@@maddraugr4667This is pattern welded steel. “Damascus” is used as short hand because it looks very similar, but “true” historical Damascus steel is relatively rare and was not made the same way. In regular conversation you can still call this Damascus though. So don’t worry about it.
I was going to ask if you used 15N20 for the inner core and T10 for the outer layers, but then I read your description 😅 That could definitely have belonged to an Emperor like the Sword of Goujian, or be hung in a museum 2,500 years from now!

The Chikage's design is not a standard katana design, rather it has the design idea:
"What would a katana made in Victorian era London look like?"
