new found vehicles! I have many of these old hot wheels myself but I had no idea the “story” behind them. Most of them are terrible track cars so we get the newer ones for racing. My black walls were discovered by the kids and didn’t survive, :( We started collecting the newer cool classics and Flying customs only the metal on metal ones. I always love visiting your junkyard! It never gets old
You have a very nice collection. My dad recently pulled out a box of cool Hot Wheels that my brother and I played with in the 70's. Seems like a fun hobby. I like how you have them displayed. Now I need to research what I have.
Most of my GI joe stuff is over on my old channel called articulatedcomics. I believe my USS flagg made an appearance in my video titled G.I. Joe Saturday ep. 1. Many of my custom G.I. Joe vehicles on on the channel as well (;
I ran across a person last year on ebay that had the entire Hero on Wheels VHS series for sale mint in package. He only wanted $5 each for them, so I picked up the white 80s Firebird.
Nice stuff. I had a green Sir Rodney as a kid because it got stuffed with play dough by my brother. None of those plastic tops ever survived in our house! I remember all three being around, yellow, orange and green. I tried to keep my hotwheels from my brother's destructive grip but, like my Micronauts they were doomed! lol
Ah the memories! Back in the early 70's member of the original hot wheels club, acquired a silver boss boss mustang , club dissolved early as not enough members. Hot wheels cars need more detailed exposed engine parts, roll cages etc street machines cars have detailed injection high velocity stacks check them out!!!!! Carry on rod on!!!!
you Showed Radio Van in video i got one too but I bet you don't have original flying colors) Toy Fair) Van)>ultra-rare in your collection? as they only made or handed out 250 of them at NY Toy fair1975. my story goes like this used to run ad will pay cash for Hot Wheels and matchbox) got a response from gentleman that just moved from New York to California had old shoebox of childhood cars with this unplayed with van in it. he then said he remembered his little brother had got one too but don't know what happen it but remembered his dad taking them to get vans at toy fair show wow....in my years of collecting this was without a doubt best find ever! tomarts guide values it at $1500 mint loose. never have i seen a original on eBay just repros so know it's rare, sets pampered in security box at my bank with framed photos of it at home to share story of the day I got flying colors Toy-fair Van.
Extremely Awsome more then a jaw dropping collection, and your knowledge and narrative are really spot on your better then a dictionary. Thanks so much for making this video !
Thank you very much sir. Great tutorial!! Now I'm all supped up and ready to believe that some where in the vast storehouse of my basement childhood wonderland. I MUST have at least a few of the very rare and very odd ''Hot Wheels'' from circa 1965-1978. But i'm too fat, and lazy to walk down the steps to look for them. Thanks posting for. Know beer efekt me. Hot Wheels!! Zoom, zoom, zoom........ rumble on do nnnnnnnw whee.....
I loved your video it is unbelievable!! would you happen to know what a H.W.C. 2005 series #4 complete set #88 out of 500 would be worth??? I can't find it on eBAY?? Thanks
I got a 1976 t-totaller hot wheels that I'm willing to donate to your Collection!! It's got a red shell with a plastic yellow bottom in decent condition. Love your vids too
I'm fine with that. Sometimes it means losing half of the value in a split second, but I need to watch these cars in hand. What if the hidden side had a factory flaw ? Takes less room to display, then, and allows me to grab them occasionally for comparison pictures. DLM has many members (Diecast Liberation Movement).
The only problem with ebay is shill bidding, where sellers have a second account and deliberately bid up prices That's why I wait until the last 2 seconds to bid, works everytime, hehehe
I did the same as you , I take my cars off the card to display them , I started collecting in the early 80’s to about 08 . I have right at 8,500 cars & of course I have doubles, about 700 , still on the card ( just keep them though I don’t need them ) . I display mine in a wall case , jeweler case and end cap glass display cases from a hallmark store . I bought sets , 5 packs to get cars that were not regular line . Limited editions , promo’s and at the time 100% Hot Wheels . I enjoy them all
Amazing collection, what a blast from the past. Could you please tell me what kind of storage/display cases you're using? I'd really like to organize my son's collection and they look great. I'm assuming the ones you mounted on the wall are the same type as the ones you have stacked to the side with the covers removed, is that correct? They look like hardware organizers for fasteners.
@@wtffor - Thanks for the reply, I really appreciate it. I actually found your video where you explain everything and go through mounting the cases, but forgot to come back and edit my comment. Thank you nonetheless, I appreciate your time! Unfortunately Plano doesn't export those particular cases to Europe where I live, and the ones available through amazon over here go between €55-€80 a case! Ridiculous. So, on to the next solution...
You got the Black Van -62 Kgw .Was a radio station in the 70's . IT CAME From portland or auburn washington. Looking at it I owned it. Its story is ...I bought a Happy Meal from a fast food restaurant called "Herfy's" in portland in 1974.In the happy meal was the Van. I am Honored that you have it now. I will keep watching .YOU ARE THE HOT WHEEL GOD !!!
What kind of a man has a Hot Wheels collection? This has to be the most geeked out, nerdy collection I have ever seen in my life. P.S. Is it cool if I come over and push around a couple of these? I swear I won't push down too hard or push them too fast to make them flip. haha Seriously, thanks you SO much for sharing this great collection. You have done your homework and passed with flying colors! This is awesome.
first of all, I love your videos and im more than a little jealous of your hot wheels room. I have been looking for the speed machines red super van for months, I never see them on ebay or anywere else, so congrats on finding two mint ones.
Oh, the gunslinger! I couldn't trade for that! I wanted it so badly! That, and the green army van that was apart of that series. There was a red ambulance too that I had. Oh, and a red baron. Seems that it had no bump on the helmet, no cross, and was a different shade of red.
be the best at something, You Sir are the best of hot wheels. Totally low key down to earth approach I totally enjoyed this video time. I don't know if I'll be back but this visit was very therapeutic .
It's a miracle the old glue holding the car and packaging to the card is still working but you can tell how old these treasures are. I've been a collector my whole life but lost my collection to thieves who stole my over 8000 die cast cars mostly in package. I had the that black super van also had the white one.
I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your huge collection... I hope you have been able to restart and continue enjoying the hobby in some way. 8000 cars in the package is a lot of stuff... how did the thieves get away with it all?
Well what happen was my brother went in half on a storage unit with a so called friend and I had just become homeless so I had about 25 plastic totes filled with ertl, tomica, matchbox,Johnny lighting, majorette, and hot wheels, key racers, and some original stomper 4×4s with foam not rubber tires. I could go on and on but I'm sure you get the just of it anyways with nowhere to put them I put my trust in this friend of my brother anyway the rent came due on the unit and my brother trusted his friend would pay the monthly bill but his friend told him that he had paid the rent on it well he didnt and when my brother went to pay the next month everything in the storage unit had been auctioned off 2 days earlier I cried cuz I lost everything I owned my treasured hot wheels collection everything I'm just barely showing a little interest in them again I bought my first hot wheel in 5 years yesterday after watching your video but I can't get into it I started collecting in 1968 when I was 1. I had my first hot wheel the silver shadow and the vw bus with the side surf boards every hot wheel I ever collected gone,! It hurts even if I had insured them I had hot wheels you could not find without bending over and taking a nice shifting. I was victimized.
jamie moore In mint condition I've seen Spacer Racer's sell for $30 to $35. So if it's missing parts and chipped I wouldn't spend more then a few bucks on it personally, unless I was really desperate for a "filler" car. Realistically book value at that condition (C3), would be $3 to $4.
Such a great expensive addition to your collection, as for your road roller, I have 1, it says : 69 road roller from 1985 & has the hot wheels emblem, it doesn't have the cat emblem on it .
This is still the most incredible haul video on RUclips. I like rewatching it every so often.
Thank you to all of you who commented and watched my video, I really do appreciate the support you guys and gals give me to keep creating these videos. They will keep coming! This wouldn't be possible without your views and support :)
HAY?! i still have a VHS player! if you get them i'll have the tapes!!! you can keep the ultra rare cars i'll happly have the VHS tape! unlike most ppl i'm one of those rare ppl that in this day n age still collects and watches VHS's mostly of my childhood,
love your collection and I would've done the same thing getting the line of credit to complete my collection , keep the videos coming please

