I’ve been doing this for the last two weeks! It’s simply amazing what you can create when you get creative! I’m having the best time! I love to cook so that helps!
Your rolls and bread turned out beautifully! My husband is the bread and roll baker in my house and he always uses a sourdough starter. I pantry/refrigerator shop at least one a month. Thanks for the meal ideas Maria!
Thanks for the great ideas! If I’m ever home long enough, I’m going to try and make bread. I feel like I’m always in a pantry challenge(because I live in the middle of nowhere), so anytime I can make something from scratch that I would otherwise buy, it’s a win win. Also, the smell of baking bread is right up there with wet sagebrush in my opinion.
I purchased a cheap multi blade box cutter type knife. I only use for bread. Keep it in the kitchen drawer and is retractable for safety. It does a wonderful job without cutting too deep. Your bread is beautiful.
Most mornings I have 1/2-3/4 cup Cottage Cheese, 2 Tbsp Salsa Black Bean and Corn favorite, 1/2 banana, 1/2 -1 Avocado and usually 1tsp Peanut Butter. This combo gives me protein, Vit A, C and B as well as minerals. It holds me for hours so I am not as hungry as I would be if I ate cereal.
God love you for sharing how you use what you have for recipes. As for the bread- I'm sure it's Amazing but most of us don't have the time to make this incredible creation.
@MealsWithMaria think I could use some diced tomato, green pepper and onion, plain can tomato sauce and a taco bell Diablo packet? Lol super pantry challenge over here... #extremeedition 😅
You did a really good job on the sourdough :) I have had my starter for a year now going and still feel intimidated with loafs of bread 😬 i use my sourdough and makes bisquits and muffins and banana breads and those all turn out fine. Oh and I’ve done bagels and cinnamon rolls also. I follow-Lisa from farmhouse on the boon and just trying to learn this whole sourdough journey. It’s a lot of fun but also nerve wracking hahah.
When you are making bread, you want to use a scale to measure the weight in grams. It’s very precise and needs to be measured this way. Otherwise I always use cups tbsp etc😀
My Mom called sausage and eggs together "egg supreme". We felt like we were something special on the days we got a supreme breakfast!
Aw cute I love that!
My Mom mixed all of the cereal box remnants and called it, “Magic Cereal.”
We thought we were livin’ large 😎

Yes bc this sounds like the most stressful thing I could do. 🤷♀️
Awesome work! So glad you’re having fun!
I do this every Saturday afternoon then make meals for the week from Sunday-Wednesday when I will cook again. I have two large freezers
Fabulous! Love it!
It always puts a smile on my face seeing Market Basket products! :)
If you know, you know!

Ugh… I need to do this REALLY bad!! Thanks for the inspiration!! ❤
You got it!
I need to do this but with older food that gets put off.
Best description and demonstration of sourdough and forming of rolls and loaf.

I’m doing a pantry challenge for all of September. Thanks for the inspiration!
Shelftember!!!
Good luck. All month is a long challenge; I will feel proud if I make it a week.

I can see that! They say it’s a rhythm, and if you get in the habit it just becomes part of your regular routine 😀
If you ever don't have enough fresh diced onion, you can reconstitute some dry minced onion. Thanks, Maria!
Yes! I need to try that I do have some!
Awesome recipes, thanks 👍❤️👍❤️👍
You’re welcome!
You are a riot, with the old Walmart bread. 🤣🤣🤣 keeping it real👍❤️

What were you using to cut the flower petals on the bread? Thanks
It’s just a razor blade. I believe they have scoring knives that are better to use 😀
Thanks!
Great Job love pantry challenge using up recipes 👏
Great ideas, thank you. Where can i find your sourdough recipe? Thanks again
I just saw it.
So glad you found it!

I learned from Lisa too!!! Good for you! It’s a bit of work but that bread recipe is foolproof if you follow the steps!
Waste not want not. I am going to try to empty my whole kitchen and then restock stuff I actually like.
Whats with the metric measurements, most of us do not use that for measuring.

We well stretch our food also and not shop for one month.
What is Tommy favorite meal ?
Burgers! He also loves rib eye 😅 expensive taste…

Waiting for the sourdough recipe... uses yeast. 🤦
