Hey 60$ is absolutely a "fair" price for a L260!! My petstore has them for $74.99 if that makes you feel any better....lol I wish we had stuff like this club auction in Pensacola FL we don't have any fish clubs at all!!!

I went, twice, and I loved it. Next year, I am going to sell some fish (I am currently breeding Pelvicachromis pulcher, bristlenose pleco and platy livebearer)

I've the pleasure of doing these twice a year with the Champaign Area Fish Exchange in Champaign IL. The last couple of years I have really tried to go for equipment over fish but their are always deals to be had. Ive gotten really lucky with big cichlids including a pair of full grown frontosas at under 20 each. Another auction I bought a 40 gallon tank and stand for 20.00 and did the entire set up including fish for under 60.00. If you have a shot to go to an auction it can be really worth the trip.

I didn't know that such true auctions for pets exist. Here in Germany it's more like hobbyists sell their fishes' offspring, but it's no true auction in the sense that you bet on certain specimens.
You might get problems with your gymnogeos, as they prefer cooler temperatures compared to the other species in your tank.
This is an article on gymnogeos that deserves to be read: www.tfhmagazine.com/details/articles/gymnogeophagus-the-glittering-eartheaters-of-the-far-south.htm

Thanks for the info! I had heard that was the case. Wasn’t sure if it was true. Maybe a new tank for them!
