That Disco episode was the first video of yours that I ever watched! I was hooked wishing I could take my Jeep to Africa and drive those same trails and have those same adventures. Thank you for all your videos!
Hi Andrew for what its worth you can tell Land Rover that after the Lesotho trip I decided on the Discovery 4 over the Prado and Land Cruiser 200 - 20KM;s in and lots of Aussie tracks including one instance when I passed a whole lot of "hardcore" modified vehicles after just getting through a track in the NSW state forest (kirrawak) with the road goodyears - they seriously couldn't believe that I was there with the family and the the dog. I needed a 4WD that my wife would be comfortable driving during the week that could do what I wanted on the weekend and it has been amazing - thanks for your work, Cheers
Finally!! I have always wanted you to do a trip through my country and someday I hope we can work together on something to promote outdoor activities and adventures to the younger generation!
Fantastic work Andrew, I have really enjoyed watching this Part/episode as with many other of the videos on your channel. I have always had a desire and interest in over-landing watching your videos inspires me to turn my own over-landing ambitions into reality. Thank you
Just returned from a road trip through Zim's Eastern highlands. With my wife, very safe, very nice people, great scenery. Hired a Nisan X-trail, not really a 4X4 so the wet dirt roads in Chimamimani posed some distraction.
Hello there Mr. Andrew... I am from Croatia and preparing video recording regard my country, mountains and the coast. Your work is so inspiring to me... Maybe you should consider visit Croatia...
Thank you for the video. I hope you make a video about the frequently failed parts in the car during over landing and off roading. Also what are the must have spare parts and tools for every trip.
You see a few Land Rovers in USA. I've always liked the way they look. Some good stone work there. I love that wall hanger you got! Good old USA greenbacks, eh?
I dont always agree with what you say in your videos but your videos are excellent and may or may not be 100% factually correct but they always give a good, honest, realistic impression of the areas you travel to, unlike the other SA made 4x4 programs. Really enjoyed it and made me want to pack my landy and hit the road. Looking forward to Part 2. Thank you. PS. There is also an interesting theory by the Swiss who did a dig just outside Vilanculos, after a local found what was thought to be Roman jewelry and a Roman sword. The theory is that the Romans could possibly have built Great Zimbabwe and that the Ruins near Maziane, the Anchorage on the Save on the border of Zimbabwe, the Ruins at Mapangubwe, and even the ruins on Kubu island form part of a type of Roman "trade route". The excavation in Vilanculos has since been sealed up with concrete and rumour is that what they discovered will change History, hense it being sealed. The Baobabs in Vilanculos, which are apparently unusual for the area, are said to have been planted there to form a beacon for passing ships....i think its a rather slow way of growing a beacon though! :) )
Ian, that's the thing. To even have to say that let's one know how dangerous African countries are. I'd love it if the human population were as safe as the animals.
Interesting set of videos. We will be there in April 17. I just hope with the new bond notes it won't be a case of hyper inflation by the time we get there. Do you have any contacts in the 4x4 world that know what condition the Lupane to Kwekwe road is in? I'll be in a hired Ford Ranger and want to bypass Byo on my trip from Vic Falls to Harare
I don't know if it's because I'm an American, or because I'm an American Marine; but I would have called out them guys as soon as I sensed it. Oh, my how I would have enjoyed that.
I was in Zimbabwe for 4 months just after the troubles throwing the whites off the land. No problems at all and a fantastic country. The safari camps were all empty so the world was your oyster if you were there for wildlife filming as I was!
As always nice work !!! I'm a fanatic follower of your channel. And yes the Discovery4 is a good and capable car. I've done West-Africa with it and in last june I've driven it from Belgium to Beijing, through Iran, several deserts, over 4200m heights, through Mongolia and the Goby, see: ruclips.net/video/gwGzq3ayg9g/видео.html . But unfortunatly it was total loss last month. Now I'm thinking in the direction of a short Mercedes Sprinter with permanent 4x4 and 3 diff locks from Oberaigner. Enjoy you next explorations !
I don't mean to be rude but for a guy that's been all over Africa, you seem awfully.. creeped out by crappy banknotes, haha. On the other hand, keep up the fantastic work on your videos :)
Exactly who told you the Rhodesian government said the Zimbabwe Ruins was not build by black people? Utter nonsense. I am a Rhodesian, born & bred & have never heard such utter crap.
Historians. Not politicians. I do not care who built it. But it is still unclear who built it. No definite proof has been revealed, only theories. Some theories are favoured by some politicians, for obvious reasons.
4xOverland my problem is you state that "the previous government " didn't believe black people built it. That is totally incorrect & needs to be noted as such. If you like I will direct you to Rhodesia historians who never concluded there was non- black people who built Great Zimbabwe. As you note, there is still discussion on who built & lived there. But to put on video we were stupid enough to believe non-whites built Great Zimbabwe is an insult.
I DID NOT say that non whites built it. Listen carefully! I suggested that some believe that non whites may have built it. That is what I said. Its a fact. Some believe right or wrong, that non whites built it. And if you decide to be offended by this, then this is entirely your problem. Personally, I have no hardened belief because I not know, because I am not an historian,. Anyway. Who cares really? They are magnificent. Human beings built it!!!!! And who gives a shit what colour their skins were!
4xOverland Your words "when the country was Rhodesia, archeologists were told to show the ruins were built by non-whites. When the country became Zimbabwe they declared it had been built by blacks. So much for truth.." So firstly, let's talk about truth..you are lying about Rhodesians wanting to declare the Ruins built by non-whites. This sounds like some broederbond bullshit. Secondly, to your point on why bring up colour? I agree wholeheartedly. ..but you were the one who brought it up.

appreciate the honesty with the car companies when reviewing their vehicles.
wish the lr4 style body wasn't discontinued

Zim is hands down one of the safest countries in Africa. great video, how many parts will there be in this series?
Ian Munro and that's a fact compared to other places in the continent. It's s special place overall
