This INSANE 4x4 Trail Snapped Our Winch Line!!! The Entire Group Needed An Off Road Recovery!!!

- We break a winch line on an intense PNW trail! 4 wheeling in the Pacific Northwest is my favorite. We have a ton of short trails that really test the capability and durability of your off road rig. This was a group of very capable 4x4s, with me being the smallest on a set of 39's. Everybody got stuck multiple times and had to winch! Throughout the day there was a point where every single rig needed an off road recovery. It was awesome! Great weather, great people and great trails in today's video! I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed filming it!

I’m so glad you took on RUclips full time. It’s paying off so quickly. Your quality has shot up exponentially !!
Thanks! Me too, This has been a ton of fun
Damn the quality of your content has shot up over the year!!!
Thanks man!
Need a build/walk around video on rubber ducky! All the jeeps in this group are awesome!
Agreed! I'll ask him 👍
I agree Nate!!!
You might have missed your calling as a filmmaker.
Thanks! I really enjoy it
The way I see it, he is a filmmaker 😂
He is a film maker and professional too, your not thinking hollywierd I hope.
This was put together SO well dude. Kudos man, keep it up.
Agreed. Best Jeep channel on the Tube
Man that was one funky looking trail.
Great video quality, i swear each video just gets better and better.
Thank you!
Dude i don't think people give you enough credit for the quality of your content! legit stuff man! Those intros are sick.
Much appreciated! One day folks will discover this channel lol. Wheeling videos are a newer trend here, I just need to do more of them. Thanks for watching man 👍
Dirt Lifestyle with the quality of your videos man it’ll be no time! I’ll keep watching!
Your videos are looking great. Keep up the good work I love watching your videos.
Thank you!
That’s a great trail
Agreed!
That intro, I mean the whole video but, that intro 👌
Knots will decrease a ropes strength by 50%...random fact I learned from the navy.
I've heard the same. I'm just the guy with the camera so it wasn't my call. I think ryan just did what he had to to get off the trail. The knot held so it was the right decision 👍
Dirt Lifestyle you gotta do what ya gotta do out on the trails..I’m just putting random, semi relevant facts out there..cheers!
@@DirtLifestyle It takes a few more minutes than a knot, but with synthetic winch line it's very easy to just re-splice a new eye onto the broken end (and it's extremely straightforward to learn how - might make for a good video) and that way your trail-repaired line doesn't lose a bunch of strength, unlike the knot method - which is important if you might find yourself winching again that day. Knots don't always fit through the fairlead, either. You can even splice the two broken ends back together if you need the length, though it takes a bit longer. Some guys carry a splicing tool ("fid") in the glove box, but you can make do with a thin pen and some tape.
Keep up the great videos! You've got one of the best 4x4 channels out there.
Depends on the knot. All of them are weaker than the line by itself but they vary significantly. Figure you'll loose 20% at a min and up to 50% for some knots. You can find plenty of charts and testing data with a quick search, especially among the climbing and sailing sets.
@@BerserkerCatSplat tape and a stick will work in a pinch
Your channel has some of the best video/editing quality! Keep it up man I love seeing how far you’ve come!
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Tough trail
Great video, Nate! P.S. Still waiting for Franz's build video :)
I'm sending him this comment as we speak lol. I'm waiting for him to finish his build
Kick ass content man, keep it up! Really enjoying all the videos.
Thank you!
FRAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNZZZZZ!!!! Good stuff man, even better with the Toyotas in it 👍👍👍
Would love to see a feature on that single axle trailer!
Any plans to make a video about the pros/cons of ORI struts vs coilovers.
No plans as of yet
I miss old reiter pit place was awesome!
Thanks for posting! Looks like a lot of fun, one of these days I need to load up my KTM 200 and do some riding out there, I hear there’s miles of trails 👍 hello from the Olympic peninsula!
Looks like a great trail. Great video man
Thanks!
I love the music in this video!!
Thank you!
Look like a place I want to go
@runberducky_tj looks sick in the thumbnail almost thought it was a rc
the production value of this video is on another level. I have an Idea: maybe overlay a map at the beginning of the video when you show GPS coordinates. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! I have a few ideas like that but I'm still learning how to do all these editing tricks 👍
When you coming to Canada? We got some awesome trails out here in bc, love the videos! Would love to come down to Reiter with you guys once the borders open back up lol
I really want to! Hopefully sooner then later!
Always good videos.
Thank you!
Awesome video yet again and a quick question... in your opinion do u think an AW4 transmission is strong enough to handle dana 60's with 37's for mostly road use?
Stepping up your RUclips game EVERY video 👊👊👊👊 you are killing it brother nice work
Thanks man!
Franz is all the proof you need for Toyota reliability. Now I’ve got to figure out how to get a 22re to turn a 40...
Watch the video from the gruesome 2some they had a ball joint indicating shim to correct the tire leaning out 😎
Love the rubber ducky set up, it's cool
Good stuff
Thanks!
Next time I am going to Reiter I hope to see you there. I live in Oregon now but I am sure we know a lot of the same people if you wheel there often.
