@noogies5343 The braver I discovered by mistake. Over 50% of the time, you can hit Rufus at the start of the fight with braver. You just have to play the RNG. You can also lure him into melee attacks by remaining close to him. While the timing is strict, you can manually evade his physical attacks, which leave him open to braver.

@@unscathedhero8884 wow I see, but the timing is so accurate, seems that's the only way to defeat him quickly since his attack annoying enough...Anyway does Counterstance effective against him, have you try it too?

@@noogies5343 I haven't tested counterstance on all of Rufus' attacks, but it does work on several and should. That being said, counterstance is reactive, which isn't ideal in this fight if your goal is speed. Counterstance works well when Rufus comes out of pressure state.

@@unscathedhero8884 oh, it's okay...yesterday I have test Counterstance against Roche and it works well...on first encounter against Rufus I didn't know yet what to do so let see if Counterstance can counter him enough and his move is quick enough, I didn't think can land Braver accurate like that, so probably Counterstance may be worth to try 😅 also, that Aeroga spell is sick enough, gotta try with that spell too later...!

@noogies5343 good luck! Remember, Braver at the very start has about a 50% chance of hitting him. So it may be worth it to just do that and reset the fight if you are unlucky. You can easily take like 30 to 40% of his HP away at the very start with a lucky braver.

@emptymelodies3316 You saw that, huh? Honestly, everything Aerith and Tifa did after Cloud's Thundaga at the start of phase 2 was all AI. From Tifa slip and sliding to Aerith hopping into the ward, all AI. I was in AWE! You can actually notice me freezing for a moment in amazement. All I did was order Aerith to cast Aeroga after she landed in the ward. All of my previous runs had me manually switch to Aerith to warp her to the ward, which made sub 40 impossible. But sometimes, magic happens! I appreciate your comment. I love this run and am happy someone noticed the magic!

honestly it looked very optimized and amazing as always to me ! haha. Sadly I can never implement plasma discharge in my videos. The effects actually hurts my eyes 😔 even when trying to lower brightness, it just really bothers my eyes. Thank you very much! Although, I can't claim all the credit here. The AI was on point in phase 2. From Tifa and Aerith expertly dodging Rude's shock waves to moving into the Arcane Ward, they were flawless and truly made the sub 40 possible.

It’s a different art, and requires lots of patience and planning 😅 and you’re right there is lots of solo no damages, so it’s nice to see how team no damages work too! Looking forward to Bahamhut vid. I watched your Gi Nattak no damage, using curaga to stop him from attacking was just genius. Idk why I didn’t pay attention to that in enemy intel haha, great run!

@RE_Prince_Vegeta glad you liked my Gi Nattak video. Yeah, Curaga is cheap and stuns like any ga spell would. Sometimes unconventional works. As for Bahamut video, it's already out you can check it out. I released it earlier. It should be just before my Gi Nattak no damage run.

The goal was to beat the boss under 50 seconds with a full party without taking damage and without abusing mutiple limit break tricks with Gotterdamerung and/or HP<->MP materia. If you feel I am doing it wrong, you are welcome to show me how it's done. If my strategy is easy, you are also welcome to best it with the same restrictions. Looking forward to seeing your run!

@@unscathedhero8884 The Genji Gloves can be just as powerful and useful as the Gotterdammerung and hp mp limit break spams if you know what you're doing. If you're gonna put restrictions on op accessories, then I ask why are you using 1 of the most op accessories? Does this mean anyone else who hasn't got the Genji Gloves can't participate in a speed run of this boss? Just curious to how this all works.

