    AVAILABLE HERE: bit.ly/tflRacin...
    First outing of this new boat so we took it onto the canal behind my favourite pub. This boat is easy to put together with the simple instructions. This version needed installation of the steering servo and receiver. Then it was simple to bolt on the rudder and the propeller. A 4S4000 to 4S5000 pack with an XT60 connector is needed. The throttle can be setup to be zero at low stick or mid stick. At mid-stick setup you also get reverse which can be handy if you get stuck. The boat has some good speed after it gets up on the water. That can take a second or two but then it's away. Turns can be smooth or sharp. At speed the boat kicks up a nice rooster tail. This was just a quick test run. We'll be taking it out on a lake soon !
    Filmed by Nic Mitchell behind our favourite pub before a few beers using the Panasonic AG-UX180 Pro 4K camcorder.

    Good/fast looking beauty. But scream for much larger water. Full speed number 8 will realy proof the agility 👍👏

    Cool. You can hear the motor load up after it gets on step.

      I've tried adding a couple of cells into planes a few times. It always results in smoke and flames ! LOL Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

    Its a remarkable hull to be a china copy.
    Ive hit 85 mph with it, of course with some setup changes. Its as steady as train on tracks.

    Anyone else get nervous about how close he set the radio to the edge of the canal at the end...?

    Yes definitely starts to move quick once it gets up on step there dom , i have the X-Blaze Running 4S with a 90amp esc that can handle 6S but 4S was way quick enough for me and its like on rails as is the TFL , great bit of fun to divide between the planes for a nice change , thanks for sharing have a great week-end DOM

      Thanks Andrew. I'll get this on a lake next week when the weather improves. Will do that on 4S and then drop a 6S pack into it. Just worry it'll cook the motor...but hey, if you don't try you'll never know. Have a good weekend.

      @@EssentialRC yes too right im actually thinking along the same lines the speedie says 6S but i wonder about the motor , but i suppose short 3-4 second bursts should be ok and letting a few seconds to cool in between bursts, either way will be interestingly fun ill say lol

    WOW! That boat is spry! Great video! I just have one small question. When playing this video, I detected a very high pitched whine (not the motor). Is it possible the remote's throttle control is playing with the audio? Are you using a wireless mic? It seems to follow the throttle even before the motor noise gets loud, or when the boat is some distance, and is turning about. Odd, eh?

    just a suggestion for you , you show how much water gets into this boat an to stop this you should use boat tape over the hatch so water does not get in as much .. I hope you do not mind my suggestions 👍👍👍😎😎

      I hear what you are saying but there was no water inside after this run on the water. They do provide boat tape with this RC if you need it. Cheers Dom (Essential RC)

    Which servo did you get and which receiver are you using?

  • @russsmith9042

    I wouldn't try reverse if I was you unless you got the integrated drive because it'll push water all up in the boat through the drive shaft cuz it spins the opposite way and it makes like a corkscrew or whatever in it like pushes water in the boat

    Cavitation.. give it a tad negative on the prop and bring the weight a little forward 👍

      sounds good there MarkHahn could you explain a little on the negative part as i have a similare boat and take a few seconds to get moving as like you said it spins in empty air/water(cavitating) then decides to grip and woowa she's a moving i have metal 90 deg plates either side and at the very end pointy finger type forks that go into the water on turns .

    So why does the motor do that take a second to get up to speed?

    • @RunThatRC
      @RunThatRC 4 года назад

      It sounds like that because the boat is fighting drag to get on plane. But once on plane it glides on top of the water with little resistance and then it rips!

    At about $500 Australian I'm not sure I'd get a lot more fun out of it on the local billabong than with a couple of mates and sub-$60 Skytech H100s. Or for the Rooster Tail Ratbags, the Feilun Ft 012/011. ;-)

    • @chuckfarley5415

      Do not wax the bottom of the hull!.. Its far better to bump sand any steps, sponsons etc with something like a 320grit. Wax actually creates traction on the surface. What you actually want is water on water slip.

    • @matthewjames2649
      @matthewjames2649 4 года назад

      @@chuckfarley5415 if the bottom of the boat is not waxed then it's going to create drag in the water.. think of a car after you just waxed it you can throw a rag and slide to the end of the car..