Good to see Rubber Duck added to your crew
He is great! 🤘
It's crazy how capable that ruberduky tj is, one of the most capable full body tj I've ever seen
Thanks for that! Unfortunately I got stuck a ton that day, Driver mod needed 🤣
Another epic vid Nate. Your filming and editing skills are improving by leaps and bounds. You started out far better than any other channels, but now you've eclipsed them by miles.
How about a walk-around of Rubber Ducky? It looks like a well thought-out build.
Keep em' coming. Loving every second of footage.🤙
Thank you very much for the big compliment! I'm always trying to improve from each video 👍. You are right about Rubber ducky TJ. I need to do a walk around
Great trial nice video and beautiful women in yellow jeep ;)
Thanks!
Reiter don't play. I've broken a CTM on "broke it" before it was named anything. Aptly named.
No it don't!
I'm glad somebody is out having fun our stupid governor extended the stay at home again now it's middle of June. Got my Dirt Lifestyle stickers installed the other day, I put them on the back side windows, black on tinted black windows very subtle and I love the look. PEACE
Nice man! Thanks for supporting the brand 👊
The production quality is topnotch. You have seriously upped your game.
Thank you!
I haven't commented in a while, but I'm still here. That was a beautiful video, you are a master of your craft.
Thank you very much for the support and the kind words 👊
And btw, push your merchandise a bit... I’d buy it to 1. Support you and the channel as it’s awesome and 2. It’s cool sh%t.
Thank you for the suggestion. You are right, we should promote our products more 👊
That new intro is great! Your production skills are getting better all the time, so hopefully that translates to having to spend less time doing it, and more time with family. You should plan a Meet n Greet on a camping trip. Start small and watch what happens...
Thank you! Lots of work! I'm trying to iron out the details on a meet and greet 👍
Trails in Florida are pretty lame. You get some mud and thats about it. Most of state forest roads are closed to vehicles and you will get tickets if you try them
Stoked you guys are hitting up Reiter more, one of the best spots in the PNW but that's my opinion. I just moved to the 253 and I haven't been to elbe yet.
I agree, reiter is outstanding 🤘
Great video please go back and explore alot more trails there. Keep the wheeling and building videos coming and thank you always look forward to the next.
Thank you! I definitely plan on it 👍
As always, love your videos... It just deeply saddens me and pisses me off to see all those trees damaged by people not using treesavers and just wrapping their winch lines around the trees. Living on the east coast you learn to respect and care for them since we don't have very many old growth trees like ya have out west.
I couldn't agree more! This kind of laziness is why they take land away
Another awesome video! The videos you’re cranking out just keep getting better and better. Loved all the different views you got
Thank you!
Love the new intro Nate. It reminds me of something you would see on the Discovery or History channel. Well done!
Thank you!
I know I say this a lot, but very nice work editing man. Your videos just flow so well, the music choices that i dont think i'd ever come to, work out perfectly. Great job as always. I had to drag my wife over here to show her the woman gettin it in rubberducky too!
Thanks buddy! Ryan's wife is not shy behind the wheel lol. She is a bad ass!
@@DirtLifestyle Certainly seems that way!
Dude, is there any chance of you making a Spotify playlist of the music you use? Your choice in music is mint.
I'm not sure how to do that brother! And I don't have spotify yet
Nice vid, loved the music brah🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks buddy!
Love the music! Like to see you changing it up a little, not that the previous stuff was bad... Great day on the trails!!
Thank you!
Dang was the xj not part of your group or could they not follow along? I was hoping to see how they did on the obstacles lol
No xj in our group this time 👍
Awesome trail man! Love the video production
Thanks!
Your photography is outstanding......great video.....great images....great jeeps....👌
Thank you very much! I appreciate it!
What transfer case and t case gears are you running?
I have an atlas 4 speed with a 5.44:1 final 👍
@@DirtLifestyle cool, I knew it had to be atlas haha
Nate (or anyone) what do you think about cheap lift shackles? I found a guy that makes rear shackles for ~30 USD. Branded shackles are around 150-200! 30 to try is not a problem, but damaging other parts is my concern.
Hey man. Unfortunately this is an impossible question to answer. The cost means nothing, it's the quality that is the important factor. No way for us to tell if this random guy has good quality but high quality shackles can be made cheap. Good luck! 👍
Dirt Lifestyle
I’ll go check them out then. Thanks.
Time to go to 54” tires 2:05.
Great video. I like watching y'all crawl and trail ride but I hafto ask are some of those trails man made because this I looked around and didn't see a whole lot of big rocks like y'all were crawling over. It's fine if it is I just noticed that it was different.
Thanks! Most of this park is man made
Dirt Lifestyle tough trail
The real mystery is why you don't already have a million subscribers or more!
Lol thanks brother 👊😁
and thank you for "lets pull winch i've got three more rigs to get through" that does save the repair work that has to go into the trails after trying to "send it a little too hard" .
I'm a big fan of using the winch when neccessary and I try to make that decision as quickly as possible. My ego isn't wrapped up in whether or not my Jeep makes it up every obstacle lol.