Wow! My son just turned 1, and we are building his little Collection. He has about 40 cars so far. He loves watching them go through the loops and through the track sets that have lots of turns! This collection of yours is serious! I love it!
You have a literal hot wheels museum. You could charge admission to see this collection! No doubt the best collection on the tube.
Killing it yet again! Thanks for inspiring so many to continue to collect and for those like myself to get into it!
I had the black van with the flames and silver bottom when I was little. I remember the blue windows. Seeing that one took me back. Thanks.
at 47yr old.i remember playing with a ton of these shown.brought me right back to playing on the porch .thanks.cool collectio.!
The only problem with ebay is shill bidding, where sellers have a second account and deliberately bid up prices
That has happened once to me, but usually it's obvious. I called out a seller on it once and he cancelled the transaction, which I was happy for.
craigybus1 how would you know that happened for sure though?
MARCEAUX ZAMORA probably a super expensive offer goes up for it when it’s like a minute old
Sometimes you see a loser bidding step by step and stopping right when he gets on a par with your leading bid, or just below. Dude pushing you to the max and then freezing. Greed.
That’s a shame

Almost no toy is better than the U.S.S Flagg.
The U.S.S. Flagg is an amazing toy and collectible... I would love to collect more GI Joe and related vehicles, but I simply couldn't afford it. Do you have a video uploaded of your Flagg? I would love to see it.

Thanks 🙏 keep up the great videos.
wow.....if we would have only knew then ......I got a new matchbox car every Saturday morning from a drug store on my way to my grandmother's house.
if we only knew then we wall would have saved them and they wouldn't be worth anything today :)

Brutal video, loved it. Orange Sir R Roadster, KGW Super Van... Wow !

