I've always been a bit hyper-vigilant about always locking my doors. I traveled for a bit by myself-female across the U.S. and ALWAYS locked my car doors...even when filling my gas tank. Thugs watch people. They case the situation even when high. Keep a 180 degree view of surroundings and maintaining a "don't mess with me look" helps as well. That girl was brave about pulling the gun on wacko woman. I'm glad to see she has good parents in her life. Blessings to her. Everyone, lock your doors always please.
What you said. It is called situational awareness. Be aware of your surroundings and ALWAYS lock your doors. Even if you aren't in a bad neighborhood. Druggies are everywhere these days. I even lock my truck when filling up, when returning the shopping cart. Criminals are looking for victims, not a fight. They are looking for those that aren't paying attention and don't look confident.
We'd always lived in very rural areas so my parents often didn't bother locking doors. Then we had to move into town because my Dad had Parkinson's so we needed to be close to the hospital. Had to train my Mom to lock her doors especially at night. She was convinced that since this was a small town where nothing much happened, she was pretty safe--but she had no idea that once the sun went down, there was a lot of foot traffic through our neighborhood--a veritable highway for transients. Especially after my Dad passed away! Between my sons and I, we trained Mom in all sorts of safety, and took her to the range to make sure she knew how to operate Dad's old Navy revolver--an antique but still quite accurate. We don't live in our grandparent's world anymore. I agree, OP, lock those doors!
@@Doxymeister Amen....I feel I always had some spiritual protection around me, but as a human I must take responsibility for my safety as well and God will continue to add to that protection through the common sense He has given me, His daughter. I never take my protection for granted and over the years I have thanked Him for His Grace in my life. My mom grew up at a time in history that they also didn't lock their doors, however she raised me to ALWAYS be safe and lock doors. Headphones in, looking for your keys, on the phone, lots of bags in hand .. very interesting and insightful. Wish I could remember what or where it was from lol. You are terrific parents! If she had not had a gun to defend herself, there is know telling what would have happened. Once again, an armed America, is a safer America!
It was a woman on drugs. We already know how she acted with the cashier, I highly doubt the situation would have been fatal especially when the police were already practically there. It’s absolutely wild to me how much people in America think guns are the answers when they’ve caused so much destruction and death to your country.
@@brackenrobertson799 This is easy for us, sitting here comfortably in our home viewing the bodycam after the fact. To this 18 yr. old, though, it was a crazy/drug addicted person who was trying to yank her out of her vehicle--clearly unreasonable/unpredictable behavior. The daughter had no idea what was going on in the store, so it has no bearing at all on her choices during her own encounter with cray-cray. You choose to view it as "so much destruction and death", while I choose to view it as "life saving". Several studies (going back to the Obama administration) have shown that guns are used in defensive mode between 1.5 and 3 MILLION times annually, and that's thought to be a low estimate since many of these events never get reported to police since a shot was never fired--the mere showing of the weapon is enough to stop the attack. Personally, I've been forced to use a gun in two incidents many decades apart, to save my life/stop a rape, and I too am very thankful I wasn't forced to pull that trigger. I now fully advocate that women especially should carry--if our prosecutors and judges refuse to put/keep violent offenders in prison, then we must be able to protect ourselves somehow. Cheers.
"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them", believes the guy wanting an armed America.
@@bomorris5050the problem is her age. Must be 21 to have a handgun and she stated she pulled her gun while the woman had the passenger door open. She wouldn't have been able to take a gun out of the glove box without being within the crazy woman's reach. So she was carrying, which I think any adult who is not a felon should be allowed to do period. But legally it is against the law for an 18 year old to have a handgun in her possession. Also it is considered concealed carry in most states to have a loaded handgun out of sight and within reach. But regardless, I'm just glad the officer didn't give her any problems about it. I would likely do the same thing her dad did, because surviving is the most important thing and I would do my best to give her the best defense possible too. I firmly believe in the 2nd ammendment and so I think protecting ourself by carrying a weapon is our God given right and I don't think any nonfelon adult should be charged for carrying concealed. God bless that dad for doing his best to see to his daughter's safety.
@williamgrissom1995 I agree bit I'm a felon because I was walking my dog, cop said probable cause to stop us walking down a hill. He padded me down and found a blunt said you're under arrest, I pulled away with my dog and ran to the front of his car. He got me for resisting arrest with violence. That's a felony because as I pulled I hit his arm. No body cams. So yeah I agree but not in my case as a felon. Everything was dismissed but the felony resist.

