Dear, I don't give a hoot about my kitchen drawers and certainly don't clean them every week of month. Who cares? My drawers. My trash. I have a four-meter dining table, once filled with kids. Now a meter is cat-work-readers-books-computer and whatever stuff. My table. There is no I-will-look-in-your-drawers-judge, so relax. Your niece and nephew are so brave! I think that is way more important, dear, the love we share with others than a super clean house.

I place an old microwave glass tray under the toaster to catch crumbs. Mine is a small square which fits nicely in a corner. I hope that helps you. 🌺🌲🌺

when we built our house 30 years ago, part of the kitchen design included a small desk built in to the cabinetry ... that is our junk space and every month or 2 I'll get fed up with the clutter and have to do a major purging and clean-up ...its only saving grace is that it keeps the clutter off of the counters and table for the most part, but it's almost never actually used as a desk lol. Thanks again for sharing snippets of your days ... and I am thoroughly enjoying the bee keeping - its so fascinating!

Here is a little secret about the tooth fairy 🧚🏿♀️ it didn’t matter the size of the tooth in our house. Teeth were worth big bucks if there were NO cavities 🦷 and if they were kept clean and shiny. All three of our kids always brushed their teeth with no argument because they wanted the big bucks! 😂 Not one of them ever had a cavity! It’s a win for the child and the parents. 😁

I might have a tendency to procrastinate clean up tasks even so the mess gets depressing,and the feeling of being incapable to attack,but when I am face with a situation or challenge I have actually no control over, starting and completing a clean up orovided me with an outlet for the emotions and an actual experience of having control over something, in short, cleaning up can be very therapeutic when one feels a bit out off sorts.❤

Ok, I’m an expert on the Tooth Fairy- retired dental hygienist here. The TF collects them (fyi the healthier the teeth-no cavities, fillings-makes them more valuable and fetch a higher price). They take them back to fairy land and they are used in construction. The yucky ones are crushed up and used for roads and mortar for brick laying. The beautiful ones can be used for just about anything. Because as you know, enamel is the hardest substance in the human body.

Idea - rather than leaving things out to remind you of a task, put it on your phone calendar with a reminder. Color coding helps when I save a task. Green for gardening, pink for me, red for important, yellow for travel, etc. You can always reschedule on your calendar when the reminder pops up. And it keeps your areas clear of clutter, which helps with a peaceful surrounding. It has helped me a lot, and my table stays clear! 😊🎉

How funny the wisdom teeth in your junk drawer! I saved my kids in a box, but not separate for each child. My son's response to what I did ( now adults) was pretty funny as well. I think I gave them 50 cents or more per tooth? Cleaning is therapy, when all is chaotic having 1 room that represents calm really helps. Continuing to pray for your mom and for you Catherine. Celebrate each day by doing the little things for yourself, it's part of recharging your own batteries.

I remember a colleague after visiting her sons future in-laws for the first time, told me with some incredulity, that they clean the toaster after each use and out it away in a cupboard. I never knew there were people who do that. They walk amongst us! 😂 I'm like you, Catherine, my toaster gets moved and emptied on high days and holidays. As for the kitchen table, girl if you could see the clutter on mine you wouldn't feel half as bad. I do try to invite a friend or family member to visit every couple of months just to prompt a tidy up, otherwise the clutter would carry on accumulating! Watching the cats watching you did make me smile though. I know you had to do it in your own time after Pepsi and Blondie, but im so glad you have them now. They are such a delight

Don't worry about cleaning drawers in your kitchen,or cleaning your kitchen when they stay with you. They may not remember what your kitchen looked like,but the time spend with them is so precious for the kids and for you. You'll have some lovely memories one day. I still like to remember the days when my kids were little and life was easier then it is now. My kitchen looks bad at the moment,dishes waiting to be cleaned,but i can't. My daughter and i have covid and feel very weak and tired. I do clean my cupboards but not every week🙈. I love the bees,and this was a very beautiful video. I have a small table by the front door, and put anything there that needs to leave the house, be it library books to be returned, something to be donated, something to be returned to a friend, or the shop. Anything and everything that is meant to leave the house. That way, whenever anyone is going out, it becomes habit to check the table, and take whatever suits the occasion. Re: the teeth. When my cat, Maddy, was young she went through a time when she lost her baby teeth and her permanent teeth grew in. I'd usually find them stuck in the afghan she slept on. I kept them for years in my jewelry box. They were so small, so sweet!

Great tip to clean the microwave is to put a safe dish filled with water and bit of lemon juice. Heat in the microwave for a few minutes and it will steam up the inside and then you can easily wipe it out! Super easy life hack.

Sometimes, cleaning is good therapy. It makes you start to focus on the task instead of letting all your worries or concerns float about in your mind. Then, as the room comes together, you sigh and can rest a bit. I use dollar store plastic bins to keep batteries, maps, pens and tablets, etc. for my kitchen drawers. As for your real teeth...you could use your teeth in a Hallloween skull or scary mask of a toothy witch or a cut pumpkin smile...a good laugh at recycling your teeth and could make it a good laugh by putting teeth in new way EACH HALLOWEEN LOL! Or...make a "dental visit" necklace with your "center amulet molar teeth" on a pearl necklace...just for a good laugh with the dentist!

