Trusting the process is so important and I have so much trouble. When i begin i always put pressure on myself expect amazing results. I think i have so much in my head that it stops the creative process. Anything that destresses and leads to not thinking or overthinking is good. I am realising that with the big canvasses i need to worry less about the final outcome at the start. Great video and commentary, Chris. Thank you😊😊😊
Thank you!❤️ I totally get that, Emmanuel, I'm right there with you! Trusting the process can be really challenging, especially with so many thoughts bouncing around. It's even more difficult with big canvases-more surface to potentially make a bigger muddy mess on. Painting on larger canvases is a bit like public speaking for me-intimidating and nerve racking at first, but once I get going and loosen up and I have a blast. I always remind myself before any painting whether its a warm-up or large canvas, "I can always paint over it." You go this!😊
Huh. That was totally unexpected! I liked it before, but it turned into flowers, too. This is why I love your art! Thanks for taking me on a romp through your process;)
You've become my fav artist to watch before I sleep. Your videos inspire and I drift off to sleep thinking about how I will incorporate your tips in my art the next day. 😊
Thanks so much, Morgan! It’s amazing what can happen when you let go of your worries for a little bit and just create. I’m glad you liked the final piece!
I am an overthinker! I am working on letting go. Watching your demos is very helpful. Use of color is also a stumbling block for me. I am learning from you to trust the process. I love chaotic messes, however, my brain struggles to work that way. I have been binge watching your videos - keep 'em coming!
I’m really glad you’re enjoying the videos, Shari! Letting go of overthinking is such a common struggle, but it’s great that you’re taking steps to work through it. Trusting the process will come with time-chaotic messes can lead to the most fun discoveries and can be a the perfect playground for creativity!
Terrific way to involve negative painting, Chris. So much fun to create a fanciful background without ideating a final image - just go find it. Thank you for this technique, so well explained.
Thanks for your kind words!, Ann! I’m happy you found the technique helpful! It’s always exciting to see where the process takes you without overthinking the outcome.
Fun to watch! Ive been working on my own negative space artwork the past week. Thanks for the inspiration! I have an idea of where to take current painting.
I really liked the texture the color shaper made ~ even tho you said you should have used a brush with more water! Then you did come back in with a brush and I loved what you did then too!! Very cool creation!! Very unique and a fun way to play and relax and practice techniques!! Thanks so much!! ~❤~ 😊
Wow, I did not see the final product coming!
A little bit of twist ending! 😃
Did not see that coming! Great ending results! Ty for such an inspiring video of letting go and beautiful things come ❤
Thank you, Kelly! I like to give a bit of a twist ending now and then😂
