everybody should stop saying you ruined the piece. that is not possible, you simply dont like this interpretation. Your favorite interpretations of this piece still exist even if it is played by someone on the electric guitar
Great version, I play it in the 8 position with the C pedal on the low E. I think this version is a good combination of the open acoustic original and the rock version. There is no denying the great technique. Great economy technique, I feel this lad could do this stuff standing on his head.
Yes man! after listening a lot of classical guitar versions and playing myself the little wearisome D minor version with all these bass notes Added by differents arrangers ( but never by Bach himself) I prefer your version, it's an excellent rendition of the original music, in a ideal key for the guitar
This is so well done! I'm very glad that you chose *not* to play open ringing notes, of the sort that acoustic guitar covers tend to have! All I'd say is that it sounded a little dry to me... perhaps slightly more legato playing would sound nice?
@@woland99 it is possible but the clarity of the notes depends on what effects your using for example you could probably pull it off on a Teli on a clean channel
Thanks a lot! I agree, dynamics are often neglected or not emphasized enough with electric guitars... On the other hand with a good amp with a distorted sound you get the effect of the tone "cleaning up" when plucking the string softer which also provides a way for expression :)
Just wanted to point out that what you did was very impressive. Of course people commenting what you should do better (tone, rhythm etc,) should always be appreciated and taken into account but I really have to say I disagree with them. This is a very respectable and fun performance of this and AS SOMEONE WHO LITERALLY PLAYS BACH FOR A LIVING I only found it enjoyable. I feel like some comments are just trying to get their punch in without having taken into consideration what you are going for as an overall vision. I get what you were going for and keep doing it. Not every recording of this has to be Baroque style or just like YOYO to be good. Im sure Bach would be pleasantly stunned and proud :)
To add to this: you are specifically not doing this in the style of the Baroque. Your tempo changes were much more tasteful than some Cello recordings and you did it on an electric guitar with drive. It was super fun to listen to. Keep it up
Hello, thanks alot for your comment, I really appreciate it and feel honored by it! Also thanks for your comment about the tempo changes, as far as I remember whenever the tempo changes specifically were mentioned in a comment it was negative, so it was very nice to read that you liked them :)
Hi I enjoyed how you really accentuated parts by varying between the shades of piano and forte! It was a pleasure to see such gentle and thoughtful playing in that way :-) The suit may have been mildly distracting, though!
You dont have to do anything because of the comment. This is your opininon and i like it. Even i dont thats no matter. Thanks for sharing good performance.
One of the best on youtube...there is a lot of version that suck...this I think it's great because I know what mean play and study this...sorry for my english I'm italian
The tone isn't bad, but I can't help being disappointed. The best guitar transpositions of this work are for acoustic guitar, and all of them feature finger-picking simultaneously on multiple strings. All I'm hearing here are single notes. He's not even playing chords.
Hey Michael, thanks for your comment. I played it that way intentionally, as that's the way the cellist perform this piece too and I aimed to be as close to the original as possible (hence I also played it in an as low key as possible, which on a 6 string guitar in e standard tuning is b major. Instead all guitarists I heard play it in a higher d major key, that makes it easier to let the notes ring and make it soud fuller amd more chord like as you can use quite a few open stings.
+Michael English I thought I already posted an answer to this post, but somehow it seems to be gone... The thing is, in the original piece for Cello, there is no simultaneous playing of multiple strings. This version is played in the spirit of the original, trying to stay as close to it as possible (hence also playing it in the lowest possible key on a standard tuned electric guitar compared to most arrangements for guitar that are in D if recall correctly), so it's not that I'm "not even playing chords", it's intentionally played this way.
Oh man, you are a great player, and this is a great arrangement, but you REALLY need to work on your Tone. Next time, please, try using the neck pickup with a more vintage/moderate Overdrive (like a TubeScreamer). Cheers, and keep rocking, dude.
Thanks, but honestly I wouldn't change the tone, but I guess that's subjective. I like it that way, especially how the sound reacts to the playing when picking harder or softer.. I have to agree with you that the neck pickup sounds better for this, but what you hear is the neck pickup despite the pickup selector being in the bridge position, as I messed this up when swapping out the original neck and bridge pickup. When you listen a bit more closely I bet you can also tell that this is a typical neck pickup sound. Rock on
Hello! I love this song a lot! Could you please send me this tab? I tried to send you an email, but It looks it's not working anymore... Thanks in advanced!
Bach was timeless 300 year ago, Bach is timless today and Bach will still be timeless in 1000 years. Therefore it follows that his music can be played on e-guitars, 8-bit sound chips and still sound great.
Hallo Danilo, sorry for the late answer... just send me a private Message here on RUclips with your email and I will send you the tab for this piece :)
its good and a good technique, I support and subscribed. although I would recommend you try to play withy your tone more, add a personal touch to it or backtracks rather than a direct identical cover. still kudos and well done :)
Thanks! I played it in a as low key as possible, which on a 6 string guitar in e standard tuning is b major (The reason is I wanted to get as close to the original as possible (obviously messed up on the instrument choice already ;))). Instead all guitarists I heard play it in a higher d major key, that makes it easier to let the notes ring and makes it soud fuller and more chord like as you can use quite a few open stings (but that's further form the original as well).
Nice execution, but you could have used the Malmsteen style (tone, turning volume knob and effects) like the "Echo Etude Neoclassic demo" to make it look cool and true to classical sound.
It's a Fender Stratocaster made in Korea from maybe the 80s (not sure about that) with some upgrades (bridge and neck pickups, tuners, stainless steel frets, string trees and nut)

+Sachit Ajmani Thanks for your suggestions!
Try it with "ringing" notes - it is impossible to control on electric - music immediately loses clarity and becomes muddy.
@@woland99 it is possible but the clarity of the notes depends on what effects your using for example you could probably pull it off on a Teli on a clean channel
