  • Re-uploaded after a couple of quick edits. My apologies.
You may need a drink and some time.
This a looooong one, I know, but it has been much needed for a long time, and I've had to wait until this time to do it, which is explained in the vlog.
This last six months really has been tough, horrible in some ways and had an effect on everything. Our holiday in February, and my 50th birthday and our 10th wedding anniversary, all have been in this last six months too and were all therefore affected.
This is my sign in the road.

I honestly don't enjoy making videos like this. I'm a hippy with utopian aspirations at the core. This, however, was much needed. The last couple of years have been one thing after another, and what I outline in this has been the icing on a foul and pestilent cake. This was a long awaited purge. Glad I had a chance to do it. x

Only knowing you through 'Those Vegan Guys', it is obvious how gentle and caring you are and how determined you are to stand up for what you believe to be right. I always think something dodgy is going on when family members are allowed to work together. I studied social care and one of the first things we were tought was that family working together is not good practice because family will always cover for family even in bad cases of abuse. This definitely sounds to me like bullying and defamation of character. I am rooting for you to get justice Paul. No wonder you have been suffering with anxiety and stress. I think the worst bit of all of this is that they dared accuse you of assault and aggression. I only know you through your videos but I can tell you are a pacifist and a gentle and mild mannered soul. Keep fighting paul. Don't let them win. 😘😘😘

I've sadly been in a similar situation - lies being thrown here and there because I disagreed, made a point of standing for what's right, fighting for what is right (and I mean legally right!). No one tells you what a huge conflict such a false accusation, the lying, the bullying, the gaslighting at the workplace can have on a person. It's 6 years on for me and honestly, though I 'cleared my name', the wounds are still fresh. Please know you did the right thing, being a person of integrity is what matters. Those people won't be able to look themselves in the mirror. But you will, and you will walk with your shoulder back, head up high, knowing you are a good, decent, friendly, hard-working person.

    Hi Paul.
I have been through something similar. I honestly think healthcare settings are like witches covens. People who are supposed to be kind and caring team up in gangs to see someone's downfall.
I am 8 years post events and identify with nearly everything you say, particularly your friends and colleagues being told to keep away and not communicate.
I had a flawless career of 25 years, had never been in trouble or involved in substandard care yet I was treated like dirt.
Tbh, glad to be out of it all now as I have a dear friend who works in a similar situation and tells me stuff like this is STILL going on and people are taking their lives because of it.
If you ever feel like a chat, please contact me. I hope you get it all sorted out. X

Good morning those vegan guys channel, hello Paul, Now, yesterday 27th February 2022, in the evening time, I watched this video as it came up on my RUclips feed, and I was curious with the thumbnail, so I clicked on it, and it is sad to hear your story, however, I found out you seem to be a natural comedian, when you said “ this is how the lady sister ceo spoke to you, and gave a impersonation, I could not help but chuckle so hard, I thought I would split my torso yesterday but thank you for this laughter as I know laughter is a good medicine and if one cannot laugh, they will cry I guess, so thanks for giving me a good laugh, although, you may not have meant to come across in this way, I guess for me, I needed a good laugh and found that in your video, yesterday, thank you for the laughter you seem so naturally be able to give others.
Also, when you said, she was from the West Midlands, I felt a little disappointed as not everyone that lives or works in the area is bad, but mostly I feel sorry that you had to go through this, but I am sure you have learnt a lot of lessons along the way, and it has given you more resilience in some way, especially when you go back into the world of work some day.
Lastly, thank you for sharing your amazing video diaries with the world, and your video contents week by week, I feel so privileged to be a part of your clan, so to speak and many blessings go out to you and your family.

    👍👍👍 perfect.
So one thing I picked up on was them complaining to Jason's work. Did Jason or his place of work make a complaint against them for this? Unless he was speaking as a representative for his place of work (so basically if he spoke from a Facebook page of his work or if he said on behalf of the company he worked for) then they were making a personal attack on him and questioning his freedom of speech. Even if it didn't get him into trouble, they may have illegally acted by getting in touch with his employers if he was not representing them. It's definitely something that could help your case as well as holding them accountable.
I've had a lot to do with this. I was once a part of a union and worked for them. Get them for everything you can so they have little to fight back about!

