Hey Rick, Love the fact that u share your knowledge about, not just Drones, but electronics, and everything in between all , Plz keep up the great work.
I have 4 of these now plus bought my daughter 1, all of them came with wall plugs & cables though, box was bigger though, they are SO MUCH better than the other couple we bought there’s no comparison, me & wife have X S Max’s daughter has S9, great product great video
Thanks Rick, the Anker charger looks to do the job for multiple types of phones. They makes nice reliable products at a fair price, thanks again. Wishing you and your family a Very Happy, Safe, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!
Stefan, thanks for the post and I'm glad you enjoyed the clip. I have a lot of fun with these and cheese seemed like a good metric for me. Stop back soon as I have more content posting! Rick
#DroneVally I love the way you review products, and cheese slices are the way to go, and now I am trying to think of other ways to use them. I have been looking for something like this. I have a few Anker products and love them. I have to say though I did not think Anker was this far advanced. So this makes me happy to see and I got mine coming now!
Thanks, Rick for your quick reply. I just purchased the Zendure A8. I am looking into how I can charge my Phantom 4 and Mavic 2 batteries in the field. I would like to test how much charge it would take to charge a Drone battery. Anyway thanks, again.
You are simply one of the best reviewers on the internet, as usual very well presented Rick. I wish you Good health and much Love & Joy to you and your family in the Happy Marry Happy new year. Cheers from yu mate Spike (OutBack country) Wild Western Australia
You are a great presenter! Even though you included lots of information quickly, you made everything easily understandable! You also covered all of the important points. I was leaning towards the Anker, but thanks to your top-notch explanation/review, there is NO DOUBT this a high-quality charger I want to buy! Thanks for including a link to Amazon...great price for this charger! Thank you for a great clip! I think you could review lots of products, you may want to expand your channel. I just subscribed. 😀
Question- I was going to get this for my husband...they say there is a "newer model" which i guess is the Anker Wireless Charger, PowerWave 7.5 Stand, Qi-Certified, Fast Charging iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max, XR, Xs Max, Xs, X, 8, 8 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S10 S9 S8, Note 10 Note 9 (No AC Adapter) . I was going to get this and then purchase the additional adapter (Quick Charge 3.0, Anker 18W 3Amp USB Wall Charger (Quick Charge 2.0 Compatible) Powerport+ 1 for Galaxy S10/S9/S8/Edge/Plus, Note 8/7, LG G4, HTC One A9/M9, Nexus 9, iPhone, iPad and More)) when I noted in the adapter small print "Fast-Charging Technology: PowerPort+ 1 guarantees the fastest possible charge to any smartphone or tablet, thanks to Quick Charge 3.0 and PowerIQ technology. (Does not support fast-charging for iPhone 8 and above but will charge at normal speed.)". This is all gobbeldygook to me...lol...and I can't ask my husband because it is FOR him! Anyway...He has an iphone 8plus --who knows if/when he will upgrade...so it SOUNDS to me like the iphone 8plus isn't capatible for high speed? So if not, 1-do i need the newer model charger? 2) do i need the special wall adapter? and 3) it looks like you also need to get a cord for between the charger and the adapter...sigh...and it looks like there is a "high speed" one of those but if Im not using high speed then is that necessary? I don't want to spend a ton of money getting all this stuff he doesnt need but I also don't want to buy less than what he could use now and later with upgrades. HELP SOMEONE PLEASE! This should be so simple but its not. Too many moving parts and small print. Thank you!!!
Anker could have made this style somewhat better at zero cost by moving the power LED to the right and notching the center for USB cable clearance. That lets you charge the phone while connecting it to ANY PC or other device including those which lack fast charging. I did it easily by opening the case (as you would any phone back though more force may be required, a pocket knife and spudgers did it for me), drilling the right side for the LED, relocating it, then reassembling the phone and filling the notch with Sugru (which sticks well to Anker plastic. Now I can charge the phone while leaving USB OTG devices connected like flash drives, hubs without charging and other accessories. Works great hotspotting during a power outage as I can tether the phone to any device while charging via the charger off a power brick, jump pack or small inverter and a car battery and of course on the go when working away from shore power. Another trick I combine with that one is holding the charger in a RAM mount (I've several in my trucks and mounted to my desks) to hold it firmly and reduce clutter.
this is one accessory I truly need as my kids break my cables ore pinch them off me and lose em lol.i forget how many I gone through pluss cables break easy at the end after many times bending.great review buddy.thanks for info.
Very helpful review! My Samsung 10+ with an Otterbox Commuter case plus a Thinoptics eyeglass holder attached to the back of the case is too thick for the Belkin Wireless Charging Stand. Based on the 3 slices of cheese test, I am going to order this Anker model and see if it will charge.
George, I like it a lot. It's a little large for me and I tend to stay around the 10,000 mAh mark for portability. The larger ones are great for longer trips or more power-hungry devices like tablets or laptops. There are 3 companies that I love, Anker, Zendure and VogDuo. All three of the make amazing products that I've been using for quite a while. I actually have a 10,000 mAh power bank from VogDuo that I'm testing now and will have a review posted for next week. I hope that helps, Rick
Rick, can the Anker PowerPort Speed 4 Wall Charger (which I purchased to power this charging stand) be used to charge Osmo Mobile (1st gen) batteries, which have a maximum supported USB charging current of 2.1A? And, if so, the quick charge port, the 3 non-quick ports, or both?
Nice thorough review. The one thing I would love to know is how much Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) this puts out. I am a ham and a shortwave listener and the current wireless charger I have can almost completely wipe out all radio signals within the area where I have it setup. Does anyone reading these comments have any experience with RFI and this particular charger?
Looking at this charger for my wife's birthday. I will need a charging block so do I need a 3.0 amp out put like the anker 18w, or will a 2.0 amp output be enough to get the fast charging on her s9? Lookiing for a quick response so I can order this. Thanks, and great video.I subbed.
Larry, I'd recommend you go with the 18W charger. Having the extra current means that you'll be able to use it with any future phone you want to charge as well as other USB devices. Here's a great Anker one on Amazon that would work well with the charging stand - amzn.to/2YJ9gvF. Thanks a lot for the post and I appreciate you subbing the channel. Rick
Hey Rick nice video.I have an iPhone X with a case that holds 3 credit cards on the backside. Will the magnetic strips on the cards mess with the charger?
Thanks for stopping by and I'm glad you enjoyed the clip. I like using cheese since almost everyone can relate to that thickness. Stay tuned for more clips and reviews this week. Rick
FYI the wireless charging standard Qi is pronounced "chee", I used to pronounce it "key" until many tech-tubers taught/informed the rest of us of the proper pronunciation. Wikipedia also says it's pronounced "chee". Happy flying back at you from Southwest Florida!
Tim, thanks for the pronunciation and I'll be sure to try and remember that. I've always called it a "kwee" standard and now I know the right way to pronounce it. Hope you're getting some great airtime with your quads. Rick
It will work fine as long as there in no metal on the back of the case. It can charge through a very thick case so you should be fine. Thanks for the post and be sure to sub the channel. Rick
Joey, thanks for the post and I'm going through the contests that have ended and picking a winner for each. I'm sending emails to the winners to let them know and when they respond I consider the contest ended. Once I have worked my way through all of them this week, I'll be posting a Vlog announcing the group of winners on the channel. Still time to enter on a few of them so good luck!
Thanks for the post and I'm not sure what you meant by that but I never "like" comments. Other posters will like posts by other commenters so I guess that's what you're seeing. I hope you'll stop back soon for more content.
Anker makes good products and has a reputation for great service. However, it should ne noted that the charge rate will decrease the thicker the after market case is. It will charge much faster thru 1 slice of "cheese" than it will 2 or 3, so thin cases are better than thick ones. Also the electrical resistance of the case material will effect the charge rate. For example the Dielectric properties of rubber are different than those of plastic. Cell phone manufacturers use optimal materials in their wireless charging phones but aftermarket case makers, not so much. Also because you claim the use of a proper charge brick is important (and it is), I think Anker should provide an optimum charger brick. If this unit does not charge at a satisfactory rate I'll bet the customer bad mouths the Anker charger and not the brick.
John, I totally agree with you and the challenge that both Anker and the companies that make phones have is that so much of this charging technology is out of their hands. Customers get to decide on the type of case and charger they choose, both of which can dramatically affect the charging rate. I tried to recommend the right charger in the clip of at least 2 amps or a QC 3.0 but it's ultimately up to the customer. I've had so many friends and family members tell me that wireless charging doesn't work for them only to discover they were using an old charger or had a metal plate in their case to adhere to a dashboard mount. Hopefully the clip helped to sort some of this out and I appreciate the post. Rick
I just got one yesterday and I love it
Bought this charging stand works great with our phones. Very good product

