      If I end up with another model of them (very likely), I will send one down to you, brother. My original is still going after many years, and the charge still lasts for weeks. Have a great day, brother Josh!

    Awesome! I've been considering one of these for a while. Im going to look around and probably add one to the Christmas list. Great video brother 👍

    It is good to have a flashlight that doesn't have to be beat to work! Hey thanks for the good review!

      For $20-35, depending on the model, mine have served me well for years. They are small enough to keep handy without being in the way. Thanks for coming by! Stay well.

    Hi thanks for the information provided. Please suggest which is better in between CREE XP-G3 and Nichia 219C

    • @GrumpyGrunt
      @GrumpyGrunt  2 года назад +1

      Hello and thank you for watching! In my very limited opinion, it isn't a matter of "better" between the two bulb sets, necessarily. It is a matter of preference between a cooler light that feels brighter in most situations versus a warmer light that feels more natural and lends itself to recording or taking pictures with it.
      The Cree options I have experienced typically provide a cooler wavelength bulb set and the Nichia provides a warmer, neutral light. I tend to prefer the Nichia since I record with it sometimes. I hope that helps. Stay well.

    nice mini gadget...bu what happens when the internal battery went dead soon,,,can it be replaced?

    • @GrumpyGrunt
      @GrumpyGrunt  2 года назад +1

      My older model, the A5, is still running strong after several years. But, yes, when the internal Lithium battery eventually dies, the whole unit will be useless. I think you can send it back and have it replaced for a price, but it isn't really cost-effective on a device this inexpensive. Their larger models (Aurora 20-series) have replaceable batteries of standard size.
      Thanks for the question. If that didn't answer, please let me know. Stay well.

    but, what's the difference between a5 and a7??

    • @GrumpyGrunt
      @GrumpyGrunt  2 года назад +2

      There is no difference I can find besides the color of the glow in the outer shell. It is the same chipset, reflector and battery options. The a7x is just blue where the a5x comes in either a green or purple GITD casing. They are the same light, just glow different colors. I don't know why they made it a different model number, to be honest.

    I just got the new dual fuel one. It takes a aaa battery also for backup. I think I will enjoy it. I like nice lights. Most of mine are steam light.

    Nice review, GG. I use rechargeable bike lights but they have nowhere near 40h power reserve. Will look into those, thanks!

      I have sworn by my older model since shortly after I got it and it took a spill down a rock face of an outcropping. It was only a 30' drop, but it bounced of several rocks on the way down. Not a sign of trauma on it. Still works like new to this day and it's inexpensive.
      I just saw Paul at Cedrick and Ada's rescind his endorsement of a knock off, by a larger company at that. It stopped working after a few months. Mine has been in mud and water many times and dropped more than I can count. Still works like a dream.
      Take care, Dave!

    Well you didn't try to put a car in reverse to turn back mileage, so you're safe on that. Thank you for the enlightenment Grumpy.

    j think I am or was an olight snob. after buying so many lights to find "the one."
    I've stuck with them since. anyway, I never had interest in anything smaller than the oligh s1 baton. the rovyvon a1x came up in Amazon recommendations. I dont know exactly what it was, but I just wanted it. apart from the pocket clip being completely useless this is one amazing little light. now I think I want the A7X now. that's why I came here. to get info and opinions. thank you.

    • @GrumpyGrunt
      @GrumpyGrunt  2 года назад +1

      The A7x and A5x are the same light, with the only difference being the color of glow on the case. The A1x, at $20, is one of my favorite things to give away to friends. I have several Olights too. My original A5 is still going strong and is my daily EDC and go-to light. Others get carried, but rarely actually used other than to test.
      For the price and features, RovyVon is still my first choice in EDC lights. Olight, Fenix, Thrunite and others make a fine light, but this A5 has been bombproof since day 1 for me and it can go anywhere I go. I don't have to worry about replacing batteries or about the magnets, which I like at times but not in my pockets. I recharge it once a month or so, unless I use it a lot more than typical. The A5 is not my only light I carry regularly, but it is still my main one.
      Thanks for watching and the input. I appreciate you taking the time.
