And good tone and VIBRATO - don't fall for the myth that all jazz sound is Miles, straight non-vibrato type. This is good musical and singing type quality
The "bugle" effect. Bugle plays all sorts of stuff with no valve. Bugle calls are a darn good brass warm up. I have been using that for decades. Also good to know the set of typical calls.
In most brass instruments, (except tuba) you have to blow air while touching your lips together gently but also firmly so you vibrate your lips which causes the sound. To make a higher note you relax your lips more and the opposite to make a lower note (no valve change needed) hope thst helped! Correct me if I’m wrong because I’m not in band (yet) and do not play an instrument (yet) so this info may not be correct lol
Pretty close but you got the techniques for high and low mixed up. Typically a more relaxed embouchure will provide a lower sound and firmer will provide a higher one @@GoofyShorts_Vandeeer
This is so magnificently encouraging. I've been avoiding practice lately because I felt as a late learner (I'm in my sixties and been playing about a year) that I have reached my limit very quickly. This little tune helped me break out and feel encouraged. I can't wait to casually drop this into my warm-up for tomorrow's lesson! Cheers mate, greetings from Northern Ireland and thanks so much.
Thanks for making these videos. I am a clarinetist/tenor sax player that recently started trumpet and these are great videos to hear and try to play with.
I have a few very fast/difficult bars in my sheet music.. I found it easier to close my eyes and memorize the fingerings than try to read it that fast! This isn't super fast, but I might still have to memorize all the accidentals!
Did you hear the hidden note I didn’t show in the music? Do you know the name of this secret note? This note adds style 😎 It doesn’t have to be played all the time. If used correctly it can add spice to whatever you’re playing. That note…my friend, is called a grace note. Use it wisely 😈 P.S If you play this melody 3 times in a row, you’ve just learned an entire song. 🤜🏾💥🤛🏾 🙀 Congrats 😉
Does anyone have any tips for getting a higher range :o? I can just barely hit the highest D at the beginning, and my neck feels very tensed and I get lightheaded after anything like that for a couple seconds. I feel like I'm missing something in all of the 'beginner' videos that still go too high for me (this video is a great fun challenge though, thank you!!!)
brass instruments are based upon natural trumpet (think "bugle") and they can do basic bugle calls with no valve change. A good warm up to play bugle calls, which also exercise double and triple tonguing. Gets you warmed up pretty quick when in a hurry
I'm going to try this since it seems easy but I don't know if I can play that high d smoothly I've just started and that d is not easy for me to play smoothly
Is there a site that has sheet music with the note fingerings under them like this? Just picked back up trumpet after finding enjoyment listening to jazz.
Outro dia vc colocou violino 🎻 eu também gostei. Porque vc não colocou violino dinovo??? Eu prefiro do que essa corneta. Troca aí amor eu não gostei deste não
These are courtesy accidents to remind the player to remember there are no sharps or flats when other accidentals were presented in the previous measure
I promise you, the horn part comes out of only the left AirPod and the bass is louder on the right. That has never happened, so far, this is the only video where that happens.

😄 good ear!
Wait what grace note
@@milkthecow12131 wasnt in the music, but he played a b natural and slurred into the c for a little spice 😋
this almost sounds like the moanin lick from chris bottis performance
And good tone and VIBRATO - don't fall for the myth that all jazz sound is Miles, straight non-vibrato type. This is good musical and singing type quality
As a woodwind I found it astounding that you just played like 5 different notes while only moving one note up and down.
The "bugle" effect. Bugle plays all sorts of stuff with no valve. Bugle calls are a darn good brass warm up. I have been using that for decades. Also good to know the set of typical calls.
It’s cause all of the movement is being made in his tongue and embouchoure
Literally same lol. I have been playing the flute for 3 years and im a beginner clarinet player and this is insane😅

I played the valve trombone in my teens. I'm tempted to buy another listening to you.
The beginning of the song activated my spider sense since it sounds like this years jazz region 😂
