Sadly the topic didn't address the epidemic of lonely men, who desperately try to get a woman, but don't. Their longing is so strong they are so deprived of touch, that they turn to medicine to get what they want on their own bodies.

I was in Ottawa on business last week, and while picking up dinner, a trans woman was in front of me. That person had an ill fitting, too short dress, and clown makeup and I had to struggle not to stare. Not because it was a trans woman, but because the outfit looked like drunk pantomime. That’s what I think I resent the most, not even that we’re supposed to accept them as women, but they can present in a manner that would incur strange looks if a woman did it, but because there trans we’re supposed to ignore they look bizarre. If an actual woman presented as this person did, I would have assumed some sort of untreated mental illness.

And so much goes unsaid. Especially cuz he has evolved into a public Trans advocate who is invited to international women’s day events. Recently family reminded me that unsaid is best. I ended a relationship with my (very straight, very male) abusive ex when he went on yet another resentful rant about how no one understood him. He had been saying for a few months that he was queer, but this was the first time he said ‘I am trans’. I just knew in a really profound intuitive way that he had hit upon the ultimate stick to beat me with emotionally. He had found something that was unanswerable and unchallengeable, with which he could require me to cater to him and his ‘needs’ and his fetishes, and claim that I was ‘phobic’ or ‘narrow-minded’ or ‘discriminatory’ if I refused or questioned. It just felt so clear to me that this was the beginning of an absolute campaign of control and coercion. Just as the film highlighted, this happened at a time when he was no longer the focus of my attention because we had broken up and got back together, and he was no longer living in my house, and I think he could tell I was starting to really question his control move away from him emotionally.

I am not a trans widow, but listening to the stories of trans widows helped me immensely immediately after I fled my abusive AGP college roommate, immediately after my 19th birthday. I was so alone, confused as to what had happened to me and why, and these women helped me see that I was not crazy, I was not evil, I was not alone in this. Their experiences, while more extreme, reflect so much of my own in that tiny dorm room. I tried to speak out last year and was silenced, bullied, and essentially forced to leave my university campus forever. I'm hoping to find my voice in the coming year as I restart my undergrad at a reputable university with a reasonable freedom of speech policy. Thank you for this documentary. I hope more sisters stand with me next time than did before.

I am a detransitioner. I like to think I wasn't as overtly, aggressively narcissistic as the trans folks depicted in this film.
Guess what! Every tranner thinks that they were the truly feminine one; the one pure daisy in the field of weeds. I had that stupid surgery, and it didn't "make me a woman". No surgery can. I needed good therapy, probing questions about psychological and physical abuse in childhood. Instead I got my **** cut off, my body mutilated.

They call fathers “sperm donors”, so unless I’m being unreasonable in asserting that manhood and fatherhood are more complex and inherently significant than the term “sperm donor” implies, I feel at liberty to point out that this kind of dehumanization is hardly exclusively directed at women. Every objectionable thing that this ideology is doing to women and girls was already being done to men and boys prior to 2015 when the gender insanity begun, it might appear that women and girls are under a disparate degree of attack, but frankly that’s only because: on the one hand, women and girls and the essence of femininity is far less vulnerable to subversion than men and boys and the essence of masculinity are, which makes them a FAR more difficult target; and on the other hand, the attack upon men and boys and masculine identity has been going on for so long that we don’t even notice it as an aberration. The progressive mission to supplant masculinity with misandry has been institutionally and culturally achieved already, what we are now observing is the pursuit to achieve the next item on the progressive agenda: to supplant femininity with misogyny. I will admit that I lament the lack of concern for men and boys, who have been suffering silently in a milieu of misandry for decades now, compared to the much greater and more immediate concern in responding to the same sort of subversion directed at girls and women; but I have some hope that by attacking women and girls the progressive scourge will become necessarily more apparent to people who are (generally) instinctively inclined to notice and respond to the suffering of women and girls. Progressivism is nothing more than the political practice of nihilism, it would benefit humanity greatly to recognize the fact that misogyny and misandry are simply two sides of the same misanthropic coin.

One thing struck me very forcibly watching this, and that is that AGP is a serious and dangerous mental disorder that is being enabled, applauded and encouraged instead of being recognised and treated before it gets to the horrific levels shown in this film. These women are very brave to talk about their experiences, and I hope it gives more women caught up in this nightmare the courage to leave. I have some sympathy for the men caught up in the escalating obsessive disorder of AGP, but I reserve nothing but total contempt for the medical and psychiatric professionals who refuse to see it for what it is and who enable this behaviour to progress. And we need men to stand up and say to these AGP men, this is not normal masculine behaviour. You need help.

