I love your guys' reactions to stuff. Also the way you refuse to follow the beaten path. BTW I'm glad you found the map, but if you press Y on the map, you get a master list of the total number of moons (AND purple coins!) that are possible to collect in your current location. The dashed outlines in the top left when you're playing normally are the number of moons you need just to be able to fly the Odyssey to the next world.

The sinking abyss that you hit the sheep into is actually another section of the map with more purple coins and moons

Go back to the Cascade kingdom to get the power moon you get from the the shop and the items for purple coins.BTW,go to the map and press the y button to go to lists.It will show you the amount of power moons there in the kingdom and what you capture in the game.
