I actually really liked Prince Philip. I felt so sorry for Queen Elizabeth when I saw her grieving alone. If it was my grandmother I would have broken Covid 19 restrictions and given her a huge hug. That was not fair. I did actually break the covid rules here in New Zealand. My grandfather had a heartattack and was rushed to hospital. He begged the nurses to let me see him and I remember taking off my gloves and holding his hand in reassurance. That and I vowed to my Nanna that I would look after him, when she had passed which was in 2017.
I cried so much as I watched HMTQ sitting alone as she grieved at the service. The was no one near her to offer comfort. Then the Christmas special where Catherine played FOR THOSE WHO ARENT HERE was such a poignant song and appropriate for that Christmas

The story of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip reminds me about the love story between Queen Victoria and Prince Albert. History is playing a beautiful love game in their cases.
Prince Philip was related to so many European royals that his DNA was used to identify the remains of Tsar Nicholas II along with the Tsar's wife and children. Such a lovely man with an absolutely fascinating history and lineage. He had a rough start as his family was exiled when he was a child, but he was a pillar of strength for his wife Queen Elizabeth II throughout her long reign.
He had more royal blood than the queen herself. In direct paternal line, he descends from Christian IX of Denmark and in direct maternal line, he descends from Queen Victoria. For this reason, among others, they should have given him the title of king consort.
I’ve been fascinated by Princess Alice since I first read a reference to her years ago in a book I was reading, and I immediately found a biography of her and was really stunned at the hardships she had suffered, even being put in a mental hospital against her will by her own mother. Even though Alice was pretty much deaf, she spoke several languages in a normal voice, which is quite an accomplishment. Princess, and later Queen, Alexandra, was also nearly deaf, so it ran in the family. And, of course, I laughed when I saw Prince Philip’s father, bc I learned where Charles got his ears!
Lol. You're right! I knew those ears looked familiar! I have often wondered how such a handsome man as Phillip could sire such an awkwardly unattractive man as Charles. Charles was not good looking even when he was young.
Prince Philip was one of the greatest men that ever lived. What a stoic, clever man. There are no words to describe how someone who lived his life could remain so kind and upbeat. What a great choice Elizabeth made and Anne is so like him. Bless the late Phillip and let’s hope Anne lives as long and has a happy life .Dear Anne don’t work so hard. Read Jung.
I absolutely love Prince Philip. They just don't make men like this anymore. He had a tough childhood, incredibly handsome and such a stoic, strong man. Who never complained. Total respect for him. Such a sharp witted man. I found him hilarious too. Total respect ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
So sorry that Prince Philip was an exiled prince who grew up without a home and principality of his own, but fate was kind to Philip, he went to England and met Elizabeth, and he married the Queen of the United Kingdom, and lived a wonderful life! God rest his soul, he was faithful to the end! ❤
It was that hard start that shaped his personality and gave him the strength of character and pragmatism to excel in his role in his and Britain's future at the world's stage. He would not have been what he was without those experiences
I really enjoyed this documentary. He was such a crucial part of Queen Elizabeth’s reign that’s not often talked about. He seemed really fun to be around, and lived a very eventful life. It’s sad that his sense of humor was always getting twisted by the press b/c his type of personality is a good addition in politics. Good for him for staying true to himself and never being afraid to speak his mind.
Prince Phillip was more Royal than any other Royal. He is the epitome of poise, grace, strength and character. Good documentary . Prince Philip was a man of strength and principles . Throughout his whole life he supported his wife , his family and his country . No wonder those stuffed suits and old men in the palace didn't like him but he just ignored that . He loved his wife and gave her confidence to do exactly as she had sworn to do . I'm sure history will admire him as I did . Every time you saw Queen Elizabeth look at him it was obvious she adored him .
Lovely program of Prince Phillip. He and the Queen were the same age as my parents. They went through WWII as well and I know how all of the world had a rough time with this. He was such a great help to Her Majesty and to their family. She had to take care of the Nation and he was in charge of the family. This was how they made it work and she depended on him. I am sure she missed him so very much those last months before she passed. She is now with him and their Fairy tale romance is still working. Enjoyed this very much.
I just have to comment again and say how much integrity Prince Philip had, and the fact even though he was born into wealth and privilege he still had a hard life growing up without he mother and father. I maybe an American and not allowed to pledge my allegiance to any monarch, but God Bless the Queen, the British Royal Family. I miss the Queen, anytime I think of her I become sad that she is not with us anymore, then I think of all the beautiful memories I have of her and I return to happiness. I would like to say also, God Bless King Charles, I believe he was berated by the British media, where as I think he has love in his heart. Love for his people and for the planet, no matter the Government you know that King Charles loves preservation of our mother earth. May I also say God Bless Prince William & Princess Catherine, I hope to be alive and well when I see his coronation. I know just as I feel, many Americans may not have pledged allegiances to the British Monarchy, but I know just like me we would protect the British Royal family even it meant our own deaths.
Prince Philip contributed to the stability of the British Royal Family. He did it by being his true self without trying hard. That makes him Great. Love from an avid fan of the BRF in Tokyo, Japan. 🥰
I know PRINCE PHILLIPS , KING CHARLES, PRINCE WILLIAMS, PRINCE HARRY, QUEEN ELIZABETH, PRINCESS KATE, they are all a wonderful wonderful people is very unbelievable so powerful family 👪 with a GOLDEN HEART ♥ I never saw that to other people, only THE JACKSON FAMILY 👪 AND THEM, AND THE KENYATTA FAMILY.
I use to love how he. Got. On. With catherine. Making her laugh on the balcony. The queen looked at her then him . Realizing he was the one making her laugh the queen just went back to waving to the people.
The secret to The Queens marriage to the Duke of Edinburgh was that he made her feel like a giddy little schoolgirl with his charms and she made him feel like the luckiest man on earth.
Simply amazing that courtiers and even the Queen mother looked down on this man when he had more royal blood corsing theough his veins than any of them.....
Prince Philip was always more interesting for me to learn about than Queen Elizabeth II. I always found his story and what he did as Prince of England very fascinating. He was very smart and handsome too. I wish we have someone like Prince Philip in America. He seemed like the type of royal the English would be proud of having in their government. Keep resting in peace.
And the Queens mother hated him, she had her nose he his business for over 50yrs, and was mean, just look at her mouth, she hated our precious Diana to.

