    A most beautiful countryside area, Patrick. Totally unspoilt, with lovely surrounding views from the ridge of different hills. Eastnor Park seems lovely, and that obelisk is massive when you stood at the side of it. Very enjoyable to watch, Patrick, and many thanks for the presentation.

    My late father, Augustus,real name, mind you, was a coal miner here on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. How many times my late mom Judy, would make him sharp cheddar, mustard pickle and ham sandwiches. He would always bring back the crust with bits of the above leftover for me and my brother to tussle over. I'll never forget the black finger prints on the crust from the coal dust.
    There is nothing like a homemade sandwich with a tea in the outdoors.
    Your video brought back a fond memory. Thanks on both accounts, Friend!
    Cheers
    William

    That was fabulous thank you. I am not familiar with Worcestershire or the Malverns at all so it was a real eye opener and I have to say the accompanying music was perfect for the movie.

    Two fantastic videos of the first three Malvern hills uploaded in just one week. You are spoiling us Patrick. This is another fantastic walk and video and you picked a lovely, if windy day for it mate. Paul Beachcroft

      Thanks Paul, another four on their way as I've covered all of the Malvern Hills. It was certainly windy on this walk but you'll find out over the next few weeks it became a lot more so as I went further north. Thanks as always Paul for watching and commenting 😃

    Patrick that was brilliant,so chuffed to have these new Solitary Rambler films to enjoy,the obelisk and surrounding area looked just like the Captain Cook monument on my favourite walk at Roseberry Topping,superb presentation,editing,music etc,what can I say that I haven't already,thoroughly enjoyed that and looking forward to the next four more than any series on tv,thanks so much for all the hard work you've put into that so that you're able to share it with us,
    Pete.

      As always Pete you are very kind with your comments, which I always appreciate very much. I've never been to Roseberry Topping, although I have heard of it. Hope to get there one day, as with many other places I'd love to visit. So pleased you enjoyed this so I'm sure you will like the remaining four films in this series when they are all uploaded over the next few weeks. Thanks again Pete for all your lovely comments and for watching. Cheers, Patrick :)

    Hi Patrick,
    We just missed bumping into each other as I did the walk to Midsummer Hill last June. However I did not walk to the obelisk. Thanks for letting me bs able to relive the Malverns from my lounge room in Australia.

      @solitaryrambler  5 лет назад

      Hi Del, you'll be familiar with his walk then. It wasn't very far to walk to the obelisk and back so for me it was worth it. Thanks as always for your kind comments and for watching 😃

    Loved it. So scenic and idyllic, it really is a lovely part of our beautiful country. Seems you did quite a walk that day with a lot of it uphill. Great views of the countryside it must he nice to live in a cottage up there away from it all, one day i may purchase one myself. Thanks for all your time and effort, it really takes you away from it all watching your rambles.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  5 лет назад

      Thank you Kelly, there wasn't too much uphill walking on this one to be honest with you but any climb was worth the effort because of the views. Hope you get your cottage one day! 😃

    another good one the ducks reminded me of the time our walking party on a canal tow path in worksop was interrupted by a group of swans that would not give way and rushed us wings flapping and squawking loudly ! quite disturbing !!

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  5 лет назад

      Thanks Gregg, yes swans can be rather intimidating. I had similar problems with geese in the past. When you see them running towards you with their sharp beaks I don't hang around haha! 🤣

    Nice job Patrick. I didn't realize it was such a nice place. We don't hear enough about the Malverns. You've chosen some great scenes here. I quite liked your old talks about family matters... It was so refreshing to see what someone else thought about such things and the difficulties of life. And made us all feel that we aren't the only ones going through these. Too many keep their feelings close to their chest and you have to second guess what's going on. Plus it gave us a chance to have feelings for you about what you were going through. I do like hearing your stories. No matter if they're good, bad or funny incidents. You're a decent guy. God bless. Maybe you can make a ranting video in the future ! Plus I really enjoyed those earlier videos where there was a whole story line. It's a pity your gang can't get back together and make some stories.

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks for all your kind words David. I like to tell the old story in a film if and when I can, but I do find now that I don't want it to overshadow the walk I'm doing so, so I've learnt how to balance all that much better now. Thanks again David and all the best to you. Cheers, Patrick 😃

    Aaah, the fabulous Malvern Hills. But no duck dinner? I have to get back up there Patrick and will do this year. Your walk is inspiring me. I see the obelisk there and it reminds me of the Big Chill festival. Paul and I did the bins one year. They never looked after us after hard work and we walked off site back into Ledbury. It says Part 2 so I look forward to the next one. Hey, good to have no family issues - just you and the hills. All the best out there. Mark

    • @solitaryrambler
      @solitaryrambler  5 лет назад +1

      Haha I actually felt a bit mean Mark because I had nothing to feed the ducks! 🤣 Nice to know this has inspired you. You and Paul must have felt quite unappreciated after the Big Chill Festival. I understand the festival no longer happens every year. Yes this is part 2, I've made 6 films in the Malverns from last year so I'll post the other four over the next few weeks. I certainly did enjoy the hills Mark, I know you can empathize with that. Thanks as always Mark for watching and commenting. Hope you have a really great week. All the best to you. Cheers, Patrick 😃
