I've been wearing that for the past year or so. I actually wear it during my entire shift without any issues.
See, I saw this years ago and I've been wishing Safe Life Defense well for it. What most people don't know is that the majority of deaths from active shootings do not come from immediate encounters with the gunman. But rather, gunshot victims bleeding out or succumbing to tension pneumothorax because the SOP in most places is that Fire/EMS will not go into a warm zone until police have cleared it. Which can take 45min to several hours. This vest that Safe Life Defense makes is absolutely a step in the direction to help minimize casualties, both to the victims and to the first responders.
BTW Skinny, there is a guy who I have trained with in Texas who is an excellent instructor and one of the things he does is that he trains Fire and EMS to go into warm zones. His name is Robbie Allmon and his course is P2 Concepts. Check him out!
I keep one of these in my ambulance.
You're 100% right, I wear this for any warm or hot Zone. Also if we are first on scene to an unresponsive patient in a car for instance.
Wrap the mic cord coils around the antenna to get rid of the floppy cord. Works wonders
UPDATE!!! As of yesterday (12-2-2020) Safe Life Defense's 3A soft armor is NOW NIJ CERTIFIED! This is awesome.

You can get a tourniquet in the flashlight holder. I have a gen 7 CAT in mine.

Steel plates are idiotic . Get ceramic plates . 1/3 the weight , no spawl , 50$ more only .

Is that the vest from the commercial I keep seeing before the videos? “Not only is this the ONLY vest that will stop stabs, slashes, rifles, armor piercing” and that as far as I’ve ever gotten because it seems so ridiculous that a 3a is being claimed to stop rifle and AP lol.
Hm. I don't remember them claiming their 3a's will stop rifles. I know some people have tested it to block ap. They also have their rifleproof ones, but those are super expensive. I forget what they call those.

Yes we can on certain calls.

What is the size of the Velcro on the flap pouch on the front?
Is that actually glow-in-the dark, or retroreflective?
The MED glows and the strips are reflective.

Yes
I could be wrong but I haven't seen anything that says safe life defense is NIJ certified I think it's just made "in accordance to NIJ"

Know what I was just thinking after you made it known that someone asked you to show how the plates sit in there. They know what the plates look like sitting in there. There are so many videos on this matter. Did you ever give thought to the fact that there are serial criminals out here? And to the fact that they just wanted to see what type of armor that you have? There are so many videos on here showing the destruction of the armor. Someone could be asking because they want to match up your armor pads to the videos showing what type of round defeats your armor that you trust with your life. Sounds wild and crazy, but, yet and still, there are people out here that do these things leaving your loved ones wondering why you were chosen.

That's not a plate, it's a ballistic panel..
Boycot Safelife defense. They do not own up to mistakes. Manager just repeats what his script tells him to say. I had a poor fit and they strung me along until I could not return it. I even have emails from them . After looking at my photos showing them that there recommended size is too big. They still wouldn’t replace it.
Too bad it’s not NIJ certified...
That's my biggest and only problem with safe life defense. Otherwise I'd jump on it.