It makes it really easy for totally messed up people like me to start to think that maybe they can become men for 100 different reasons. Two years of testosterone and I'm the biggest dummy on the planet. My wife left me because of it. Yes my same sex wife. But she returned to me as a friend and later lived with me for many many years until go figure uterine cancer led to sepsis and took her away from me again. I'm very happy to have met Exculancic because she went through some of the things I did and she helped me to find a way to leave a part of myself behind with her with my beautiful Rita in order to not delete myself. I agree in principle with what you're saying, however I feel it's important to acknowledge that it's overly simplistic as far as advice goes - it doesn't acknowledge all of the barriers that exist that make leaving an abusive relationship so difficult. And these relationships absolutely ARE abusive!
Protection orders are difficult to obtain, are often simply ignored, if not worse (sometimes they enrage abusers instead). The isolation, loss of economic stability, and extreme lack of any kind of safety net, lack of access to housing and limited shelter resources leave so many survivors with nowhere to go, no support systems, and no access to external resources.
Not to mention that leaving is actually the most dangerous time - something like 70% of domestic violence murders happen during or just after the victim has gotten out.

I think it is way over diagnosed and many people do not profit from hormones/surgeries. The only reliable studies on this show, that surgeries tend to rise the risk of suicide… here in this movie they are also talking about all the other reasons to crossdress (its not only gd). Autogynophilia f.e. I would be highly alert if a middle aged man states that he now wants to be a woman, because then he is most likely not a person with gf. For me the most important thing would be to declare it absolutely illigal to transition children/teenagers and to stop holding the whole society hostage to take part in somebodys delusion.

My ex husband was abused by a girl cousin when he was 13, after his dad died. She dressed him up in girls clothes and did things to him.
After we married, he started off with wearing pantyhose. Claimed he liked how it felt on his legs. I thought it was a little strange but I wasn't vanilla so I figured it was a kink. No biggy. Over the years it ramped up to women's underwear, him wearing makeup, heels, nail polish, etc. Then it was things being put up his "back package" which I tried once but then couldn't continue. It all degraded into him being humiliated to get gratification.
It was never intimacy, he ignored my pleasure completely. I was used as a prop to degrade him so he could get off. 😢 I've been out 6 years and still healing.
He hated women but wanted to be one? He never touched my V in 14 years but wanted to have one? I was in competition with my _husband._ It was so twisted and horrifying for me. I felt lied to, tricked.....because I was.
Trauma therapy helped a lot and having a healthy & loving husband that's walked alongside me as I've healed has helped me as well~ big time. ❤

These cases are all clear instances which fit the definition of Domestic Abuse. It's staggering that these men are prioritised, even when children are involved. I don't see how this can possibly continue. It will just take more people to become aware of this phenomenon.
Sending love and support to everyone involved in the making of this film. ❤

We have to stop telling girls romantic stories, and start teaching them the truth of how vulnerable and dependent motherhood makes a woman. So that they choose fathers for their children so carefully, as if it was a matter of life and death. Because it is.

And not just motherhood. Being in a marriage also makes you financially and emotionally vulnerable. There's nothing romantic about having the threat of having nowhere to live used to keep you in that relationship.

Women have been telling other women for centuries about the derangement of men in all manner of ways. In the age of social media it’s increased 100 fold. In many cases, it’s the proverbial “You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make them drink.”
Presenting the truth only works if critical thinking and emotional/psychological maturity are being cultivated within society. Currently we have masses of people who hear facts/truth and quite literally deny them or do mental gymnastics to justify them because they have not cultivated the level of maturity & critical thinking required to respond appropriately.
We’re going to see the kind of upside down world and not only of the likes of the issues in this documentary, for a while. We have two generations of adults who grew up with the ideology that they are always right, only their desires matter, claiming victimization while simultaneously harming others, anyone who disagrees with them are “evil” or bigots and “acceptance” means that everything and anything should be normalized and if you don’t agree, you are the enemy & “fascist”.
So we’re not merely dealing with lack of information or women not sharing important life experiences with other women. We’re dealing with people who quite literally REFUSE to acknowledge the information being presented. That’s a foundational deficit that’s going to take awhile to remedy.

Or, I would propose we stop insisting that women with children lean on the fathers of their children at all. Matrilineal clans are a thing and I honestly believe we should go back to them as much as we can. (Recognizing that some mothers are abusive -- but not so many that *no one* could possibly do this.) Men have had ten thousand years to live up to the responsibility they wanted to claim, and all they've done is ruin our lives trying. Enough.

This is quite possibly the best documentary I have ever watched on RUclips. And the best i have seen in recent memory. The professionalism and attention to detail shines in this. The content had depth and gave an unbiased look at those that suffer when the husband/father decides he is a "woman". Absolutely fantastic. Seeing Helen Joyce in this and all the other first hand stories along with other professionals gives this documentary the gravitas that you see in much higher costing productions. I hope you win many awards, and I am sharing this all over TwitterX and in forums. A++ 5 STARS- Tragically beautiful.

Im a trans widow, my ex's autogynephillia was an offsoot of his extreme selfishness. Narcisisus fell in love with own image. My ex was more in love with himself in women's clothing, and his drugs. and his infantile hobbies like comic book collecting, than he could ever muster feelings for anyone, including his kids.
He was rabidly jealous of me despite my only wanting decent treatment and never doing anything to earn his wrath. He treated our children horribly and tried to trap me economically so i couldn't leave. He was very sexist and treated our daughter poorly yet ŵas jealous of her too. He STILL tries to mess witb us despite divorcing him 20 years ago.
I hate him, i will always hate him for the damage he did. I still go to therapy. All the people i know who have had trans people in their life have similar stories. It killed my support for their movement
