- In this video, I show how to program a key fob for a Toyota, Lexus, or Scion. You will need first to install Techstream V18. However I can no longer provide a link for the software nor a tutorial on how to install it, since both RUclips and my website provider banned the link. So you will have to acquire the software on your own.

Thanks for doing this! I used this video and another to help me understand how to program my replacement smart key. You video helped me figure out how to use utilities to get to the smart key reg. Now I'm good to go!
I'm glad that it worked. Please, share the video!
Thank you for the video. Can I use techstream program the key transponder or is it only for programming key to lock/unlock key fob?
It works also for the transponder.
What is the type of cable needed? Is that hooked up to the car or what is that used for? Any clarification much appreciated.
Everything is described with details here: ruclips.net/video/Z5rsPUj_VjI/видео.html
The cable is shown at 4:50.
Can I use this to program 2005 nissan sentra fob
@@jeansandmyshirt
No! This software is only for Toyota, Lexus, and Scion.
@@BlueMoonshine would it program key fob for 2002 highlander toyota
@@jeansandmyshirt
Probably. I can't tell for sure since I only have a Prius, but the software is supposed to be compatible with all Toyota released before March 2023 (and probably even with newer ones).
I found this program extremely useful. Could it program key HYQ14FBX for 2022 toyota Venza? Thank you.
Probably, since it is the version that was released in March 2023. Full tutorial on how to download and install it here: ruclips.net/video/Z5rsPUj_VjI/видео.html
I have the program with the patch and the cable, and the light is lit on the end of the J2534 mini vci cable. But I get an unable to connect to the VIM/vehicle error. It worked when I used it last around Sept 2023. Is there a new patch for this??
I'm not aware of any new patch. 6 months ago, RUclips banned my video and my website provider banned the page as well as the archive with the file. I don't have any copy of the Techstream files or the video.
Does after markets keys work with techstream
I don't know, I never tried.
Thank you for the video. I am trying to program my 2007 Camry and I do not see the Smart Key ECU in the list. I have also looked in Main Body and do not see anything for it. Do you know why it would not show up?
I'm not sure. Did the software automatically detected your car, or you selected the model manually? If you did it automatically, you may want to try to select the model manually and make sure the correct model is selected.
I lost my key fob to my lexus. Does this work to program a new master keyfob? Or only works to make additional keyfob?
I believe that it works to program a new master keyfob.
I was asked for a code when downloading the software. I tried downloading an older version but it asks for a code as well.
No code will be asked if you follow this tutorial exactly as is: ruclips.net/video/Z5rsPUj_VjI/видео.html
Hi do you have on your Laptop, There must be a way you can help in downloading this tech stream
No, my laptop broke a few months ago. I don't have the software anymore. Sorry!

Can I use this tool to program a used key(come from another Lexus, same year and model? to my Lexus?
Yes, but the key needs to be erased first. Either you need a key eraser, or the software can do it for you if you purchase a code from Toyota. I never tried that, though.
It's strange, not seeing the same buttons as shown here in Techstream. I have Techstream 18.00.008 running; I installed it from a cd that came bundled with the mini vci cable. Same basic setup; a crack/loader/patch copied into the /bin subfolder and Techstream run from the TSLoader shortcut. It looks the same as the tiny gray window in your video and also says V16 instead of V18.
Techstream definitely detects my 2011 Prius, but where my experience departs from what's shown in your video is that after confirming my car's setup, *the health check button does not appear.*
I see all the car systems in yellow, and can even doubleclick on the Smart Key field, which interfaces with the car and shows 1 past troublecode (which of course isn't itself rrlevant, but proves that the car is at least interfacing w/ Techstream.
From the tab 'Smart Key Live,' where the 1 past troublecode displays, it looks similar to your video but is also missing a different button, namely *Utility.* There's no Utility button.
Maybe I need some additional mini vci driver not included on the cd to see these options? Hard to tell what I really need as I'm using an old laptop airgapped by disabling wifi...so no way to check online for driver updates....
I really don't know...
@@BlueMoonshine Kudos though, your video was still quite helpful in showing me which elements were missing/not functioning properly in my own version of Techstream.
Solution: In the end, I wound up uninstalling Techstream V 18.00.008 from the 32-bit Vista laptop, and then reinstalling a much older version, namely V 9.10.037 (it's out there and free, just have to hunt a bit to find it).
I then copied and pasted the same "TSLoader" file that had come packaged with V 18.00.008 into the /bin subfolder of the Techstream installation files for V 9.10.037 and ran TSLoader instead of directly opening the actual Techstream executable file.
Somehow, this worked - suddenly the Health Check and Utility buttons appeared, and I was able to clone two key fobs pretty quickly.
My hunch is that newer versions of Techstream have been modified (perhaps unofficially) for x64 architecture and don't play as well with x32?? Can't prove it, just a guess.

