This is NOT GPS tracker, but GPRS tracker. Tracking performed using cell phone stations. Accuracy is low ~1km, but still shows location. So, depends what you need.
I want to add it to my cat's collar so I can find him on my farm during the day. I bought a Tile locator but it doesn't work in he's not within my Bluetooth range. I want an app that I can open and find him. Our tower is kms away so I'm thinking this won't work. Do you have any recommendations?

Something that may be of interest... We purchased the TKStar TK905 and it works really well. So well that it was bloody stolen and we even knew where the thieves were. We've since purchased a new one and it will be connected directly to the car battery and not thrown in the glove box.

I bought a magnetic car phone mount from eBay with a much stronger magnet & a sticky pad (for attaching to car dashboard) so I stuck it to the gps gf07 & it’s a much stronger magnet than the one already fitted inside but I’m waiting for a 2G sim to arrive off eBay so let me know how u get in with yours

True. Good. But these days GSM towers are pretty precise. At least you get an idea of general location within an area. You can get the same things from a smartphone with GPS location turned off.
Sonny, a half km range is more ideal. A person may want to attach it to their own bike when going into a café shop or mall and chain the bike outside for that short time absence.

@@kurtmagnus5243 - For what it's worth, charging and SIM card presence are totally independent. On a normally functioning device it would charge without further issues. ;-)
It is not a true GPS tracker, but for it's price it is a very nifty spy device. Even though location data may not be accurate, it can be accurate enough in certain use cases. And it comes with a microphone with record and live call ability.
I have one and I've been using it for a long time, it's bad for location, it's not precise, but that's why it's very good for spying on sound and conversations, that's why I use it, the sound is very clean and clear, just insert the sim card and call the number and listen to conversations in environment clearly
You have to use a 5 Gigabyte sim card with an active plan. I'd recommend at min 20 gigs (data), but favorably unlimited. $65 a month on average for that. Also a 32 Gigabyte SD card for storing the data it collects.
I can recommend gps-server.net this service allows you to use any old android or iOS smartphone that is just collecting dust. I’ve just set my phone up to use it and it’s really easy to setup. Just have a look. You get a free trial but then you can opt in for the 1 device at 15eruo for 1 year or choose a better, more suitable plan for your needs.

If you have such a fake, find out that it responds to other commands. The APN setting is done with the Apn # net # command, where "net" is the apn of your network. The imei # command will return the imei code but will not go to any site. After setting the APN, command 777 will respond with a Chinese link

You could of put taken a good one apart, and shown what it's supposed to look like, compared to the "fake" one. And am I supposed to take one that I "supposedly" buy, apart, to see if it's "fake" or not?
I live in australia and the 2G network has been switched off so these do not work at all.There are a lot of companies selling on ebay and they are selling them with falsè advertising saying they are a GPS and one advert also claims they work with 4G sims not true, they do not work at all in australia.
Explains why they can be so cheap, bought mine on Aliexpress for less than 4€ just to mess around with perhaps. But it does make sense there not being a GPS as the device is bough way too cheap and the fact that using GPS is REALLY power hungry and 400mAh wouldn't last long enough lol.
Returning mine today, its a bummer to go through all the hassle and find out the location it reports is 10 minutes away from the actual location and to top that its not runtime, so by the time you figure out the precise location the car had already moved on....
I have one, I put in my SIM card, and I can see exactly where my motorcycle is.. I actually had a friend take my bike and hide it.. guess what. I found it.. you should try to go through the setup before you label something as fake.. for me you get a thumbs down!

100% agree. Do not buy these as they are very misleading. People are still selling them today. They are as useful as a chocolate fireguard. Throw in the bin. I did challenge the seller and they said it was good. I pointed out they were not for a number of reasons one of which is explained in this video. The 777 gave us back the location in Chinese. This was of no value to us. The instruction as do not agree with what they did.