That cheese trick is surpisingly helpful. I thought it would've been a joke but that actually makes sense
The universal cheese-slice test!! It's a three-slices charger!
Love it! Thanks Rick!

Great review. I was wondering if this would work with my Otterbox case, now I know!
Glad I could help! We did a lot of testing on this charging base and it's still going strong on my desk!

I’m using one of these with their Anker PowerPort 5 usb charger to charge my new iPhone XR and it’s brilliant.

Hi Rick, Great review. What do you think of the Zendure (A8PD 26,800mAh Portable Charger with USB-C Input/Output)?

Will this stand work with a magsafe case?
Anker chosen a Gr8 spokenman for the company. Good explanation always

W5MRM as a ham I wonder the same thing. Guess it’s a plus that it turns off the coils when not in use.
Does led change color when phone is charged?

Best reviewer!! Thanks for sharing
love the cheese specification lolol
Happy New Year Rick!
Rick, great review as usual. The cheese test. Brilliant! I have the Otterbox Defender. The ultimate test. Lol

How long does it take to charge a samsung phone?
Great explanation. I bought one for the office.
Does it make ur phone hot
As always another great review Rick
You had me at the American cheese 🧀. Anker stuff always seems to work well for me and their products are affordable.
Nice video Rick Happy New Year
Happy New Year to you too Uncle Buck!
Can I use this with my iPhone X charger?
Thanks Rick
Good Video, sir! Thank you a Lot!

It will work fine as long as there in no metal on the back of the case. It can charge through a very thick case so you should be fine. Thanks for the post and be sure to sub the channel. Rick
Three slices? Sold!
Does it Charge the Samsung Note 9??
Loved your Cheese test! Very Cool to think of that..
Great review Rick!
Awesome Thank you for sharing!

the downside is that it does not charge airpods or other wireless ear phone cases, unless yopu put something to keep it in the middle

By the time phone is done charging you'll also have some melted cheese... Nothing about power bricks though
mine isn't connecting =/
