Same here!! My brother lives in North Carolina and made me a tomato sandwich with Dukes mayonnaise and I was like what is this?? Oh, those tomatoes love Dukes mayonnaise and that's why it tastes so good! I got back home to Wisconsin and ditched the Hellmans and found some Dukes and that's all you'll ever find in my fridge now.
I love Dukes mayo. I even like Dukes light mayo. I’m from California, but a southerner for almost 30 years now, and Dukes is the best mayo I never had til I moved to Nashville and fell in mayo love. My favorite things to eat made with Dukes are Sean Brock’s pimiento cheese and homegrown tomato sandwiches on toasted sourdough. What a wonderful story, and a beautiful family telling it.
Every thanksgiving we used to make turkey sandwiches with dukes Mayo, a little hot sauce and Hawaiian rolls. The BEST sandwich you’ll ever eat. Absolutely love dukes. Screw miracle whip.
This Christmas tried with honey glazed ham, Great slider sandwiches. Hellmans is a good second place to dukes, but it beats it by a mile with the extra vinegar kick.
My dad loved Duke's! It was ALWAYS a part of his meal. He would put a big dollop on his plate for each meal. Before every bite, he would dip into the Duke's. My grandmother told me he had even once eaten it with apple pie! YUCK! But, knowing him, I believe it!
Yum! I just found a small jar at a specialty food store in southern NH. It’s rare to see it anywhere except as part of menu items at independent restaurants every so often. I first enjoyed Duke’s in Waterbury, VT at Prohibition Pig, a BBQ joint. They sell duck fat fries with Duke’s mayo as dipping sauce…it is farking amazeballs
i am a northerner. i had never even heard of Duke's, until i arrived in Florida, almost 30 years ago. someone suggested i try Duke's. I did. Never looked back. I just found out Duke's has an olive oil mayo. i would love to purchase that. what chain stores carry it? It was interesting listening to Duke's history. Thanx for the info.

I'm sorry you're mom/grandmother did not invent mayonnaise it was invited by the Spanish/French in the 1700s both claim to have invented it but that being said to some dukes is good/great to others it's horrible/will never touch it to me I wouldn't feed it to my worst enemy I tried it once worst 2 seconds of my life if you want some real mayonnaise eat Blue Plate it's actually made in the South
I was a lifelong Hellmans UNTIL I tried Dukes! Now Dukes is hands down the best and my favorite.

Dukes all the time for me. There was one time I tried JFG & hellman's, just to try it. Never again. Dukes hands down the BEST!!!