This has cast light on Prince Phillip as a very brave man and sailor. If what was here about her desire to marry who she wanted is true, what a determined woman she was.
When King Charles (than Prince of Wales) visited Serbia, my country, he was gifted with Shakespeare dramas translated into Serbian on cyrillic letter. It was reported that he was very grateful, and he was talking very proudly aboout his ortodox origins, and about his paternal grandmother. ❤

Elizabeth having called her husband her "strength and stay all these years."
He was also a part of the British Royal family via his mother who was born February 25, 1885, in Windsor Castle.
Prince Philip were a educated , smart , well honoured, god fearing, respectful, honest, bold, intelligent, and a courageous leader . 🇯🇲🙏✌️
What a man, i hope he and Elisabeth are together now
I agree this was such a interesting and wonderful documentary.
I never saw the resemblance of William to his Grandfather until now....wow
I use to love how he. Got. On. With catherine. Making her laugh on the balcony. The queen looked at her then him
. Realizing he was the one making her laugh the queen just went back to waving to the people.
Beautiful
Beautiful
Thank you.
Prince Philip was beyond handsome!
i wonder what age Prince Charles was when HE criticized his parents and his upbringing, Around Harry’s age? 😮
Great couple. Great leader of Great Britain. God bless You and your family.
Thank you
He was HOT... Princess/Queen Elizabeth was a lucky girl
And the Queens mother hated him, she had her nose he his business for over 50yrs, and was mean, just look at her mouth, she hated our precious Diana to.
@@jeanniecooper7390 he was worth fighting for
I was scrolling the comments to see if anyone else thought so, too.😅
Yes. And quite the dandy. They must have had a spicy personal life. He put a smile on her face and a sparkle in her eye.
@@r.c.miller6161 well, they just needed 2, an heir and a spare.... they had hectic schedules and still managed to have 4. Your statement sounds accurate (lucky, lucky Lillibeth)
He was so handsome !and got. More handsome as he aged. I would love to have met him and the queen. Now wish i could meet will and kate, mike and zara, and sophie and edward. 😊 perhaps in the here after.his charisma shows through even in old photos.
Will FOREVER be remembered as protector of and very good chum with Sir J. Savile. who bragged of being a suppler to royalty. British through and through. What was the name of that girl?
This has cast light on Prince Phillip as a very brave man and sailor. If what was here about her desire to marry who she wanted is true, what a determined woman she was.
Thank you 😊
I wish William and harry could watch where he came from. Even Charles should know his father had holes in his shoes.
I’m pretty sure the Duke’s son and grandsons know everything there is to know 🙄🤡
Charlie is goddam douse bag, whimpy, he's father knew what he was like, with his ho bag😂😂, he wouldn't have her in the same room, he'd spit haa😂
@@JGJGAGSG - The son(s), maybe; the grandson(s), don’t be so sure...
Lol. William and Charles know.
i just had to add this - did anyone else notice that especially when Philip was young the strong resemblance between him and prince William......
A magazine cover from french magazine Paris March, 1957, featuring Prince Philip, has resurfaced and it shows that Prince Harry is the spitting image of his grandad when he was a similar age.
A truly great man
Очень нравится Филипп красавец и умница и настоящий мужчина прожил сложную жизнь
Greatest hero King Philip
Prince Philip ❤❤ rip, you are one of a kind😊

Enjoyed documentary! Love the royals!!
Your memories will forever live on. 🇯🇲🙏✌️
WE admired HIM of HIS Remarkable Legacy , Duty to NATIONs . No one can ever do the things HE did . REST and PEACE you will be always remembered Thank You !!!!
Great documentary of Prince Philip what a good looking person tall and handsome. We can tell why the Queen fell in love with him despite he starts and came from penniless. If I will name a love song for the Queen and shall I say the King Consort is the ' Only You ' by Sinead O'Connor love them from the movie the young Victoria.
I ❤ Phillip! Thank you so much!
Love this . I know what a mother can do to make things hateful.
Just saw The Crown episode about part of his childhood, where he shows a Greek passport. He never had one. To be able to pass borders the Danish Royal Family provided him with a Danish passport
God bless you all family members and friends

Prince Phillip was the perfect choice for Princess Elizabeth 👸 couldn't have been a better match for future Queen Elizabeth
I cannot believe the amount of work and travel they did in their OLD age! I go to a 4 hr party, and I'm exhausted ( I am 65) LOL!