    • @ThoseVeganGuys
      @ThoseVeganGuys  5 лет назад +2

That's all good to know. He was posting from his personal facebook, nothing to do with his job. Thanks for your help today. Much appreciated. 😀

    • @SuperButters90

@@ThoseVeganGuys In that case they committed a crime by contacting his employer unless they worried his comment would be a danger to anyone in his work or abused his position. This is very difficult in the UK to do to someone, he would basically have threaten violence against someone he directly works with for his work to be involved. This is very serious. Jason definitely should consider taking action against them for this as they're basically trying to silence him from free speech. A VERY serious thing they've done.
      No problem at all! Anytime!

Thank you for sharing your story Paul.
Listening to what happened did not surprise me in the slightest and you were thrown under the bus to deflect attention from the ineptitude of those running the place and that it was failing.
I’ve previously had a 15-year career in the public sector and they roll in a very similar way. They don’t like to be questioned and if you complain or stand up for yourself then you can get ready. I learned very quickly that the useless ones get promoted above their ability and to put the problem on someone else. If I was ever summoned ‘for a meeting’ I never went alone and asked for stuff in writing - which, not surprisingly, never appeared! I think the phrase ‘go along to get along’ applies in a lot of organisations but bugger that, I applaud you for speaking up.
Keep strong and your head held high. You’re a good person. And I’m a big believer in Karma. They will have their day.

19:38. When you said “Tuesday morning” how did I guess what was coming....?! Unbelievable. How these people gang up and cover up for each other when one of their employees dare speak out.
Seen it before, experienced it before, and unfortunately it seems that it happens regularly now, often to the people who care about their jobs most. The people who won’t put up and shut up, the people who won’t bite their tongue when unfairness reigns in a workplace.
I’m so sorry to hear you’ve been thru all of this, I know it was a while back now but I also know what kind of awful effect it can have on someone. Very much appreciate you sharing.

I am so sorry to hear everything that you went though during your time there. The lives of carers and support workers in the UK is already difficult enough, without all this ridiculous red tape, nepotism and childish politics going on.
It’s scenarios and systems like this that are the reason the care system fails its users and also fails to attract the best people for the job. Thank you for being such a decent, kind, caring human who, by the sounds of it, was bloody fantastic at his job. We need more people in society like you who are willing to speak up for the weak and not bow down to bullies and egotistical maniacs. Unfortunately, it’s often these types of people who sit at the top of these systems and run establishments into the ground. As well as chasing good people like yourself away.
Families in business and nepotism are, sadly, far more common than people realise. My own quick story - I once worked on the online marketing team of a small local retailer, as an SEO manager. Up until that point the business hadn’t been doing SEO so it was up to me to implement a strategy and guide them towards performing well in Google searches. The couple that owned the business seemed nice enough, but almost everyone in a position of authority at that place was in some way a relative - be it their niece, sister in law, cousin, sibling etc etc. It was honestly ridiculous.
Several months went by of me doing my job and, from what I thought, I did it rather well. The owner of the company seemed to like me and respect my input and was happy with the work I was doing. His niece though, who was the head of the online marketing team (my team), never seemed to have much time for me and tried to give me other inane tasks to do instead of letting me do my job. She was barely ever in the office, so when she wasn’t there I would get on with what I’d been hired to do and then when she was there she’d give me other things to do. As the business was having a new website built, it was part of my job as the SEO exec to give feedback on the designs to the agency and offer suggestions on how to make it more SEO-friendly. The head of the online marketing team (owner’s niece) didn’t have a clue about SEO or anything I was saying, and I can’t be too sure, but I think it used to irk her that I was able to get involved in some of the major decision making and offer knowledge and expertise that clearly outshone her own.
One random day, out of nowhere, I was called into the owner/CEO’s office where he told me he had to let me go. His niece (my team manager), was present but said absolutely nothing, which I thought was very strange. He said that their parent company had offered them an employee from their own office to cover all of the SEO responsibilities, for which they wouldn’t have to pay a salary, and that it was “purely business” why he was letting me go. Not wanting to seem immature or overly emotional I simply accepted it and left.
A week or so later, I found out he was hiring a freelancer to cover my job a few hours per week. So either his reason for sacking me had fallen through or it was complete BS. I’m still not sure to this day whether it was a way to save money or if it was something more underhanded, but the head of the online marketing team had always been highly untrustworthy in my book and it was extremely odd the way it all came about, and the suddenness of it all. I can’t be 100% sure, but the lack of real explanation has always left me thinking that she had a lot to do with it and it was purely personal on her part.
Anyway, just wanted you to know that you are not alone in being a victim of this awful nepotism we see in the world! I wish you the best of luck with all your future roles Paul, and I hope you have since gained justice for this awful, unfair experience. Anywhere will be lucky to have you so keep your chin up - there are good people and good places to work, and you will find one. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I got told it wasn't working out for me in a care position years ago. Strangely after I reported a member of staff to a manager for throwing cold water over a blind client. Week later manager called me in office and said staff were saying I wasn't pulling my weight etc (untrue) and that although he thought it unfair he had been told to give me my notice. I was young so I just handed in my notice before they could sack me and left. I think these sort of situations are rife within the care industry. This happened to me 30 years ago

