  • Today I will teach you how to make a flaky, buttery peach pie using fresh peaches. Nothing is better than warm peach pie served with a drop of ice-cream. Making a pie is not difficult and I am happy to show you how easy it is to roll out a tender mouth watering pie crust.

I don’t like the store bought lard tho. Too much stuff in it to make it shelf stable at room temperature. I get my fat from a farmer and melt it myself.

My favorite pie! Beautiful pies! When I do pie dough, I use a cheese grater to grate the cold butter into the flour and then go at it with the pastry cutter. I use half shortening and half butter. Like Chad, my husband couldnt tell the difference either. Thank you for making my Monday morning a little brighter. God bless you both!💜

I've been very sick with COVID-19 and have been in the hospital since July 1st. I almost didn't make it a couple of times but I'm still here and I'm about to be discharged very soon. It's just been a very long time being so sick and then recovering. I'm much better now and I'm planning to go back to work on October 12th. I survived COVID-19!! I fought really hard and prayed a lot!! Thank God for being my main Physician!!

I swear by Crisco in my pie crust instead of butter. It's so much more forgiving!
I also started using the tip you gave last year at Thanksgiving of putting a little tapioca in my pie fillings, and I LOVE IT! I usually freeze my peaches because I don't have canning equipment, and so they are extra runny when I thaw them out. The tapioca makes a huge difference in the texture of the filling.

Wonderful video that sat my mouth to watering when your husband took a bite. A family duel is pie between my sister and I. I use shortening......and years ago Martha Stewart told her to use butter! So, I totally prefer shortening for a flakier, delicious crust. What I want to compliment you on is your peaches!! They look like they came right from the fruit farm! Totally lovely and good enough to sell. But gone are the days of the old church bazaars when ours use to sell . That was so much fun, with such great memories of the good old days!!!love you folks!

Thank you very much for this video. Pie crusts are very intimidating for me. My mother-in-law makes the most delicious apple pies. Her crusts are very flaky. DELICIOUS. I tried making a pie twice and was not successful at it, so I quit trying. You make it look easy, so you've inspired me to give it another whirl.
The comment you made about gifting someone a pie and them not appreciating it and shame on them just rings so true for me. Cooking/baking can be difficult for some and the last thingyou need is an ungrateful person. Thank you again, stay safe and many blessings!