@fluffybuns2001 I do agree Genji Gloves are good. However, from a no damage standpoint, Gotterdamerung, and HP<->MP materia are strictly better because limit breaks confer invincibility frames. Genji Gloves hit hard, but don't make you impervious to damage. As the title my video states, the point is no damage withba full party as fast as possible. Those are the limitations I gave myself go8ng into this. Had I allowed gotterdamerung and/or HP<->MP materia, it would have been MUCH easier. Honestly, it would've been laughable. No damaging this boss without Genji Glove is likely doable. But under 50 secs? Doubtful. Anyone who doesn't have the Genji Gloves can of course try this challenge, and will succeed. @@unscathedhero8884 I agree about the no damage part, but you can get through this entire fight with only having to block or dodge only 2 attacks, so the invincibility frames is not a big deal (for this fight) I actually believe the Genji Gloves are more op for this fight.

@fluffybuns2001 As interesting as this comparison between Genji Glove and Gotterdamerung is,(and it genuinely is) I think we'll have tonagree to disagree. But I also think our discussion about which accessory is more OP overlooks what is more important in my run. In fact, you actually alluded to it when mentioning the limited number of attacks Galian Beast manages to perform; and that is stunlocking and attack interruption. It is subtle, but it was actually the biggest part of my strategy. It is actually far more crucial than choosing between accessories. You'll notice that my firagas from Caith Sit stunlock the boss. As soon as they do I get the chance to charge spell blade to boost Cloud and Aerith's ATB. The spell blade also interrupts Galian Beast's next attack (indicated by the red text). I then wait for his next attack before unleashing Firaga again. Basically, you can continue to do this by switching between Cloud/Aerith and Aerith/Caith Sit using synergy skills to interrupt/stunlock the boss while building ATB and unleashing Firaga with whoever once you have ATB. This is actually the important aspect of this run IMHO, more so than the choice in accessory in ensuring none of my party sustained damage.

Oh wow, thank you. Well, hopefully all the boss runs I post can help you out. I am slowly going through the chapters. Hard mode comes down to maxing out your materia and getting the best gear. Don't give up!

Hellions intonement made me quit today. I'm seeing if I missed anything. 10 round BRUTALS are broken and boring repetitive trash IMO. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong since I've played hellions over 90 times and gotten to round 10, strange attacks and automatically dying in one to two hits, not fun, not worth my time. Story was sufficient.

I tend to agree, these 10 round brutal challenges are just too long.

BTW I've included an updated no damage run for this boss. It's much faster, at 56 seconds.

By all means, please do. Note that there is plenty of room for improvement. Notably, adding more materia to Barret would be a good start.

Yea same! I used up almost all of Aerith's MP during Jenova Dreamweaver fight so I had to put MP Absorb Materia on to slowly gain MP back XD

There is a cut scene with barret and tifa, so just look at the bottom left corner of your screen it will ask you to press a button to access your menu

Thank you, I appreciate that! Note that you can easily shave a few seconds off this time if you order Barret to cast lightning spells as well. I was limited in the number of materia to equip because of the community challenge rules. But without any materia restrictions, Barret can dish way more damage.

@@unscathedhero8884 I think what made this ever more challenging was the Community Challenge Rules. Limiting yourself to only a few materia and pulling this off in that time frame was the best thing about this. I just Platinumed it again btw. Awaiting Intergrade and the next update for this marvelous game.

@@sudhanshusharma82 indeed, having access to a limited number of materia and being forced to choose between ATB Stagger, ATB Assist and Skill Master definetly made this harder, but it was fun figuring out. The Reddit Challenge group really helps keeping things interesting while we wait for Intergrade and part 2.

Hey Raven Heart. As soon as the fight starts you need to press R3 to lock-on. In most cases, you should target the rear drone by default as it is the one in front of barret. If you don't automatically lock onto the rear drone, you might have to flick R3 upwards to select it. If you don't target the rear drone specifically you'll hit arsenal and waste Catastrophe. Once locked onto the rear drone, order Barret to do Catastrophe and it should damage all three drones. You should hit the rear drone even if it is slightly covered by arsenal. As long as you've targeted it you'll be fine. Depending on your physical attack stat and whether you have elemental materia equipped on your weapon, your damage will vary. At the very least you can normally get all 3 drones down to half health with a maxed out wrecking ball on Barret. Proper materia selection will boost this but isn't necessary.