I finally got the time once Ally fell asleep early hours, to watch this as I wanted to tune in at a time where I could really give it the quality time it deserved.
To begin with I'd like to take this moment to tell you that I am so sorry that you have been treat the way you have, you have been terribly wronged by your ex employers they should be ashamed and utterly disgusted with themselves.
You are a kind, funny, caring young man with a heart of gold, you didn't deserve any of this, thier behaviours shocking, and I hope they are brought down a peg or two and the scales of justice are re balanced again as that most definitely needs to proved then acted upon in October.
Paul, I hope you feel proud, of who you are, and of the kindness you share with others, because you stood up for (and still are) standing up for those you were looking out for at work, and bless you for that.
As a mum of a vulnerable adult myself I'd like to take this opportunity to say ty so much for being YOU it gives me joy and hope to know that the people who truly CARE in this world (people like you) are allowed to do just that CARE ❤️ Lors x

There's bullying of both staff & service users, some entirely unsuitable sadistic people in so called 'care' positions. Hateful. Woe betide anyone brave enough to speak out.
Care homes tend to have few visitors but many (of the bad) staff don't realise the visitors they DO have can see & hear what's going on when they think nobody is looking.

I'm so sorry that all this has happened to you and that it's still not resolved. I used to be a secretary in a hospital. When you work in a place dealing with taking care of people, they are always the priority.
Dealing with people with dementia, you have to find a way to talk with them that doesn't put them on the defensive but also gets through to them to do what they need to. I haven't heard of anything in this video that explains why they dismissed you.
It's disgusting that they aren't putting the service users first anymore.

  • @tomsoffice2011

This is the first time I’ve actually been fully aware of the whole story.
How you were treated is absolutely disgusting. I feel so angry.
As I said In a previous post, I have been subjected to victimisation and bullying in the same setting as yours, the only difference is mine wasn’t a big nationwide organisation like yours; it was a very small organisation that relied on charity with just one building that only served our local community.
Hence the reason I decided I couldn’t take them to a tribunal as they wouldn’t have financially survived, they weren’t a large nationwide organisation such as yours.
I wanted to make the bastards pay but in my situation, it would have had an impact on the service users funds whether you taking your employment to a tribunal wouldn’t have.
I’ll never work in the care sector again after what they put me through.
One day when I find the strength I shall pen you a letter telling you my story and you’ll see the similarities. Where people with no real understanding of the job getting put in positions of power where it goes to their heads; they become monsters.
I’m so sad that you never got the outcome that you deserved.
Age U.K. shouldn’t be only responsible for the well being of their service users but they have a duty of care to their employees too.
Unfortunately it’s a similar story you’ll find in every care setting up and down the country. In terms of management the ‘care’ part in the sector seems to not exist.
Hold your head up high you beautiful human being. ❤️x

Maybe things have changed since I worked in the UK, however having listened to your story I am left feeling that they seem rather unprofessional. If one disapproves of someone's conduct it is discussed privately verbal and written warnings may follow. You were dealing with people and not robots every person is different the management clearly didn't understand this, although it is confusing since you were previously praised for your proactive style of interacting with the people. I felt quite stressed listening to your account of what happened, management often fail to recognise or don't care how deeply staff care for the people they provide a service for on a daily basis. I am sure you are aware that often the pen pushers or bean counters don't like it when staff rock the boat. I wish you all the best ... Take care, sorry that this comment is a bit long ✋ x