I don't know the technicality as explained by this guy, but he's right.... This thing is rubbish I bought one of these, setting it up wasn't a problem HOWEVER, I have 2 issues with it 1) The location is NOT accurate.... Had my car parked outside my house with the tracker in it, got the location and it showed my car was on a different street in my local hospital grounds..... I went to pickup some car parts the following day and while inside the store I got my location once again, it showed my location on the opposite side of the dual carriageway in a totally different industrial estate 2) I've tried to download the app for three days in the hope that it would make a difference in regards to getting a more accurate location, and everyday it keeps telling me registering device please try later From my experience I'd say this is absolutely rubbish. What good is it if you'd stole my car, parked it on your drive but this thing is telling me it's somewhere else

I tried texting numbers to the sim yesterday, 000, 666 and 102. With 102 the message pairing the phone came back -- 10 hours later. Now paired, just need to find a map to connect to.

To activate it, put in on a cellphone and follow the instructions from the company (e.g. call to 103), once you active your sim cand you should get your number (again, check the instructions from the simcard). Once you are ok (sim card activated and you know the number) switch the card to the gps, wait til the red lighs get on and you are done. Now use your cellphone to SMS text the number you got from your pre-paid simcard (wich is inside the gps). First 000, then 555 or 777.
@@PaulRezaei When you buy a phone card / number / SIM you get a bit of plastic with a metal chip on it, usually within a larger credit card sized bit of plastic that you break it out of. This card can be put in a phone or in this device. To send text messages you use a mobile/cell phone and the SMS/Text function on that, and send the message to the number you have bought. The number should be on the larger bit of plastic that you break the smaller one out of, and/or the envelope/paper you get the card in/on. To clarify: This is a normal phone card, with a normal phone number, that you get anywhere they sell phones. It is exactly the same thing you put in your phone, and you get to know the number the same way as you get when you want to start telling your friends you got a new number. If you just randomly found the SIM card on the street you could try calling another phone with it, to see if it has any money on it and to get the number showing up in their display. When you have put the SIM card in this device, and a microSD card on top of that and slid it in you can text to this little "GPS" box as if it was a phone - because it basically is a tiny phone that just answers text messages with coordinates in a reply text.

I ordered one for $5 to use as a FAKE gps tracker kinda like a fake security camera. I place it on the dash of my car for everyone to see. Meanwhile I have a real gps tracker (tk905) hard wired and hidden as well as an AirTag (with the speaker removed)

It's probably best used as a spying device. Got one for less than two euro's to find out it was indeed too cheap to be a real GPS.

This is not a GPS Tracker as GPS Patch antenna or module is not present in it. do not buy it.

The most important thing here is to disable SIM card PIN number in your cellphone first , than put it in so called "locator".

@@PaulRezaei When you buy a phone card / number / SIM you get a bit of plastic with a metal chip on it, usually within a larger credit card sized bit of plastic that you break it out of. This card can be put in a phone or in this device. To send text messages you use a mobile/cell phone and the SMS/Text function on that, and send the message to the number you have bought. The number should be on the larger bit of plastic that you break the smaller one out of, and/or the envelope/paper you get the card in/on. To clarify: This is a normal phone card, with a normal phone number, that you get anywhere they sell phones. It is exactly the same thing you put in your phone, and you get to know the number the same way as you get when you want to start telling your friends you got a new number. If you just randomly found the SIM card on the street you could try calling another phone with it, to see if it has any money on it and to get the number showing up in their display. When you have put the SIM card in this device, and a microSD card on top of that and slid it in you can text to this little "GPS" box as if it was a phone - because it basically is a tiny phone that just answers text messages with coordinates in a reply text.

This device Red Light is continuously turn ON and cause of that this device is not functioning.
Is there is reset button to fix the said device ?
if the red light stay on then it doesn't ste good in the slot
How did you identify by hardware that it does not contain any GPS related stuff?

I ordered one for $5 to use as a FAKE gps tracker kinda like a fake security camera.
I place it on the dash of my car for everyone to see. Meanwhile I have a real gps tracker (tk905) hard wired and hidden as well as an AirTag (with the speaker removed)
It works just fine .
