- In this video, we are going over 3 ways in which you can transfer your photos and videos from your DJI Mini 3 Pro over to your smartphone, tablet, or computer. There are a few different methods and they all have their uses. We also explain the differences between the low-resolution cached video stored on the controller in the DJI Fly App and the high-quality version that gets saved on the drone's memory card. The techniques explained in this video are the same for other DJI Drones such as the Mini 3, Air 2S, and DJI Mini 2.

I rest my Mini 3 pro on a laptop cooler when I transfer my longer vids...It was $5 at a discount place...WORTH it!
When I connect the drone via USB-C directly to my iPad, nothing comes up under my files
Excellent instructional video. Step by step-clearly done. Cheers from Wisconsin.
I'm watching this video from London UK. Another absolutely fantastic video. More of these videos PLEASE.
Great vid covering all the transfer options!
Most helpful. Thank you Sean.
Thanks, great and clear explanation!
Thank you for this video you rock. Keep it up
Great video! Thank you for all the examples.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for all of your helpful videos!
Thank you
Good stuff. Didn’t know!
Thank you for this info! I used to struggle to download it onto my icloud drive and then download it onto my phone via the icloud site, this took ages and it was a hit or miss with the large files if they even wanted to get saved to my gallery
very helpful channel. subbed right away!!
Thanks for the sub!
Great info. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Killer video!
Thank you very much
Your methods work ! ! Contrary to the misinformation I found in some other videos. ThanKs 😃👍📸
Glad to hear that!
Thank you.
You always give us such valuable information Shawn. Thank you.
Curious if you can share info on how to transfer videos through a card reader?
With a card reader I can see the pic but it wont decode mp4 or other vids taken from the Drone. I use quick transfer but it heats up my drone. So a card reader did seem practical if we can transfer straight to lap top
Hey There! does the method of using smart card reader on the ipad pro work for videos off of a Mini 4 Pro? it is not working for me, but it works with videos recorded from a Mavic Air 2. i think DJI may have changed the compatibility from Mini 4 Pros. if it works, can you make a video show it?
Great video. I am trying to figure out how to transfer video with Audio from DJI mini pro 3 to IPhone.
Works fine on Android. I use a USB-c to USB-c cable. Power on my mini 3pro and connect it to my Android. The micro SD card shows up as a USB storage device and I go into DCIM and copy over what I want into my phone.
Thanks for all the options. However as much as I like the drone through Fly app to tablet method, the drone may get hot as it did when I update the latest firmware and such. I ended up turning a small fan facing my drone. It's a great work around. Just saying.
Morning Sean, I’ve recorded some 5.1k footage, problem I’m having is putting on my iPad/iPhone. It recorded to drone, I’ve since installed SD card to drone. If i get a data transferring usb-c cable will it transfer from drone to iPad Pro?
When you copy the files using the files app, should we select all the files or just the MP4?
I don't know what to do with the .lrv and the .insv files and some other file formats :|
Which is the fastest way? Directly from the Drone with a cord? Or taking the SD card out and putting the reader in the computer? or wirelessly? Thanks!
Is there no way to connect iPhone directly to mini 3 pro like you can with iPad? I’m going to buy an iPad for this but is there not a way to connect iPhone with cable to mini 3 pro? Instant share or whatever it is in the DJI app is too slow for sending videos over wireless.
Great information Shawn, and thanks for sharing. I still find using the memory card is best way to transfer files for me, but I'm glad to have options if i'm away from home, and I forgot my memory card reader. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for explaining all of this Sean! I had a problem with my Mini 2 overheating when transferring via quick transfer or cable. I have just ordered the Mini 3 Pro and wanted to know if you’ve had any problems with it overheating when it’s on and not flying. I sat my Mini 2 in front of a small desk fan and eliminated the problem but I’m not always where I can do that. Thanks! Love and appreciate all of the videos you do! They have been very helpful and informative for me!😁
I have never experienced overheating on my Mini 3 Pro when using quick transfer, because I believe the drone switches out of fly mode and is unlikely to overheat.
@@supergeodotca thank you! The Mini 2 gave a camera circuit overheating error so I guess the Mini 3 Pro turns the camera circuitry off. That’s great to know, thanks! 😁👍🏻
I myself have not had it over heat when using quick transfer or updating firmware. However, I have had it overheat when filming tutorials because the drone was powered on for so long. But that was an extreme case most will not keep their drone powered on a desk for an hour at a time.
I had one time the overheating problem with my mini 3 pro. It was the first power up. The drone stayed on during a lot of upgrades (Control then drone upgrade). But never with quick transfer.
But, now I transfer with a memory card adapter. For me it's also the best way. :-)
I apologize if I wasn’t supposed to put a link to the fan. Wasn’t trying to sell them for anyone it was just what I found. 🤦🏻♂️
Thanks Sean. Love to know if it also works for the Avata, which is a pain to access with big hands like mine.
unfortunately no it does not. I wish there was an easier way
If you’re connecting Photos Album to the Cloud then you’re sure going to need a lot of spare capacity. I prefer the Files method getting the videos onto an SSD from where it is also possible to edit in Apps such as DaVinci Resolve to name but one.
Same here! Cloud storage is a scam in my opinion.
Just to update: With new iPhone 13 with USB-C, it actually works when connected with the USB of the drone, just make sure to open “Files App” first, then plug the USB-C to the iphone and the drive will come up as “Untitled” (unless you had previously named it)
Have you used airdrop ??
