It is being built actually. Although anyone who knows anything can say so little due to NDA that it's not worth saying anything in the first place. Nothing unusual there. Let's just say If you are 'rich', good. You'll need to be to afford it. In the current world climate expect it to be more expensive than Genos and then some. I was told to set aside upwards of 5 grand (By the UK Korg rep at the time).

I got a Yamaha MoDX+ because it's the same functionally as the Montage with the same sounds, just no aftertouch, less physical controls, and a plastic enclosure, etc. Although I did watch a lot of videos comparing it to a Roland FA-0. The ModDX+ edged above with sound. Plus two synth engines in one keyboard.
you can't beat the assertiveness of a Montage - great video. And this video doesn't even show all the features of a Montage and what can be done with it. The Fantom is not bad at all, but Yamaha surpassed themself.
They incorporated a lot of stuff in their Fantom. Not on the sound engine but more on the sound design. Montage worked more on the engines and sound gen. Fantom has plenty of options to shape the tone live!
As a Montage owner I have to say I think the Fantom is outshining it on everything but piano though I don't like the Montage piano anyway. My last Fantom was an x6 from 2004. You'll wait a whole lot more for a new kronos. LOL..
As they need a new keybed, new OS, firmware, new chipset, processor.. basically.. EVERYTHING, as all of it was waay outdated long time ago..
I like pa4x, however, that keybed is also VERY bad.. even for synth action.
Please can i exchange my casio with any of your keyboard I'm tire of it and i need to improve badly
It's like two different view of the truth, two witness of the same event;both give one vision of what ever you want.
Both are great boards it just depends on what you are willing to spend
Ok for synths both are equally good, but real hero is YOU, great selection and playing, would like to watch you play for hours, great.
Both sound fantastic. I would have to flip a coin to pick one or the other. Really great.
Montage seems to have more attack ..... but they sounds nice !
Both sound good, so I suppose it would come down to which has the most features and then compare price to performance.
Siempre me ha gustado la Yamaha Montage...
Pero aquí viendo la comparación la fantom también está bueno...
Buenas máquinas.... 😉👍🏻
Actually comparing sample libraries 😏...well done to the sound designers 👏
Yamaha definitely beats Roland with FM, that's kinda their thing
What is FM please?
@@HammyGirl999 frequency modulation synthesis. Aka the glassy dx7 electric piano sound you heard on dozens of 80’s records
The MOntage sounds warm and more realistic with strings...all in all i would choose the Yamaha Montage...busty budgeting for a dope workstation
What it sounds like... if you want real instruments: Roland fantom... if you want synthy instruments: Yamaha... I would find a place for both... this comaprison leads me to think the fantom is a wiser purchase... then also I feel like the contrast would sit well together
really also one does some things better than the other and the other does some things better than the other... they should make love
Montage great sounds 👌👍
Roland Has poliphonic samples and you can edit all of them, it also has aditional tools, I miss my Fantom-S Workstation, It was the second generation. And was absolutely Awesome. ✌😎
Yes..i will take one of each.
I like the sound of montage.. its equal and loud in exact volume
I don’t really think one is better than the other I think they both have different characteristics and personalities that make them both sound nice.
Absolutely yes! ;) but probably some people prefer one instead of the other
Montage is deep..win win
Sampling, Yamaha.
Analog modeling, Roland.
Love Roland, but Yamaha sounds wider here
The pads were like night and day.
korg god
Fantom allday everyday
I got a Yamaha MoDX+ because it's the same functionally as the Montage with the same sounds, just no aftertouch, less physical controls, and a plastic enclosure, etc. Although I did watch a lot of videos comparing it to a Roland FA-0. The ModDX+ edged above with sound. Plus two synth engines in one keyboard.
The Yam for me! Trem cleaner,
Deeper overall tones, Roland had some great effects but if I was a Hammond..,
you can't beat the assertiveness of a Montage - great video.
Yeah okay that's like comparing modx same as Montage to a Roland Fantom not possible
As a Montage owner I have to say I think the Fantom is outshining it on everything but piano though I don't like the Montage piano anyway. My last Fantom was an x6 from 2004. I didn't like it but I'm glad to hear a major improvement (as one would expect after so many years) in the newest fantom. Now I may finally have a viable unit to replace my xp-30 after owning one for 20 years.
Take back what I said. Listening with fresh ears I prefer Yamaha Montage on everything.
I like both.
Both have definitely different sounds and who knows about sounds and music in a performance, will notice the quality of sounds.
But I would go for the Yamaha.
I second the camp that looks forward to this video!
Yamaha wins in that comparison, in my opinion.
Thanks for sharing that work.
This is a hard Choice because both sound great
