Jake said it best he just refuse to be hurt! This aura of stubbornness was seen in his ability to box as well in his dealings with relationships! What a character and personality! Long live in our hearts these two warriors!
You can see it in the face of LaMotta. He wanted to destroy SRR in the later rounds, but paid for it w/ the stoppage. LaMotta had the stamina, but it setup too many counters for Robinson. I think they're in the top 5 p4p all time. But it's really amazing to see how much heart LaMotta had. Even next to SRR who had an equally hard chin & determination, but certainly had the edge in skill & speed. All 6 fights were very close.
Robinson was a wife beater, even arrested for beating his wife. He was not a normal nice man. He was an abuser, & a terrible boxing coach when he worked at the Olympic Auditorium downtown Los Angeles. 🙋
Ray was just a very classy guy and a gentleman. Good person too. A real Champ and P4P GOAT. Jake was just such a hard worker, such conditioning and toughness. What fights!
You know these commentators are actually way better back then. Just just call the fight. They don't tell a bunch of fuckin' stories in between their commentary. They just call the punches. Fucking Joe Rogan goes off on these ridiculous tangents all the time.
@tftmc this 6th fight wasn't too close. Robinson pulled away in those later rounds and Jake took murderous shots without going down. Keep in mind NOBODY takes clean punches like Jake, he was a specimen.
no doubt Sugar Ray was the better boxer but I've always liked Jake better, I like that style better, it's more of a tough, warrior style, and I think Jake would have kicked the shit out of Ray in a down and dirty street fight.
Why the hell does this end at 4.28 and not go all the way to the end? Fuxake why can't you do a simple thing like this? This really pisses me off, can't find the end to this, even the other youtube clip, 'Ray Robinson Jake LaMotta The Way It Was Part 1' don't go to a part 2 or 3 and you can't finish you clip off too. Typical youtube uselesness.
What a Legendary Rivalry Between These 2 Great champions

shows you how hard Robinson hit that Jake went to Bob 'Bombadier' Satterfield, a light heavy and heavyweight, when asked who hit harder than Ray

Looks like you're missing the last few minutes. Another commenter said this was the last episode of this show, so it must of been in 78.

What year was this? It was definitely before raging bull. Im guessing 1972?
Pretty sure this is 40's or 50's? Lol raging bull was made in the 80's but filmed in black and white i presume because the era it was set