Where I live (NYC) the 18 year old would've been arrested for pointing a gun at that nucase - or for having a gun in the first place because we essentially have no second amendment rights. The attacker would've been released likely without charges. People who defend themselves from criminals in NYC get prosecuted more vigorously than the criminals attacking them. A few years ago, an elderly bodega worker who fataly stabbed a big guy who was pummeling him was initially charged - even though it was a clear case of self-defense on camera. His charges were only dropped due to pressure from the public. Last year in Queens, a woman entered her home which was being squatted at the time. When the squatter returned, he called the police. The woman refused to leave and the cops arrested her - even though she had the deed and the squatter had nothing. Again, it took public pressure to finally arrest the squatter and give back the home to the woman. Our justice system is backwards but it's good to see that there is still common sense in other parts of the country.
… if it was New York, the girl probably wouldn’t have a gun so, no, she wouldn’t have been punished. Also, you only mention cases that fit the narrative you’re trying to push. There’s thousands of cases where someone protects themselves and the perpetrator gets arrested and the victim is ok to go. Literally thousands in New York.
What kind of alternate universe is this place?? You got some lady with green hair saying someone else is weird. 😝 You have Lady Madonna without her children at her feet. This is one strange place. 😂😂😂
These parents taught their daughter well. I had a mother like this father, and it made all the difference when I was in a serious incident. Great parents. Great daughter!
"Papa, don't preach, I'm in trouble deep Papa, don't preach, I've been losing sleep But I made up my mind, I'm keeping my baby, hm I'm gonna keep my baby, hm"
The daughter is lucky this happened in NM and not California, otherwise she would have been arrested and prosecuted for brandishing a firearm at a victim of drug addiction when she simply could have surrendered the truck to her instead, and dad would have joined her in cuffs for irresponsible gun ownership. Then the poor addict would have taken them for all their financial worth in civil court afterwards, ultimately ending up with the truck anyway…right California?

Ikr? She ' mentioned ' it several times! 😂
Inserted to the max 😂
It's a good story for her knitting circle.
As she should be! Too many like you don't care and never assist in helping others!!!!
That's YOUR interpretation, not necessarily the truth. At least she called!
Thank goodness for the father preparing his daughter for these wild situations. I’m so glad it ended the way it did bc if it was worse it would have haunted that poor girl. I mean this will but it could have been so much worse.
💯👍
Hi April. Nice picture.
They seemed like an awesome family. Dad and mom both super supportive, teaching daughter how to defend herself, which obviously came in handy.. people are slamming her for having a gun.. I saw no problem at all with how she handled this situation. But we think differently about the 2A in Texas I guess, so maybe I'm the minority on this issue, IDK. I just didn't anticipate all the hate for her protecting herself. They wanted her to just give up her truck?? Yeah, we don't do that in Texas lol.
I can’t watch these cop cam videos anymore. I don’t want to be reminded how nuts this world is.
It is pretty depressing but for me it's a good reminder why I didn't want kids. The whole world has went bonkers
Don't be an ostrich. 😂
I get that way sometimes too honestly.. too much reality hits pretty hard. It's good to remind yourself that these are all compiled at once for entertainment, but it's not like they all happened this week or anything. Viewing body cams for fun is still relatively newer, there's lots of backdated material they show still which makes it seem like a more frequent occurrence than it probably is.. same with the political stuff. Like I had to genuinely pause for a while to remind myself not every Democrat wants to take my guns, censor my speech and turn America cómmunist.. 😂😂 but that's what it felt like with what the algorithm kept sending me! lol. Either way, some funny pets videos now and then is a good palette cleanser.. can't really go wrong with those ❤ also good: people hearing/ seeing color for the first time, soldier homecomings, faith in humanity restored content.. there's at least a couple channels where you just watch a little monkey eat different stuff. Or they have raccoons if you prefer lol. Just tiny little hands grabbing grapes and whatnot.. unexplainably addicting lol
This 18 yr. old handled this with amazing restraint, she chose not to pull the trigger even though crazy lady was trying to pull her out of her vehicle, and she was clearly terrified. Perfect tag-team, Mom, kudos for distracting crazy lady long enough for your daughter to make an escape. And the store clerk was quite calm as well, kudos to everyone involved, in order to catch crazy lady with no-one getting hurt.
THANK YOU!! People are getting in her case for having the gun. One reason was because she was nervous..? Who wouldn't be?? That doesn't mean you shouldn't be able to protect yourself though, good Lord. We always say don't pull it out unless you intend to use it, and she intended to if the threat didn't work first. But I think she did everything really well. I see no problems with it. I was really expecting more people to give her props for it.. but nope. I guess I'm the odd man out on this issue.. but I was born and raised in Texas yknow? We do things differently down here I guess. 🤷🏼♀️
That dad taught his little girl well, she was ready and stopped a potential threat.

