instead of the war band you can grab the Magmic invocations ($38 for 160 pts) the flame wall is a great screen and the Infernoth can eliminate heros (the flame-spitter is mid) or for $35 you can get Gotrek Gurnisson who is 480 pts AND is use-able in ANY grand alliance Order army (that includes seraphon) gotrek is an absolute UNIT he can just sit on whatever point you want and that point is basically yours for the game cus he will kill anything that comes close and is nigh-unkillable. and for just $35 you get a 480 pt filler for any Order army you want to start.
The original start collecting box was so much better than its current iteration.
I wish GW was more creative with Fyreslayers. 2 out of 3 endless spells and Magmadroth are awesome but then everything else looks exactly the same.
Good luck finding a copy of the Chosen axes for a decent price only downside to wanting an out of print warband is they cost a ton 2nd market.
Depending where you are in the world they are not out of print everywhere.

is there a good alternative for "the chosen axes" ? maybe a seconf vanguard box or something else?
Only 160 pts can add pretty much a unit of anything else on foot or an alternate hero.
