This is so cool! Now I see the legend behind getting a crazy fast time against Rufus in Rebirth, you were doing awesome speed skills in part 1 as well ! 😁

This has to be the fastest way to defeat this boss on Hard mode. I've struggled in the past with it. Great strategy and a great video too.
Thank you, I appreciate that! Note that you can easily shave a few seconds off this time if you order Barret to cast lightning spells as well. I was limited in the number of materia to equip because of the community challenge rules. But without any materia restrictions, Barret can dish way more damage.
@@unscathedhero8884 I think what made this ever more challenging was the Community Challenge Rules. Limiting yourself to only a few materia and pulling this off in that time frame was the best thing about this. I just Platinumed it again btw. Awaiting Intergrade and the next update for this marvelous game.
@@sudhanshusharma82 indeed, having access to a limited number of materia and being forced to choose between ATB Stagger, ATB Assist and Skill Master definetly made this harder, but it was fun figuring out. The Reddit Challenge group really helps keeping things interesting while we wait for Intergrade and part 2.

Yea same! I used up almost all of Aerith's MP during Jenova Dreamweaver fight so I had to put MP Absorb Materia on to slowly gain MP back XD

How are you able to change your equipment in the beginning of the fight? I paused as soon as I could and I get that "in combat" screen.
There is a cut scene with barret and tifa, so just look at the bottom left corner of your screen it will ask you to press a button to access your menu

Pretty much, Barret basically clocked out after Catastrophe. Aerith is a beast!

Hey Raven Heart. As soon as the fight starts you need to press R3 to lock-on. In most cases, you should target the rear drone by default as it is the one in front of barret. If you don't automatically lock onto the rear drone, you might have to flick R3 upwards to select it. If you don't target the rear drone specifically you'll hit arsenal and waste Catastrophe.
Once locked onto the rear drone, order Barret to do Catastrophe and it should damage all three drones. You should hit the rear drone even if it is slightly covered by arsenal. As long as you've targeted it you'll be fine. Depending on your physical attack stat and whether you have elemental materia equipped on your weapon, your damage will vary. At the very least you can normally get all 3 drones down to half health with a maxed out wrecking ball on Barret. Proper materia selection will boost this but isn't necessary.