Man being from Seattle I never knew there were trails like that up there until I started watching your videos keep up the good work .... P.S. did you ever shoot an email to OXUSA for some lockers?
Thanks brother! I have been going back and forth with them. Still no solid answer. I'm going to hit them up Monday and try to get to a conclusion. It's the only thing I'm waiting on for the axle swap on the rover 👊
@@DirtLifestyle that would be sweet to see those on the rover it's looking good hopefully they will work with you. If your ever down around Reno NV hmu I could give you few local trails to run.
What camera's are you using? The quality is awesome!!
Cannon xc-15, cannon eosr and gopro fusion 🤘. Thanks man!
That was outstanding filming just the perfect music and the slow mo stuff just 👌cool.
Absolutely love your jeep 😍 if you could just stick a stamp on it and pop it in the post for me 😁 that would just be wonderful thank you 😊
Lol thanks brother 👊
@Dirt Lifestyle 😀 should I be expecting something in the post 🤪🙏🤣
Video quality is very crisp! I like it I wish it was longer.
Thank you!
your editing it getting so much better dude! that intro was awesome!
Thanks man!
Awesome video, I love the intro and the quality you put into the videos
Thank you!
damn, the amount of cuts in your videos. how long on average does it take you to edit each episode nate?
Lol it depends. This one probably has 20hrs or so. It takes alot of hours to get a good 10 minutes of content
@@DirtLifestyle wow! you spent 20hrs at the computer editing this episode. i thought my edits were time consuming. thanks for the response. you give a lot to look up to on this youtube thing. #ImFailing BAHAHAHAHA
Who makes those front armor that goes between the door and the front fender?
I'm not sure unfortunately
Awesome shots!! Must be hard to get those action shots with a prime lense!
Thank you! Very difficult lol
Very interesting video bro's
I’m a Suzuki guy, but i really love your TJ😍. Awesome with trail video👍
Thank you! I'm also a Suzuki guy lol in all honesty I like anything 4x4👍
Just think of the TJ as a 125% Zuk - and who doesn't love a tin-top Sammi???
My mind is blown! I can’t believe you guys were winching between those two trees all while on top of that much rubble. Serious skills!
Thank you! It's a tough trail!
what did you do to get a power steering pump to work on the brm engine?
It's a jeep power steering pump but from pse 👍
Need more with the Boyz hopefully I can join y’all sometime and help out
I really enjoy this channel. It's nice to see people who know their vehicles and actually know how to drive trust me its not common haha. If you are ever in New Zealand, we will have to show you around.
Quick question, how does rubber ducky and 6oh like the ORI's ?
I'm not sure. I haven't heard him complain but you could hit him up on social media. @rubberduckytj 👍
@@DirtLifestyle unfortunately I don't have any social media stuff lol
I absolutely love them. So does Matt. Lol
@@rubberduckyTJ hey thanks for the reply, I've been looking at putting a set on my dodge I've three linked the front and gonna do the same to the rear
Cool to see you guys back at reiter... I miss old Reiter but some amazing people built some great trails 👍
Wow killer content. Never disappointed.
Thank yoh!
Subscribed!! Your content is awesome.
Thank you! I'm happy to have you 👊
Good video. Minor criticism: I'd rather just listen to the engine sounds instead of all the music. I'm so tired of needless music being forced into wheeling videos. I had to skip through the music parts.
Great vid Nate! Keep up the good work! You gotta hit up Walker Valley man, they have a 4x4 skills area that would be great for some vids.
I plan on heading back up there later this summer 👍
I am a big fan of your channel also really like muddy beards , and lightbrite but I can see your jeep can overcome more obstacles than lightbrite ,what do you think is missing on their jeep
First
Man the quality of this video is superb!
Thank you!
Is that a 360 cam I see?
Yes it is! It's so annoying to use but gets some one of a kind angles
Dirt Lifestyle what one is it? Insta 360?
Slight bit of criticism, the channel intro kinda messed up the stuff before it. i was vibing to that lady's blues lol
🔥
You do a great job at picking camera angle. I like the music too. It fits the scenes well.
Thank you!
I hope to be out there soon
Hey Nate, are you wheeling on a stock cage?
Kind of. Stock with some additional support I built. 👍
I love your videos it's hard to find good wheeling and fab videos on youtube and your really close to me we should go wheeling sometime
Very professional editing btw
Thanks!
Sarah was GETTIN IT! Always love your videos Nate, and love seeing my friends in them too lol.
Keep up the great entertainment! I cant wait to drag my 80-series up to Reiter and see how badly I can destroy it!
Thanks man! Sarah does a great job!
Does rubber ducky have a RUclips channel
You need to come down to catahoula off-road here in central Louisiana, you’ll love it. I’d love to meet you one day.
Why does your Jeep look like an rc in the thumbnail 😂
LOOKS LIKE A BLAST !!!!
What front axle are you running a 44 or 60 dana?
I have a dana 44 front ford 9 rear and hopefully I can keep it that way lol
