Yeah man!! Congrats for the 40k subs, let's go for the 80k and sold out an entire stadium!!! Thanks again for another cool video Matt, and yes, the CC with you talking combo works perfect !!! About other POV, I love the sound engineer focused on drums, how they eq the drums, etc, but I guess that is not possible due you are playing at the same time. So "A Day In The Lights Engineer Life" spinoff could be cool too Hugs from Barcelona bro. Cheers !!
In terms of your question at the end about what other perspectives: JT - What's his day to day on stage managing, the ins and outs, what he's responsible for. Monitors - How you guys run your Monitor world would be really cool! Guitar Tech World - Ya'll gotta love an indepth guitar world run down for any guitar nerds too. They using onstage switching, does Chris do it, or is it like midi changes? Audio Tech - I didn't even realise people brought audio tech's out on tour! I thought it was mainly FOH & Monitors who covered all those types of things. Love it Matt! - Obviously would be great to hear from these types of people, but would never expect it!
Bro one thing you taught me with drums. Don’t take tuning too seriously. You are able to achieve a great sound with precision. You taught me to just listen and adjust. Your videos are staple a for me and my kid to watch together.
Super nice, chill, and leveled headed bro here to tell you your channel is the epitome of “made it” for me. Love your content. Everything about it. I get to live the life I’ve always wanted through your videos. Great stuff bud, so happy you’ve made it!
It took me a good 10 seconds to understand the "dont die on me" when you were seating the snare head. But when I got it, i couldn't stop laughing. Lmao
Never in my life I would have found my self watching a POV of a Drum Tech, for the first album of a band, that I spent a week downloading off of Napster, 24 years ago, change their snare. Yet here we are. As a former drummer that never made it - please keep on making these videos. Especially with audio commentary. You're a natural at it and are fucking awesome.
I used to be a local stage hand in the late 80's early 90's. I always followed and made myself available to the lighting techs, I would love to see some more of that as it has changedso much from par cans to LED's now. Another thing that fascinated me a lot was rigging, give it up for those guys, always a cool subject to highlight in a future video.
The best Drum Tech Vlog around! I bought the SnareWeight mufflers and keys because of this vid, and MAN, these are great! Fun fact: You said the Dutch word for sauce (that's how we pronounce 'Saus')
I didn't even know you guys were here in Knox. I had open heart surgery the next day so that's probably why. Nothing was on my radar but that. I hope we treated y'all well
Hey Matt.. Just wanted to let you know that from your very first video you motivated me and gave inspiration to clean my cymbals and kit. Much respect in what you do.
As a guitar lover and seller I would LOVE for Chris to start his own guitar tech perspective! Would be so dope especially the guitar tech // drum tech crossover videos :D
Hey Matt it's Josh Campbell we talked on FB about music and I asked you about the dotted heads on the resonate side. I finally joined a new band hopefully be posting material soon.
1st off Start 2 finish crew here! :) 1 thing i wanted to note as a hard of hearing person who uses closed captioning a lot for youtube and in general, since you customize your CC track for your narration, youtube then doesn't auto generate captions for when you're speaking, But I try my best to hear you, and thankfully you speak clearly and concisely most times, so thank you for that! Lastly I would love to see how Dan the LD dials in his rig at a show.
Hey Matt, I normally watch RUclips videos when I'm about to go on a trip or a cruise to do some research. I stumbled on your video and I am here to say I am now a subscriber. I am 62 years old and have played the drums since I was a teenager. Mostly local, and have played with bands that have performed for the LA Dodgers, NY Mets, and have opened for Lee Roy Parnell, Lee Greenwood, Confederate Railroad and others. I play here and there now enjoying my retirement years. Your videos are awesome and I enjoy watching the full day. Keep it going and I will keep on watching!
Killer stuff man! i always like the backstage stuff, hotels, tour bus, getting some grub, joking and teasing with the crew guys. Not a Disturbed guy but this was cool to watch, keep up the good work out there!
Saw you in Baltimore, awesome job as always! But, lighting, lighting, LIGHTING! They have an amazing show for being direct support. Between pyro, kyvant lasers etc.
I’d love to see some FOH! I’d love to know how or if they eq the mains to the room and maybe even see what they do during shows or sound check crew play through!
I'm a drummer, so I'm definitely interested in just drum tech. I would also be interested in seeing more of the Tour Manager and Stage Manager positions. Keep up the awesome videos!
the Tour Bus Driver, i’d love to see “a day in the in life of a tour bus driver” just what his job entails from him driving from venue to venue to washing the bus to keeping it cleaned on the inside etc. i’m a 28 yr truck driver myself & always been curious. That would be great.
It would be really cool to see you change the batter head, wires and bottom head on a snare, just so we can all see how the you do it and achieve the sound luke needs each night, love this channel and videos, greetings from Scotland 🏴🏴🥁🥁
Would love to hear from anyone that runs front of house sound and their thoughts/methods on getting the kit to sound good at different venues. You mentioned that they pitch shift the snare down which is interesting.
Shout out from Dallas, Texas. New to the Channel. Have already watched six videos, and have not been disappointed. Great job and looking forward to other videos from you.
Matt, thank you for sharing. I love your attention to the little things that add up to one BIG thing - the sound and feel. You make it look easy when I know it's very difficult. And YOUR drumming is fantastic. Let us know if YOU'RE gonna play out sometime.
Matt, thank you for all the behind the scene footage. Would love to see what goes into a sound techs job behind the soundboard. Setting up and also what goes into it during the actual show.
I’d like to see what the JT dudes day is like or what all he’s responsible for. He seems like a good guy. Awesome video as always man! Thanks for all you do
Hey matt thanks for showing us your magic and those beautiful venue and backstage we might never see always a good time watching your vids. I'd love to see Chris work , being a newcomer to the live performance world and only knowing some basic would be cool and maybe one day when you do a europe tour will be there for the boys , Thank you again! Start to finish crew!
I can relate to you when you talk about the moment when you get a bit tired half tour. I got deployed far from home often. I loved my job but there's always a point (often halway) when you get tired of it.
For sure, man. Like, I love it but when you’re gone from friends and family and you realize you’re only half way… it starts to get boring. Waiting for that second wind!
Hey man as a fellow drummer I’m really enjoying the videos! It would be cool to see what you do after shows on your free time with yourself and the crew.
I have played drums here too. I went to University of Tennessee and played drum set in the basketball pep band. It is a great venue and your drums will sound even better. Hope you guys have a great time on Rocky Top! yee haw.
Love this kinda content! Swear I could watch this style of video for every stop of the tour, regardless if it’s the same tech position. Definitely makes me miss this kinda work. Keep killing it!
I’ve been watching these every night before bed. Not sure what’s so relaxing about a man tuning drums and putting cheese on salad.. but it sure does the trick
In terms of different perspectives, I wouldn't mind seeing a quick rundown of the what the whole crew does. I know that there is a lot of folks involved and a lot of positions, so it wouldn't need to be in depth, but just a quick look into what makes the show come together would be amazing.
I've been wanting to get into bass tech. been a bass player for 40+ years and I'm always interested in seeing other rigs and bass setups. Killer content, and keep 'em coming!
Hey Matt! Just came across your videos and just wanted to say that i have been drumming for years but didn't really look into the tech and logistics of it all. And just wanted to say that you got me really interested and to study more about these things. you are awesome, keep it up, i'll be watching!

