I’ve decided I’m going to more auctions this year!

That was a fun video. I wish we had something like that here in Tennessee

Thanks for the nice explanation. I am fortunate that my local club (PRAC on Fb) does have a large fish auction every fall here in the Greater Toronto Area. What you described is very much the way our auction works also. Last fall I picked up some nice things. Another tip is to NOT sit along the sides and always be double sure that the auctioneer actually see's you hold the card up (perhaps moving it slightly so that he does see it) because if he never saw it you never were in the bidding even though you held it up. Happy bidding!

Cool strategy. It's always good to have a strong strategy whenever you go to an auction. It's just as important as your research!

Awesome bidding advice. Auctions are addicting they really are. I write down my max bid on my card so I don't get confused and over pay. I usually bid on fish that I can't get at my local LFS so I have to factor in the shipping I would have paid. So I I can get them for less than the price of the fish and shipping I'm ahead of the game. I'll see you at the N.E.C.

good advice! I like the idea of a max bid price, but i'm always willing to over pay if it means getting a bag that will compliment an earlier bag and complete a breeding group- it also depends if you are hunting for something specific or not, i've wanted montezuma swords for years but this was the first good opportunity to pick up multiple bags from multiple sellers at the same time

Our club has a $2 a bag to bump bags. I have always felt that bumping bags opens you up to over paying.

only if you bump too early, if you hold your bumps until you are planning to leave you'll do just fine.

Greg Jones understood. Our auctions are kind of crazy. They go from 11am to almost 7 at night lots of buyers and lots of sellers. I have been tempted to go out of my local area to see how it is different.

So are you saying that if you bid an lose you still have to pay or can you keep your money
