I was so lucky to be at the green barns when you were there in August, and enjoyed a pork roast with my friends. It was absolutely delicious! We were fighting over the scraps. Can't wait to get more!
Just happened to stumble across your video through the algorithm of RUclips, clicked it and happened to see you’re in goldvein! We’re located between Gainesville and Manassas, not far from Fauquier. Pretty cool to see other RUclipsrs from the area! Adam’s Slaughter does a good job. Finest Butcher in Bealton does a good job too if you can’t get a future date at Adam’s. Love the rotation with the premier 1 fence!
@@BluestoneFarmsva awesome! It’s hard to get a date for Finest. I finally got one for January. Looking forward to see how it turns out. I’ll follow you guys!
I just met Mark and his family today at their farmers market stand. I have to say, Mark was very nice and easy to talk to. He had a lot of information and he also seems very passionate about what he is doing. Do yourself a favor and visit him if you are in the area. It is worth the trip. Thanks, Mark, for spending time talking to me. From New York. I will see you again.
@@ripman3616 howdy brother! I really enjoyed you stopping by and talking. Good luck up there in NY. I know that homestead of yours is right around the corner
We go to the farmers markets up here on Cape Breton island alot best meat and other products you can get a little more pricey than a grocery chain but alot tastier and healthier .Its hard to get beef products cause of the good wholesale price they get from brokers.I find the pork is alot tastier off the farm as long as the butcher makes good cuts if that makes sense .Good luck with what your doin its a good life imo good luck deer huntin this yr also.
Worked as a cook to pay my way through college in Oklahoma. My Muslim family didn’t eat pork as I grew up but I found the aroma of our barbecued pork roast ribs at work irresistible. Unfortunately for me, I discovered that I was allergic to pork as within 10-15 mins of chomping down some juicy ribs (you have to taste what you cook) I get this queasy feeling and I retch and empty the entire contents of my stomach until I can literally taste green bile from my guts. I learned to drink plenty of water to stop myself from choking to death or have plenty of water nearby to ease the experience. Try as I might, it proved not to be a one off. My body just couldn’t handle any pork product. I guess when you wait till you are 21 yrs old to eat pork, sometimes it is too late to adapt. I am over 60 now.
The truth of it is porcupine from the store has preservatives in it to make it last longer on the shelf fresh meat is always better no matter what you feed it what you feed it
Pigs are not dumb they will test that electric fence every chance they get I know it for a fact I have one that are tested every day until she can get out

Salam! That’s a crazy story. I wonder if that’s a common trend for those that have never eaten pork.
Thanks for the comment! Be safe
I’m also not a huge pork fan other than bacon and sausage. I’ll have to try some raised right pork.
We had some chops last night. It was amazing. Seasoned with “cajun two step”, Seared in butter/garlic. Daggggum
But are you getting your pig back

Can't you call him a piggy instead of a hog?
You shouldn't name your pigs
What you’ve never named an animal meant for slaughter?