All these drummers think they can copy the drum tech vlog vibe but they just can't. This is the best tour drum vlog content on youtube.
I noticed a bunch popping up in the last month lol
Yeah they all trying to get in on it lol but matt horn 👑
Don't disagree but The Steel Woods is one of my favorite bands so I was really excited watch some of the BTS from them

I 100,000 percent agreed with you I would love that
I am in favor of having these questions answered as well
Guitar/Bass Tech World would be nice!
would love to see more of the playback setup and rig too

Thanks heaps for bringing us on tour Matt. Has quickly become my favourite channel and stoked I get to binge watch so many shows.
Right. So cool
Start to finish crew!
Bro one thing you taught me with drums. Don’t take tuning too seriously. You are able to achieve a great sound with precision. You taught me to just listen and adjust. Your videos are staple a for me and my kid to watch together.
think how loud it is, you can't hear IF they're out of tune or not...

I was here!!
It took me a good 10 seconds to understand the "dont die on me" when you were seating the snare head. But when I got it, i couldn't stop laughing. Lmao
I would like to see the POV of the lighting department. Especially the systems tech and the systemflow from your playback world to FOH

that was great
loved it
thanks matt
willard was great
Hey Dude, in my book your Awesome, Number 1
Be good to get to hear Luke's position on drum techs, what it means to him, what he is looking for also what he is expecting from his tech. 🤘
Definitely not enough rigging content on RUclips. I don't think people really realize how much weight and money is dangling above the stage
Was at the Baltimore show. What a performance! Round of applause for the entire crew.
The dude at 45:45 reminds me of the music organizer from Fyre festival, Marc Weinstein. I guess audio engineers all have a hat + ponytail look.
Always interested in how other drum techs tune, I learn tons that way. I find my self sometimes spending just too much time tuning.
Honestly I like your content because it's like watching a checklist of all the things I need to remember to bring to a show
Matt enjoying your VLOG!!! Wondering if maybe you could do a run through about Playback and how it all works cheers From OZ!
The best Drum Tech Vlog around! I bought the SnareWeight mufflers and keys because of this vid, and MAN, these are great!
Fun fact: You said the Dutch word for sauce (that's how we pronounce 'Saus')
The Snare Weight addition to the kit is very clutch. They’re easily my favorite accessory to my kit in the last 5-7 years 👌🏼

I'd love to see what FoH does throughout the entire setup and show process and how the lighting show is done up
Your first video inspired me to build a cymbal stand practice kit and I use it daily. I’d be interested in learning about the stage manager’s day

If it weren't for you & your channel, I would've never known that Luke was playing drums for "FIR".
No doubt! Been Watching Luke on YT for awhile now
Hey Matt it's Josh Campbell we talked on FB about music and I asked you about the dotted heads on the resonate side. I finally joined a new band hopefully be posting material soon.

Man, when you launched that drum stick mid convo and everyone just pretend it didn’t happen 😂😂😂😂

That jam with the crew is just 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Im a very very beginner drummer, always watching your channel to understand about drum and drumming, very intresting
I was at this show and it was awesome! Luke was insane on the kit and you had it sounding great brother
Love the drum key on the snare for crew jam……
I’m going to be at the show in Savannah on the 22nd. Looking forward to hearing some well tuned drums 🤘🏻Keep up the awesome vids man.
Hey man as a fellow drummer I’m really enjoying the videos! It would be cool to see what you do after shows on your free time with yourself and the crew.

Perfect way to start the day when you're up before the sun. Keep em coming Matt
These videos I can watch over and over ❤
So cool to see behind the scenes! Hoping to see one with enmarket arena!

Man a video with FOH sound & LD would be fun! At least for us wanna be’s out here. Great videos sir!
You choosing water over DC is actually helping me. i’m trying to severely cut down on fizzy drinks, and seeing you psych us reminds me of my goals ❣️
It’s a good reminder that gigs and tours ≠ unhealthy lifestyle

I was here for the opening window shot to the finishing salad.lol rock on 🤘
Congratulations Matt! 🎉🎉🎉
I’ll put in an order for an MH Lazy Susan, if you get them made. 👍👍👍👍
