Catching BIG Snook on Lures in the Surf, Fishing Turbulent Inlet Water

- Epic morning of catching Snook along the inlet that connects to the beach's turbulent surf water. I fished with lures for about three hours in a location where these spawning fish were hungry for what I was offering. At one point the Snook action was so intense that it was on average of about every third cast I was getting a strike or hooking up with a fish. I manged to land some big breeders during this early morning beach fishing adventure.
I caught the largest fish on a white jig that has a blue and green long tail. It was a one and a half ounce size lure that I was just reeling in on a steady retrieve when the big mama managed to hammer it hard in the shallows.

During the entire summer these Snook will be spawning along the beach shores and inlet surf. If you walk along the beach early in the morning you can usually see them in the through areas
. They usually look like big longs in the water.
Dont you just love that morning bite. No better way to start the day
Yes I do. I think sunrise is my favorite time to fish.
Danny Douglas, don’t complicate this. Step by step..... go to GOOGLE EARTH and look at the west coast or the east coast of Florida. Find an inlet. Track the beaches for 20 miles north or south of that inlet. Fish the beaches for 20 miles north or south of that inlet. Fish the trough or fast water if it’s close to the inlet, on that beach. Best time to try is before a storm and at the start of some dark clouds and rain. Don’t forget, best to first try with live bait. 1 croaker = 1 snook. If you don’t have croakers, try pinfish. JC has videos on how to catch these. When you get better, try jigs ( JC gave you the colors in the vid ) and when you get even better JC gave you the link to the lures. Add rod, reel, line, leader and hook ( JC also gave you the specs for these also), and good luck! Booyah!
Awesome video thanks for sharing
Snook machine! Great morning JC
Thanks for watching. Yeah, some times you find the good ones.
Another great video JC. Have fun on your vacation!
Thanks for watching and the encouragement.
Nice work man!! Did you find tail for your Spooltek?
Yes, Danny and Julio gave me some. Thanks for watching and asking. In the next video I catch a big Snook on a Spooltek and two more giants on a jig. I should have it up in a couple of days.
Man....i have been waiting for these vids...and it did not disappoint...this is the sickest snook vid i have seen so far...absolutely epic brother..keep them coming.
Epic is a great description. Thanks for watching.
Are those first light snook jigs? Anyone know where to get them around sanibel?
There is a guy on Instagram named hooked on jigs that sells a dozen for 30 dollars which comes out to 2.50 a jig.The only thing is the higher the weight of the jig the more expensive. Hope this helps.
You can get them at whitneys bait and tackle on sanibel.
They sure have pretty beaches in the Big Bend area. Glad to see you on the snookysnookysnooky....
i hate you, you're catching those big ones.lol.
Love you JC. Thanks for the vids brother. God bless you!
Great sound of that drag ripping
Awesome work man, keep it up. It is crazy how they go on a feeding frenzy and other times they don't want to touch anything. They follow the same pattern almost everywhere.
first
Hey nice video. Thanks for sharing. Also that's a Penn reel 6000? Or 8000?
Turbulence makes small baits drift erratically, tired. Likely snooks are there exactly to chase them. I love that Yo-zuri. Color and swimming style are perfect match. 👏👏👏
wow Great video Brother, glad your enjoying your vacation ...Blessings to you and your family Brother
Do the time and everything has to be perfect to catch snook on the beach I’m down in Fort Lauderdale and haven’t had any luck
I hope you figure them out. It takes time to find where they are and when the best tide is and time is to catch them.
@@RadReelingFishing I watched your videos last night and used the tips and I had hook a big snook but it broke me off still was a lot of fun !!!
@@BigbassgrabberDre Awesome
JC... are you having fun yet or what? So maybe try not to work... I mean to fish so hard... after all you are on vacation
awesome video JC thanks for sharing, that was a nice fish at 17:34
Thanks for watching Thonny. Yeah, there were some hungry giants in there for sure. I've never caught so many big Snook in just a few fishing trips.
love it man!! I gotta get back down there!
That is a memorable fish... although most of em are.
I would hazard to guess that you kinda enjoy snook fishing.😎
That’s really cool I have never had snook fishing like that.
Very nice summertime snook action,. Beautiful color on those fish.
I totally agree. I don't know if I'll ever experience another week like I had when I found these big Snook, epic, just amazing.
Wow, another incredible morning catching some jumbo Snook, nice! That last one was an absolute BEAST! Again, thanks for the post.
Yeah, it was a once in a lifetime for me. It's funny when we started posting videos the place got loaded with locals. I fished there for about two weeks and hardly saw anyone before posting the first vid. Thanks for watching.
What a nice beach snook J.C
Next time out try throwin' a big paddletail or swimbait. They tear those up in that swash area.
Thanks for the tip. Yeah, next video I actually catch three monster Snook and one of the was on a Spooltek.
God bless you and your family.. saw the Instagram pic and came to see the vid... you never disappoint.
Thanks for the blessings and for stopping by.
Nice fishing JC! Especially that last big mamma! Hope she lays lots of eggs out there and replenish what was lost with the red tide!
Thanks for watching. Yeah, we have been handling those big girls with extra care.
How far north in Florida and which coast? Snook don't go much further north than Daytona Beach on the east coast...
South west Florida. Thanks for asking.
Great action, what a blast!
Wow! One of if not the best video you've made to date. Great job.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I've never caught so many big Snook in one location in such a short period of time.
nice!!
Good stuff JC!
What tide do you normally go for Snook?
The fish are feeding on both tides. Thanks for asking.
Great video brother!! What inlet is this.
Thanks for watching and commenting. I don't reveal locations other than I'm on the SW coast of Florida.

Your using flair hawk jig?
Correct
Nice one JC
Crazy Snook bite in that hole. I haven't been over there in a couple of weeks. I went one afternoon after we started posting videos and the point was lined with ten fisherman.
Did you ever name your kayak
Rad Yak!
@@RadReelingFishing awesome after I suggested fishing machine I thought of RAD RYDER
Dude, I love that name too, awesome Rad Ryder.
How early do you get out there?
It depends on the tide. The Snook are feeding all day long in this location.
@@RadReelingFishing haven't had any luck lately will definitely try coordinating with the tide from now on
Where are you at
At a beach near an inlet
Florida
Nothing like those stout jigs for a solid hook-up and easy release. Nice job!
there's something that I noticed ---- the guys who make these video's never say where they are, How can we do what you do if the location is never said??!!
You can easily catch snook in every pass on the entire west coast of Florida
It dosent need to be the exact location. He said in the video inlets an beaches that are close to inlets.
The thing that would help me the most would be knowing what tide was selected and if its flooding or ebbing. That would be very helpful. Awesome video jc.
Lord forbid you have to go out and find your own spots on your own. Get off your phone and go put in the effort like he does to find the snook.
Yea theres noway he should give up locations. Dont forget this isnt just his hobby. What i do is i try to look for similar places around where i live. Ill drive ill google earth and try spots out. I havent been rewarded with a snook yet but hopefully.
Love the enthusiasm you give off