🎶🎶 Good one! 😂
I grew up in Tampa, Florida and she did as well, however she was born in 1921. I was born in 1966. My mom knew about the changes and she warned me with love. I suppose that's why I really haven't had anyone harm me. Stay safe and know that God watches over you and your family. Blessings.
I lock my door as soon as I get in my SUV. Situational awareness is where it's at.
They've done interviews with different guys before, predators, robbers, basically all the types that you'd be afraid of walking in a parking lot alone. It was a whirlwind back, but very interesting. They told you stuff they looked for, predator liked pony tails, easy to grab onto and control someone by. Headphones in, looking for your keys, on the phone, lots of bags in hand .. very interesting and insightful. Wish I could remember what or where it was from lol. But might get lucky and RUclips something similar at least. Worth the watch if you want to know how prepare properly according to the people you'd be preparing against. ❤
Reason 12846 why 2A is so important
You are terrific parents! If she had not had a gun to defend herself, there is know telling what would have happened. Once again, an armed America, is a safer America!
It was a woman on drugs. We already know how she acted with the cashier, I highly doubt the situation would have been fatal especially when the police were already practically there. It’s absolutely wild to me how much people in America think guns are the answers when they’ve caused so much destruction and death to your country.
Get a grip, her mum came out and got rid of the woman, no gun was really needed.
@@brackenrobertson799you don’t think people on drugs would hurt someone?
I'm glad officer didn't get the 18 year old daughter for carrying a gun.
You car is considered an extension of your house in the state of New Mexico. You can have a gun in your car just like you can have one at your house.
It's legal in most states
It may have been the parent’s gun anyway. She can use it to protect herself.
I sometimes think this world is getting crazier. Then I realize these cops have been dealing with these crazies every day for years before RUclips came along. Wow, they could each write a best seller bio

Who called 911?
The guy that sang the song.
The way the cashier was so composed was impressive.
Anyone who was an adult in the 70s/80s/90s were there this many insane people? Whether mental or drug related? Serious question .
Nope. I'm a retired flight attendant. I flew all over the planet for 27 years. We never had the number of crazy people you see on bodycams and cellphone videos in airports and on airplanes. I used to absolutely LOVE staying in San Francisco, L.A., and NYC on long layovers. I always felt safe riding public transportation or going out for a run. I wouldn't stay in any of those places now.
There may have been. If it was, it wasn't reported on the news and seeing back then there wasn't any social media such as RUclips, to watch this stuff.
I was a young adult in the mid 1970's. I went clubbing, to bars, rock concerts. I never worried about people. I never saw women fighting or screaming. We had jobs and were responsible for ourselves, couldn't risk going on a bender or drugs. I had rent and bills to pay. No matter how late you came home or how many drinks you had, you needed to get up and go to work. I didn't see my first homeless person until I was well into my 30's. I don't know how anyone can work retail now.
Nope. I’m 70 & am appalled at how insane & dangerous the world has become. The worst part IMO is that punishments don’t fit the crimes & too many people get probation time after time.
We did not have the internet so we cant tell but there were plenty of crazy people in the 70s it was not that magnified through the lenses of what everyone can see
The real mystery here is who called 911. I can’t figure it out.
She sounded like SHE was a mental health crisis with that repetitive comment
😂
the sign for the gas station says "Chaos is here" lmao
Great job, young lady at the end... you did fantastic... deep breaths...
After that was done I know that father went somewhere and cried his eyes out and smiled and laughed so proud 🥲
The poor police have to put up with this shit on a daily basis.
I'm amazed how they constantly have to be mental health therapists while doing policing duties. They never know what kind of crazy they're going to deal with on every other call.
She would be out on bail in a few hours. In and out, it's a revolving door.
I feel bad for the 18 yo. People say 18 means you're an adult, but they really aren't. They don't have enough life experience to handle adult situations unless they've lived a life of crime as a juvenile.
It legally means you're an adult (in this country), but that's it. Otherwise, you're right.

Okay lady we get it you called 911 good job
Exactly 😅
Wrong
Yea we know. NY sucks.
Thousands in NY have protected themselves with a gun?
Embellishments.

Now THAT is how you parent! Big shout out to dad! Yeah, your daughter is rattled, but she is safe and unharmed. And still has her truck.
All right any takers are the Republicans and who is the Democrat between the two parties !
