This is a complete shame! An Irish Red Setter shoud NEVER be shaved in that way!!. Please if u have this type of Dog, you must brush and cut just the very ends of the hair...The dead hair can be easy taked off with the right brush but WITHOUT SHAVING the coat. The coat should be keep intact as much as possible.
NEVER SHEER AN IRISH SETTER. I think I was in shock the entire time. Clipper marks will show every time regardless if you do it again/twice. Awful 😩. Research a groomer before committing. Ask for photos of other clients/pets they have done. Not everyone can properly clip a Setter!!
And then the setter never walked out again because he didn't want his friends to see him like this...Sorry pal but you destroyed his top pride which is his hair...

This is clearly a dog that is a pet and they just want his hair off - you would NEVER EVER use a clipper on an Irish Setter's top coat - on the ears, face an neck yes - but even in Germany you would not use this technique - I have showIrish - and pet Irish and would never use any of these techniques - best turned off and not watched unless you don't want your Irish setter looking 'good -
Spaniels and Setters have to be hand stripped to remove the dead hair. Clipping is a pretty bad Idea, the dead fur has to be removed from the skin, not shortened. Clipping doesn't make sense and destroys the hair structure. Good groomers know that
