I couldn’t stand Jedward when they were on The X Factor, but I absolutely adore them now. They’re sweet and wholesome and hilarious. They’ve been known from time to time to call or DM their fans at random and say positive things. This isn’t something they film for content or publicity, they just do it to be nice. I once got a message from them telling me I was doing incredible and that they were proud of me. I know it was probably a generic message they sent to lots of people, but it came at a time when I was really struggling, and Jedward were the hype men I didn’t know I needed!
Oh and not only are they friends with Tara Reid, but when it looked certain that the UK, Ireland, and the USA were about to go into lockdown, she flew them out to LA to quarantine with her and her boyfriend. She said if she was going to be confined to her home, there was no one else she’d rather be locked down with. They’ve also been vocal about support for Gaza, they’ve spoken out against abuse in the Catholic Church, they’ve protested against JK Rowling for her transphobic comments, and they shaved each other’s heads on live TV to raise money for a cancer charity after their mom passed away (and that was a big deal at the time as their tall hair was their trademark). There’s loads more I could say, but this comment is already way too long. They should be protected at all costs.

I remember seeing Jedward on Never Mind the Buzzcocks and even though they were annoying, it was endearing. Like they're just perpetually trying to lighten up the mood and i cant get mad at that lol
That’s why they keep getting invited back on to Pointless Celebrities. Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman adore them because they’re just so sweet. I remember one episode where they made it to the final and everyone was rooting for them because they’d usually gone out early.
Spoiler alert:
The category was something to do with dog breeds. Whilst they were deliberating, they talked about all the breeds of dogs they, their friends, and family members had owned in the past, and some of them were pretty rare. Then for their final answer they chose 3 of the most generic dog breeds they’d mentioned 😂 None of them were pointless. Then Richard pointed out that they actually named several pointless answers and they could have won the jackpot. It felt so on brand for Jedward 😂
On the note of the bird song, I feel there's some important context there. The bird song has always been part of Big Brother, both the celebrity edition and plebian edition. It's not necessarily for things they can't air, but also for things that they actually want to air.
Because the stream is live 24/7 and used to be live throughout the night on analog TV, producers would be up watching to see if something interesting was happening. When something starts to kick off, they switch to the bird song, because they're going to want to re-air that in the main broadcast.
So with that, it's actually really difficult to tell whether bird song is being played because something can't be aired or because they'll want to air it.

They still do that! Not just to people who’ve DM’d them, sometimes they’ll just pick a follower and message them. I got a really sweet message from them last year telling me that I was doing excellent and that they were proud of me 🥹
Jedward are actually good singers but really directed to camp it up for the X Factor. When they actually sing normally, they are pretty good.

Im sorry... I love Jedward. Im around their age etc so was exposed to them as a teen. Yes theyre annoying but they never seemed mean spirited in any way and thats why I couldnt help but smile. They were like two bumbling toddlers in their own twin world... bless them 😂 💕

Before I watch, I will not stand for any Jedward slander, I was at the event where one of them fell, i laughed obviously and they finished the set. But when the report came out that ge broke his leg and carried on like a pro, I have ever since respected them.
I’m 20 now, but when I was a kid growing up here in Ireland I was a huge Jedward fan. I even saw them perform live twice about 12 or 13 years ago. I still have a soft spot for them lol.
