    as someone who lost 20 kilos over the last year, I agree with everything you say, but I will add that for me personally exercise is key, not because I burn so many calories, but because when I exercise a lot I naturally crave more healthy food, and thus it's much easier to eat well. when I don't exercise my diet slips as well. plus mentally I feel much better when I exercise a lot, and when I feel good mentally I take much better care of myself

    I'm one of those people that refuses to do two trips for anything. But after starting a remote job, I've been struggling to stay active enough during work hours. The tip to just split a tast into multiple trips has REALY helped, I'm easily meeting my steps goal! (And dropping fewer things hahaha)
    Thanks Lucy!!!

    I’ve tried losing weight before with just calorie counting , and if I did exercise I *thought* I wanted to do something I could zone out on- like a treadmill or stationary bike. But through you I discovered that I actually really enjoy body weight exercise and being mindful while training, feeling myself get stronger over time and learn new skills. It’s so true that the best exercise is the one you’ll do consistently and enjoy doing, and I’ve been doing calisthenics with your videos for almost 10 months now! Had to rest for a couple weeks over Christmas when I got Covid and I truly missed working out! Slowly easing back into it now 😀 I’ve lost about 25 lbs slowly the past year and I know it’s working better this time because of the muscle I’m gaining from calisthenics- I’d never done any strength training ever so it’s helped a lot!

    I struggled with my weight for a long time, trying different diets and exercises but nothing seemed to work. I felt self-conscious and unhappy with my appearance. I finally decided to make a change and found a weight loss program that was tailored to my needs. With determination and consistency, I lost the weight and felt happier and healthier than ever before.

    Strength training is helpful because as we lose weight, we lose muscle mass as well. If you don‘t have a lot of muscle mass to begin with, you might become skinny fat. I used to be there. Feeling super weak was the consequence. Only when I started strength training, I actually felt good in my body and therefore more confident.

    I just love your videos, the way you are, just that ! What works the best for me was cutting out ALL unatural food such as processed foods, processed and added sugar. I eat what comes from the earth. Not vegan or vegetarian but wholefood and local and that changed EVERYTHING for me. I run two or three times a week but it varies and sometimes I just don't want to work out but I do it at least two-three times a week. And yes nutrition changes the game !

    I really needed to hear the beginning about routines. I can not stick to a routine to save my life. I struggle with this in all aspects of my life, but soooo much so with exercise routines. My husband has a strict regimen (he’s good with that in all he does😅) and I see him and his progress and get deflated so easily. This time, I’m not doing this to myself.. lol. Yesterday I had a big time rest day, today I’m forcing myself to move and doing what feels good today, tomorrow, we will see what it brings… lol. I just feel better knowing I’m not alone. Thank you! I love your videos and the info you share from your experiences.❤

    They say you lose weight in the kitchen. I lost a lot of weight years ago by going to the gym for at least 3 hours a day and eating extremely low portioned low calorie foods. The moment I couldn’t sustain working out 3 hours a day and eating very low calories I gained all my weight back and more. once i started to eat food i could sustain and moderately work out, my weight came off but slowly which was ok. i lost 60 pounds over 6 years, I have a way to go but sustainability is key!

    I don't know if this would help anyone else (or maybe I'm just weird), but after getting sick and drinking a lot more tea than my usual I found myself easily consuming warm/hot water even after getting better. Finding something that is comforting to consume even if there is no flavor has encouraged me to go from maybe 2 cups of water each day to 2L minimum without much effort.

    Extremely informative video. I've been on my weight loss journey for the last 1,5 years, and although the first 6 months came easy to me and I was able to lose 20 kilos in that period of time, the last year has been a real struggle to me. You helped me realise what makes me struggle so much - it's being results-oriented. I've been putting too much pressure on seeing the results which not only stresses me out but also discourages me from continuing when I don't see any weight changes (happened to me recently when my weight stayed the same for two weeks which made me feel like giving up and I ended up going well over my calorie limit for almost a week). Meanwhile it's habits-orientation what helped me to keep going and lose 20 kilos in the first 6 months. My attitude was much more easy-going and I was thinking to myself that it doesn't matter if I lose weight or not, I just need to eat the right foods in order to stop gaining weight, and if I do lose some weight, it will only be a bonus. I need to bring this mindset back to my life (I'd like to lose at least 20 kilos more). ;) Thanks a ton!!

    Hi .) I love your channel and find your advice really helpful, I have a question regarding exercise though. You keep mentioning in your videos, that one doesn't need to do any exercise to lose weight and I get your point that you do not need it in order to be in a caloric deficit. I've heard from different sources however, that building muscle helps burn fat more effectively and if you only eat in a caloric deficit without any exercising, you will gain your weight back more easily. They say, that if you replace fat with muscle + eat in a caloric deficit, you will be able to maintain your new weight and will burn more calories. What's your opinion on this? Thanks!

    • @lucylismore
      @lucylismore  Год назад +2

      Hey Annemarie thanks for your question. In essence yes you are absolutely correct. Muscle mass require your body to use more energy than fat mass therefore if you increase your muscle mass your total daily energy expenditure increases. For that reason it helps with fat loss (remembering that building muscle takes a long time so long term thinking) by increasing your TDEE, therefore making the deficit bigger but more importantly when you move to maintenance your TDEE and therefore calories will be higher if you have more muscle mass. There are also lots of other benefits to having more muscle mass so is always a great goal to work on! Hope that helps :D xx

    So may be those people that seem to not gain weight no matter what they eat just do more of this unconscious movement?
