Nice. I was one of the first people to try out recycle in the studio with an Akai sampler whilst working with Carl Cox at his studio in Horsham, it was a revelation when it first came out for sure. Saved us so much time.
@@Arc.hitectureMusic Pretty sure it was. I used the Propellerhead version a lot later on. Great piece of software at the time though, proper gamechanger compared to working in those little Akai windows. ;)
And if you are missing the SCSI, you can do the same transfer with Recycle! Using Midi transmission, but It will take about 5 minutes when transferring Breakbeats.
The removal of SCSI sending breaks from Recycle is so annoying. Having some modern software that parsed the breaks and allowed me to SMDI send them would be a god send.
İ still use recycle 2.0 with wavelab with my samplers (e5000 ultra, cd3000 and Yamaha a3000 V2). Great software! İf you search for some old sample pack of sort hook me up. İt's possible that i have it here on mu shelf. Happy sampling!

Around 1995/1996 I made the roundtrip of vocals, recording them into the Akai S3200XL, transferring over to Recycle, had it chop it up to every syllable then return them to the sampler where I normalized them all to full scale. This made for some very intelligible vocals, which was needed considering the track was a 172 BPM Happy Hardcore song with pitched up vocals called Starchild. ruclips.net/video/zXi-0gstKmk/видео.html
Have you tried it with an s1100, all the samples sent via SCSI are maxed out to 10db on the s1100 output page, have to adjust each sample back to 0db , bit annoying not found a way round it , nice vid by the way👍
Hey man nice vid, what is the spec/pins on the scsi on back of the powerbook? im trying to find a small computer to use to save and chop on for my akai samplers via scsi would all the powerbooks work? Thanks!
@@Arc.hitectureMusic Great! thanks for the reply, so would I just need a HDi50 (did you mean HDI30??) to SCSI lead then? or any work around with modern macs? Black face 3200 looks dope btw
@@Vibration_Transmission no Mac past OSX 10.0 works with SCSI and samplers in my experience. Just need to find a HDI50 to SCSI DB25 or Centronics adapter.

That’s is quite the awesome story. I would imagine this was around the time of original Recycle when Steinberg was still the distributor of it?

Is the G3 running the Abelton as well as the Recycle?
Nice... but: Explain the black S3200 in your rack as well...🙂
It's very rare. That's it. That's the explanation
This is how we do it ;-)
it was all about workflow..... i miss my ensoniq eps
Really Nice setup! What monitor are you using?
The Ultrawide is the Dell U3417W
Could watch 6 more hours of this tbh. Have you thought about doing any streams from the studio?
If the demand is there I am considering it
What about the transfer between those old mac and newer ones ? Do you edit your sample on the powerbook G3 ? Thanks !
All the sample editing is on the G3. Unless I’m messing with something in Live I just sample it in via analog inputs, then scsi edit using the G3
How do you link to 2 computers?
Ethernet
Does Recyce 2.0 do midi dump aswell???
It does, but it’s slloowe
What other samplers does this work for?

Hi, do you know if this works with the S950?
Not directly.

Lombard, PDQ, and Wallstreet all have a HDI50 port which allows for native Mac scsi support. Older models also have scsi but will run slower.

Peace. Where'd you get an SSD for the PDQ?
eBay. It’s a Pata SSD