I grew up on the sixties. Our “tooth fairy” gave us a fifty cent piece. We thought it was magical! Daddy would offer to “buy” the Kennedy half dollar off of us for two quarters. Well two quarters are a lot more money than an old fifty cent piece.🤦🏻♀️Once we received a small bottle of bubbles to blow. Mama saved all our teeth in an old prescription bottle and gave them to each of us. I still have them, and I guess they’ll be something my children throw away while asking, “Why in the world was Mama holding on to these?!!”😂 Always giving us something to remember Miss Katherine. The Turvey nature reserve is lovely so peaceful my allotment is just next door it's a lovely spot to enjoy nature!

Idea - rather than leaving things out to remind you of a task, put it on your phone calendar with a reminder. Color coding helps when I save a task. Green for gardening, pink for me, red for important, yellow for travel, etc.
You can always reschedule on your calendar when the reminder pops up. And it keeps your areas clear of clutter, which helps with a peaceful surrounding. It has helped me a lot, and my table stays clear! 😊🎉

How funny the wisdom teeth in your junk drawer! I saved my kids in a box, but not separate for each child. My son's response to what I did ( now adults) was pretty funny as well. I think I gave them 50 cents or more per tooth? Cleaning is therapy, when all is chaotic having 1 room that represents calm really helps. Continuing to pray for your mom and for you Catherine. Celebrate each day by doing the little things for yourself, it's part of recharging your own batteries.

I remember a colleague after visiting her sons future in-laws for the first time, told me with some incredulity, that they clean the toaster after each use and out it away in a cupboard. I never knew there were people who do that. They walk amongst us! 😂 I'm like you, Catherine, my toaster gets moved and emptied on high days and holidays. As for the kitchen table, girl if you could see the clutter on mine you wouldn't feel half as bad. I do try to invite a friend or family member to visit every couple of months just to prompt a tidy up, otherwise the clutter would carry on accumulating! Watching the cats watching you did make me smile though. I know you had to do it in your own time after Pepsi and Blondie, but im so glad you have them now. They are such a delight

Oh Catherine,did you have your niece and nephew staying at your place? I have 2 kids,i tell you from my expierence,even though you have your niece and nephew. Don't worry about cleaning drawers in your kitchen,or cleaning your kitchen when they stay with you. They may not remember what your kitchen looked like,but the time spend with them is so precious for the kids and for you. You'll have some lovely memories one day. I still like to remember the days when my kids were little and life was easier then it is now.
My kitchen looks bad at the moment,dishes waiting to be cleaned,but i can't. My daughter and i have covid and feel very weak and tired. I do clean my cupboards but not every week🙈.

It has been a while since I made a comment and just realised.....abit like cleaning the toaster! I have loved your adventures to Kew garden and bee keeping. Can't wait to see you harvesting your first bottle of honey. I hope you are doing well and look after yourself and spend as much time with your mum as you need it is a long time when you don't have your parents around any more ❤ we will be here 😊. I have a small table by the front door, and put anything there that needs to leave the house, be it library books to be returned, something to be donated, something to be returned to a friend, or the shop. Anything and everything that is meant to leave the house. That way, whenever anyone is going out, it becomes habit to check the table, and take whatever suits the occasion. Re: the teeth. When my cat, Maddy, was young she went through a time when she lost her baby teeth and her permanent teeth grew in. I'd usually find them stuck in the afghan she slept on. I kept them for years in my jewelry box. They were so small, so sweet!

Great tip to clean the microwave is to put a safe dish filled with water and bit of lemon juice. Heat in the microwave for a few minutes and it will steam up the inside and then you can easily wipe it out! Super easy life hack.

Sometimes, cleaning is good therapy. It makes you start to focus on the task instead of letting all your worries or concerns float about in your mind. Then, as the room comes together, you sigh and can rest a bit. I use dollar store plastic bins to keep batteries, maps, pens and tablets, etc. for my kitchen drawers. As for your real teeth...you could use your teeth in a Hallloween skull or scary mask of a toothy witch or a cut pumpkin smile...a good laugh at recycling your teeth and could make it a good laugh by putting teeth in new way EACH HALLOWEEN LOL! Or...make a "dental visit" necklace with your "center amulet molar teeth" on a pearl necklace...just for a good laugh with the dentist!

I grew up on the sixties. Our “tooth fairy” gave us a fifty cent piece. We thought it was magical! Daddy would offer to “buy” the Kennedy half dollar off of us for two quarters. Well two quarters are a lot more money than an old fifty cent piece.🤦🏻♀️Once we received a small bottle of bubbles to blow. Mama saved all our teeth in an old prescription bottle and gave them to each of us. I still have them, and I guess they’ll be something my children throw away while asking, “Why in the world was Mama holding on to these?!!”😂 Always giving us something to remember Miss Katherine. Thank you!😉