Ah, yes! They are for Windows 10 (64 bits) and Windows 11.

Then you did NOT follow the instructions. Watch the tutorial again!
If you are supposed to removed the already program key from the car during the process , how do you turn ignition on ?
What you have to do depends on the model of your car, but it is clearly indicated by the software.
Is there any source for buying a blank key fob at a reasonable price? Toyota dealership wants $450 for a replacement fob! This is ridiculous, when you can get a decent laptop or cell phone for less than that. Seems to me that a key fob should cost no more than maybe $25. All it does is unlock your car doors, and allow the car to boot up - it's not like it's doing complex computing tasks.
I bought my blank key on eBay. I don't remember how much I paid, as it was several years ago, but it was no more than $30.
Hi How can i get this video,How to install and activate Toyota Techstream V18 on Windows 11:
I'm sorry, RUclips has banned my video and my website provider banned the page as well as the archive with the file. I don't have any copy of the Techstream files or the video.
I opned the Techstream Patch from the bin folder or the shortcut. It then opens two techstream stuff. One shows version 16. Other is the actual application. If I close the version 16 pop up, then it asks for "new key" for the software.
If I don't close the version 16 pop up, it gives the following error:
Unable to connect to the VIM.
How can I resolve this?
I'm sorry, I made that tutorial about installing the software 18 months ago, and I don't remember what the procedure was. The tutorial has been banned by RUclips, and I don't have any copy of it.
Hi Blue Moonshine I need this Techstream V18 can send the Downloader and Pass key so I can download this software, I had downloaded your previous Toyota Techstream which did not require any pass key but things went wrong and it deleted the program. please help.
I'm sorry, RUclips has banned my video and my website provider banned the page as well as the archive with the file. I don't have any copy of the Techstream files or the video.
I tried this on a Prius with v18. It didn't show me the utility option after pressing "smart key"
I haven't used the software in a while, but I remember it was extremely slow. Also, did it correctly detect the model and year for your car?
@@BlueMoonshine I solved it by switching to 64 bit windows 7 instead of 32bit
Thanks a lot , can you help me to get techstream ? i have download the copy from your website earlier but i need the passcode
I think the passcode was "Teschstream", but I no longer have the tutorial on how to install it, as RUclips has banned my video and my website provider banned the page as well as the archive with the file. I don't have any copy of the Techstream files or the video.
Big like !
Thank you! Please, share the video on your social networks!
sucks that youtube took down your video on how to download techstream v18, unfortunate that i didnt download the video to use for later, need to program a key fob for a 2015 subaru brz with no keys
Yes, I don't even have a copy of that video.
@@BlueMoonshine Do you still have the password to the RAR file? Can't remember but it was something simple. Thank you :)

I think it was "Techstream".
@@papidonaldotrumpo Do you have a copy of the file, by chance?
@@BlueMoonshine Thank you, that was it. Hero
I did this and it programmed my new key, but now both keys will not lock or unlock the door. I have to use the mechanical key.
I didn't have this problem. I programmed my extra key about 8 months ago by following the tutorial, and so far I have no problem to report (I have a Prius 2011).
your tutorial on how to install the program is removed
Yes, as written in the description of the video, "I can no longer provide a link for the software nor a tutorial on how to install it, since both RUclips and my website provider banned the link. So you will have to acquire the software on your own."
i think this he help you ruclips.net/video/bfqsJ0Aq1pg/видео.html
Dead links (e.g. installing on windows 11)
What do you mean by "dead links"? This video tutorial is about programming a keyfob, not about installing Techstream.
@ the links in the “caption” (ie the description) that you reference in your video :)