Most of my GI joe stuff is over on my old channel called articulatedcomics. I believe my USS flagg made an appearance in my video titled G.I. Joe Saturday ep. 1. Many of my custom G.I. Joe vehicles on on the channel as well (;
GHOSTJERKER Heading over there now to check it out! Cool!
Congrats on your awesome finds - treasure! Thumbs up!
I tried to keep my hotwheels from my brother's destructive grip but, like my Micronauts they were doomed! lol
myopicvision Thank you for sharing a wildy fun memory of these old cars - I love the stories from old Hot Wheels childhood play memories!
You know so much about HW cars and I thank you for so many things I never knew until finding this site.
you Showed Radio Van in video i got one too but I bet you don't have original flying colors) Toy Fair) Van)>ultra-rare in your collection? as they only made or handed out 250 of them at NY Toy fair1975. my story goes like this used to run ad will pay cash for Hot Wheels and matchbox) got a response from gentleman that just moved from New York to California had old shoebox of childhood cars with this unplayed with van in it. he then said he remembered his little brother had got one too but don't know what happen it but remembered his dad taking them to get vans at toy fair show wow....in my years of collecting this was without a doubt best find ever! tomarts guide values it at $1500 mint loose. never have i seen a original on eBay just repros so know it's rare, sets pampered in security box at my bank with framed photos of it at home to share story of the day I got flying colors Toy-fair Van.
Awesome pickups!! Thanks for the great history lesson.
Awesome collection
I love your devotion to the hobby. Your deffinately the hot wheels king!
Collections will never END NEARLY complete.....IT never will END IT just doesn't END. NO END.
In 1997 Mattel did buy Matchbox but not from Lesney, they bought matchbox from Tyco Toys, Lesney went bankrupt in 1982.... 19:42
Love your vids too
I audibly gasped with shock at 1:37....
Same here , nope!
I enjoy them all
Wow, classic 62 KGW RADiO black van is awesome. Very impressive collection bro
Hahahaha ok !! Feel free to hurl insults and comments now!! Haha😂😂😂 that was so funny. Awesome collection by the way
I had so many of those Van's. Also that turbo wedge, with the adjustable rear axle.
Fantastic video. Congratulations with your beautiful and extreme rare addtions to your collection. It's always a real pleasure watching your video's.
MonsterRocket7 Thank you very much!
Great video O-Dawg you are a walking encyclopedia of diecast my friend...great to watch this ...lots of great cars and info.
Cool collection man. I think it's really cool people collect stuff like this.
I have the Turbo Wedge in a lime grn with yellow tail. Got it about 40 yrs ago and still looks new.
Thanks for the question! The cases I use primarily to store and display my collection are made by a company called Plano, model # 5324
Best of luck my friend, they are a great solution to displaying your collection once you find a reasonable cost on the Plano cases
Very educational. Thank you for uploading it
You are welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting!
For hobby, fun, nostalgia, hot wheels just may be the best toy on earth!
Agreed!
That is a great piece of historical knowledge and thank you for sharing it with me! So cool!
What kind of a man has a Hot Wheels collection? This has to be the most geeked out, nerdy collection I have ever seen in my life.
P.S. Is it cool if I come over and push around a couple of these? I swear I won't push down too hard or push them too fast to make them flip. haha
Seriously, thanks you SO much for sharing this great collection. You have done your homework and passed with flying colors! This is awesome.
first of all, I love your videos and im more than a little jealous of your hot wheels room. I have been looking for the speed machines red super van for months, I never see them on ebay or anywere else, so congrats on finding two mint ones.
RU kidding me👍🏼this is the coolest car 🚗 video the cars where dream toys I think I had most of these cars at some time 👍🏼 awesome collection
Awesome video that is a beautiful collection TY for sharing
Fantástic!!!!
Nice!!!!
Love your channel
You handle them with care and reverence. Good info.
Like that you mention prices.
Keep the fantastic videos coming.
Thanks, will do!
Man, and I thought My collection was huge. Mines doesn't even strike a match to yours. Congradulations dude!
Great collection brother. I don't see why some folks on here upset cause u opened the cars as if it's no car cases for the collection.
Hi is a 1982 speed machines spacer racer with missing canopy and slight paint wear is worth going for for roughly 12$ ? BTW keep up the great vids
jamie moore In mint condition I've seen Spacer Racer's sell for $30 to $35. So if it's missing parts and chipped I wouldn't spend more then a few bucks on it personally, unless I was really desperate for a "filler" car. Realistically book value at that condition (C3), would be $3 to $4.
Best collection! Love the fact you prefer out of package
+Dino Celseti Thank you very much! It also takes a lot less room in my home without all the cardboard and plastic
Great collection. Thank you for sharing this video.
Thanks for watching!
Loving that gun slinger! Hey do have any advice on a legitimate/accurate guide for castings, prices, variations?
+Richieboy87 ebay is the most accurate current price guide available.
Love how u open ur cars u colllect different this is cool
Such a great expensive addition to your collection, as for your road roller, I have 1, it says : 69 road roller from 1985 & has the hot wheels emblem, it doesn't have the cat emblem on it .
Nice video. Very informative. Quick point, the exhaust on the Ferraris is actually the inlet trumpets.