Just a quick question well it might not be all that quick, when you have more than one Drone each drone numbers its files sequentially you can still have a DJI001 file on each of them so when you download the files off the next drone, does it overwrite the DJI 001 file that you’ve downloaded from the first drone as it will have the same name, or is it clever enough to realise that and save a second copy
When importing to iOS in both the photos or files app it will automatically rename the files so nothing will be overwritten. I assume it is the same with Anadroid
Hi Sean, I know it sounds stupid, could you possibly check one thing? Does the Avata propellers can be fitted on the mini 3 pro? Or maybe the Air 2S? Not sure if they have similar sizes to the Mini 3 Pro propellers. I ask because I saw a video where the person tested different propellers in an FPV drone, and the multibladed propeller was the most silent of them all. I was shocked with the difference.
These particular propellers will not fit. There are third-party manufactures that to make different props for the mini 3. But I have not tried any of them.
@@AirPhotography haven’t found any solution with more than 2 blades. The Mini 2 had a 3 blade propeller solution, but can’t find nothing like it for the mini 3
The problem with Bluetooth over from the mini 3 pro to fly app is the heat builds up if they are big files
I’m unable to connect the drone to my phone, the quick transfer thing doesn’t pop out on my app at all, how do I fix that?
Great video - but did you find any solution to import videos from the sd card into the dji fly app without quicktransfer so that you can use the dji fly app as an editing software? Best regards and keep on creating such a great content.
How do you choose where on phone to save the videos? I'd like to transfer to the SD card on my phone.
I'm watching this video from pakistan.this drone price
when you do file transfers other than quick transfer you cant view sphere shots or asteriod quick shot
How did you succeed to connect using Quick transfer? I have a problem connecting, it says "Aircraft already connected to another mobile device" and fails to connect.
I’m not sure about that. Sometimes I have to disable my cellular service on my phone in order for it to connect properly. Maybe give that a try
So we cant get the original resolution on quick mode?cause when open the album in quick mode its said low resolution
Download
Help!! The quick transfer notification is not showing in my app🤯
I used c type to c type
I tried
Usb standard, 2.0 , 3.0 and 3.2
I can't get the drone to connect to my iPad using USB-C, what am I doing wrong?
I can’t you tell me how to change my language on my Mini 3 Pro Thanks
👍
Yah, I'm new and having issues going to Android via the C to C provided cord. (From drone to Chromebook for example) Anyone else having this issue?
Can’t get the quick transfer to work on the iPhone it doesn’t show that message for quick transfer and it won’t find the drone while flashing yellow. My RC is off. I don’t get what’s going on. I’m logged in in the DJI fly but nothing. Anyone know what’s the problem?? I have the mini 3 not the pro.
Make sure the Drone is on my friend and the gimbal cover is off.
So you cannot transfer from drone to iPhone XR but you can transfer from drone to iPad?
I’ve never tested on the XR
My pictures only show a thumbnail
Explanation doesn't work coz too hard to figure having DJI FLY app available as an app on my Z fold 4.
I wrote dji my dismay as my long ago Mini was simple but now seems too complicated.
Don't know how you can call this simple & fast when it's complicated & slow to eventually upload to phone.
Hope you or dji can fix the situation.
I tried using quick transfer mode to transfer videos to my iPhone from mini 3 pro and I literally do every single step like in the video but once I click download after selection the videos, they just won’t download. Any one else has had this problem? Like the % number just stays in 0 and videos won’t download.
I just figured it out. You need to download the video from your drone onto the remote. Then once it’s downloaded on the remote you gotta go on your Dji app on the phone and with the drone on, press the album button on the phone. Before you do anything else, you gotta go on your remote and press that share button on the top where the quick link button would be. Then when you get that up you gotta press that and there should be a QR code and instructions. Go back on your phone and you should be in the album section. Press the quick link button top right and you will see the option to connect to the drone’s Wi-Fi. You want to press that little “-“ on the bottom right. The camera will pop up and you gotta scan the QR code on the remote. You will then be able to download any video you have saved on the remote.
How come when I download my videos it doesn’t work
Sometimes on iPhone you have to disable the cellular service otherwise it won’t connect
Can i fly with my Phone
Not with the phone only,
@@AirPhotography have you tried
Quick Transfer works great but if you leave the drone on for very long it heats up fast due to lack of air flow. Power off the drone asap to avoid this
Is this also a problem if you use a USB-C to USB-A cable directly into the PC ?
The DJI RC is an Android device 🙃
Bullshit. Got windows 11. It has the sd card reader. I downloaded all my content from the drone card. Its all on my laptop. It all has a Red "x" next to it. Help!!!! What does the Red "X" icon mean and why is this happening
I cant stand taking out the mini card from the drone I would rather connect the drone to my computer to get the files
What about the vast majority of us that have no use for transferring files from a drone to a phone but instead have a logically strong interest in transferring photo and video files onto a computer in a useful manner for post processing and video editing?
Did you need somehow pair your drone with your tablet? My app do not show up that transfer switch and If I try to connect that, it want from mi plug USB to RC controller.
You've really made an 8 minute video on how to use a memory card? I thought there might some nice wifi direct trick or something reading this title what kind of a child needed this video
That’s a pretty close minded statement. Some people are brand new to drones and content management. Why is the need to post a comment like that? If it’s not a video for you move along.
@@AirPhotographythank you for uploading this video! Some people really need to know just the basics, and make sure they are doing the basics correctly… appreciate you man.
I put my drone card into the adapter. Put that into my win 11 laptop. It ALL logged under ONE DRIVE
. Then those files were marked X and or unmarked files. Im sick of these bait videos about something that should be straightforward
