For the longest time I couldn't figure out who you look like and that would be my ex father in law. But when you climbed down in the harvester I realized that. It's all good! Sad he died about 16 years ago.
Well The logical trade-off especially when they're in the process of spending millions of dollars putting in a new rotary parlor would have put in sand separators they pay for themselves in the bedding savings alone. Or at least they do around here cuz a tractor trailer load of sand runs you about $1000-1200 dumped in the yard and you can bet unless they're buying it somehow for less than half that they're spending like $100-150,000 a year easy just buying sand let alone all the extra expenses of all the wear on this manure equipment.
Pretty sure his plan is to rebuild this one and then it will go with the chopper when he trades it and he won't need to buy another head when he buys a new chopper he's already got a new one when he gets a new chopper in couple years. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's his plan
Wheat time is a good time too. Here in Michigan some are doing wheat just to check moisture. None are really going balls to the wall yet. Second cutting hay looks like it's going to running really tight to wheat and oats. Be safe in Harvest..
GEA is a far Superior spreader to a Nuhn ive had both. 😂😂GEA is the only spreader on the market with a hydraulic suspension and they tow like a Cadillac even across ground.
Andy bought a new chopper head after he briefly used a rental replacement to minimize down time. The dealership didn't want to sell the rental head plus wanted the rental head back to go on a newer demo chopper so the new head was utilized while parts arrived and repairs were done to the original head which went back into service to save hours on the new head. The size of their operation & haying schedule doesn't practically allow for excessive down time so having a backup chopper head available was a business decision made to hopefully keep the chopper as productive as possible.

krone easyflow has a camless pickup which is a good idea but they are rediculusly expensive and they only fit the krone choppers, idk why cammed pickups are still o... oh wait parts sales
Seems weird to me they only live a few miles from Syracuse New York I'd be hounding whatever the electric company is that serves Syracuse and get them to put in biodigesters ( with them you get your solid liquid seperation) let them take the electricity for free until they get their money back from the Biodigester investment then you've got your separation already and then you just spread all the solids with the vertical beater spreaders. Two farms near me that milk a lot less cows than them both already did this. Then once the electric utility has their money back from the biodigester you start getting a cut of the electricity as well it's a win-win for everybody and green electric. And then the biggest kicker to it is when they're spreading the liquid it doesn't even smell. Making all the communities they spread manure in much happier. Plus the electric company gets all that great PR for switching over to Green energy sources it's a win-win for everybody I'd be hounding that electric utility until it happened.

But I think it’s about to change for us with deer wanting to move almost everything to Mexico i think it’s time to tell deer to go pound salt it’s bad enough that everything has doubled in price and now deer pretty much wants the mom and pop dealerships to sell to the superstores hate to say but #%ck deer they forgot who put them where there at
Unfortunately it's not that simple... I manage the equipment fleet for a decent size rigging company and work on quite a bit of Deere equipment myself. It's not just John Deere doing stuff like this, over the course of the last year and a half we have moved a couple very large well-known companies to Mexico, one of them being Honeywell. I'm sure you've heard of them. Talking with these guys at these large companies you know what the biggest problem is? It's not taxes, it's not finding cheap labor, it's finding labor itself... the sad reality is there's no one in America to do the work that these large companies require.
It must be a common thing. The same thing is happening in Australia where finding labour is just about impossible and it is not because there are no workers it is laziness. The western world needs to wake up before they are overtaken by the rest of the world
@@Adam_Poirier So true. The American labor force is absolutely abysmal and those that actually show up are not really worth having because their productivity about 1/3 what actually needed to get the job done. So hard to find help at all and good help... forget it.
@@Adam_Poirier we’ve got 38 pieces of deer’s construction equipment and let me tell in the last 3 years we’ve had two take overs in our dealership and both of them isn’t worth a pint of piss. Have went over their heads to deer itself and basically get told all that’s what it is so #%ck deer. Actually have 2 new case excavators were demonstrating deer should come look and see how to build a real excavator
A word of wisdom sir... Perhaps you should know what you are talking about before you make comments. This is an actual real life working farm and the costs are clearly given on their repairs. Do you even know the first thing about the full cost of these machines????? NOPE!

What they are selling to the large box stores isn’t what you would get direct from Deere…. Moving the jobs to Mexico is a good thing
