I played these videos for my mother as she was advancing into her Alzheimer’s disease. I had placed a monitor over her bed as she had forgotten how to walk and had become bed fast. My mother was an amazing cook in her day. Eventually she couldn’t form words but I could tell by her expressions and noises that she made that she knew exactly what was going on in these videos. Later I would bring her bites of our favorite comfort foods that ironically she had taught me how to cook. I hand fed my mother every bite that she had for 5 1/2 years. She didn’t know who I was but she remembered that food. I miss you momma.

I'm having a difficult time imagining tuna in a tomato based sauce, never mind combined with mashed potatoes. I would probably like it if I tried it, but I don't think I would ever make it myself. It's not a recipe I would consider quick to prepare!
I’m thinking the same thing … therefore I would substitute it with Canned Red Salmon… we definitely used to do this recipe, but the Salmon went over rice… when I do salmon croquettes I always serve with mashed potatoes ~❤
Looks good. The boiling of potatoes reminded me of my mother and grandmother (Dutch) making potatoes and Kale, then topped with Rook worst. Another simple recipe. I will try this one. Thanks

My Mum would make us ‘fish & potato pie’ when we was kids and it was mash with tuna stirred through and cheese on top. Served with baked beans. A delicious cheap meal
A pro tip, the smaller you cut the potato's the faster they cook and also, they take less effort to mash as they are small. I use a potato ricer now and that gives an excellent result, also I cannot remember if you used milk and butter in this, if you didn't, I would advise people to try that as it will give a dreamy taste.
@@YourEveryPicture7 The only reason why they go hard for, is because you have cooked them for too long. Your comment does not make any sense to be honest. You cut them small, they cook faster, you are cooking them for too long, hence going hard. Do the maths it is not rocket science, it is boiling potato's the smaller they are, the less you have to cook them, the larger the more you have to cook them, as soon as your fork can go through them, then take them off the stove, they will still cook until you remove them from the heat or the heated pan, even out of the pan they will still cook unless you use butter or milk to cool them down.

Hello, I'm watching from the Philippines. I love the way you prepare and cook. The music you used are all so soothing and relaxing. This video is so warm like I'm just beside you. Thank you so much for sharing. Love your dress too.
You can also do this with lasagne. I use tuna fish in place of mince. So I would cook the tuna up like you would cook mince spaghetti sauce. Then layer the bottom of the lasagne dish first with a bit of tuna sauce, then lasagne sheet, then tuna fish sauce, white sauce, a layer of lasagne sheet and continue till I have put the last tuna sauce on top of the last lasagne sheet and spread the last bit of white sauce on top of the tuna sauce, then put a mixture of grated cheddar cheese and parmesan on top of the white sauce and bake in the middle of the oven on 180 degrees Celsius till the lasagne sheets are cooked through +/- 30 - 45 minutes (when you prick with a point of a knife and it goes through the lasagne sheet easy) and the top of the cheese layer is lovely and golden brown. Take out of oven let rest for 10 minutes before serving and I make a green salad with olive oil, olives, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. To serve a long side. You could choose to have garlic bread as well. Hope you try it.
Reminds me of my favourite comfort food. I always called it sludge. Mashed potatoes with tinned salmon mixed through, some ketchup mixed in to make it a salmon pink and peas. It looks like a big pink blob of mush and it's so basic and simple but it tastes amazing. I add cauliflower to the mash now and tend to have carrots on the side. My father would make it with corned beef and hp sauce aswell for his own version
@@julietaferrario4934 British lol. It's not a normal thing here though I don't think. People tend to think I'm odd for it but my grandad used to make it, my sister made it for me as a child and I make it for my kids now. It's just so easy to make and easy to eat lol and really comforting and filling. My parents and family are Welsh but I was born and raised in England.
Great 👍. I've made tuna fish 'pie' for years. Though I mix tuna, diced onion, sweetcorn, peppers and peas with some tomato paste, mayo & seasoning, then I put in a dish, cover with mash (usually left over from the day before because I make extra on purpose) put sliced tomatoes on top and then put cheese on top. I baked in the oven.....a tasty quick meal. Will have to try layering like you did with yours. Shows that we don't have to spend a fortune to make a tasty meal. Sometimes, I'll put carrot & swede in with the potatoes or cauliflower/cabbage.......a way of having extra vegetables
I could almost smell the fish and onion cooking, mmmm this is so easy but looks so tasty. Will try it out fir a lunch tomorrow. Thanks for your relaxing videos without someone banging on and loud music.♥️👍🏴
This looked so easy and yummy that I made a widower version for dinner. Albeit I used what I had on hand, i.e. red onion, muenster cheese, some spaghetti sauce. I did the spuds in an instant pot. I don't peel spuds so I used a food process to 'mash' the potatoes and grate the cheese since I don't have either a masher or a cheese grater. Verdict...excellent.
My daughter still loves the tuna caserole I learned in the 80s. Canned tuna, noodles, a bechamel cream sauce (without the nutmeg) or (cream of mushroom soup). Sometimes I add English Peas and some sour cream. Still just simply the best.
@@orange300-ct8fc I learned this recipe except with Campbell's cream of celery soup instead of mushroom. Two cans tuna, two cans of soup, and one package of egg noodles. Cook the noodles, drain the tuna, and mix the tuna into the undiluted soup before mixing it in the noodles to better manage the degree of chunkiness you desire. pour into a sprayed or otherwise greased 9 x 13 pan and cook at 350 for...I can't remember. 45 minutes ought to be about right. In this particular dish the fishiness turns into a rich taste that I like, so I use chunk light tuna. If you want less fishiness, use solid white albacore. Rinsing it will remove even more fishiness and will remove a lot of the salt from the brine it's packed in. There is enough salt in the soup and the noodles (if you seasoned the water the way you should) that you don't need to replace what you've washed off. Solid white albacore is a bit more expensive than chunk light but probably won't break you. I've done it with frozen peas before but I never added any sour cream. I bet a big dallop of that mixed in would be wonderful. You can top it with crushed crinkled potato chips after cooking if you're feeling nostalgic.

You calling it Sludge…… love it 😊
Food doesn’t always have to look fantastic, to taste good.

Thank you. Beautifully made with beautiful young voices in the background. Please do this again!
I could almost smell the fish and onion cooking, mmmm this is so easy but looks so tasty. Will try it out fir a lunch tomorrow. Thanks for your relaxing videos without someone banging on and loud music.♥️👍🏴
I made this recipe tonight and it was DELICIOUS! 😋
Очень понравилось ваше блюдо 😋😋😋👍👍👍💗🌷 Супер 👍
This looked so easy and yummy that I made a widower version for dinner. Albeit I used what I had on hand, i.e. red onion, muenster cheese, some spaghetti sauce. I did the spuds in an instant pot. I don't peel spuds so I used a food process to 'mash' the potatoes and grate the cheese since I don't have either a masher or a cheese grater. Verdict...excellent.
Yes, looked so good! I always peel them....but i probably need to expand my palate and try with the peels on.
Eu acrescentaria azeitonas e um pouco de pimentão ao molho do atum.
The music is so soothing. The food looks delicious!
Looks delicious I’ll try 😋😋

I just cooked this for my family and it was delicious! Thank you 🙏🏼❤️
This is for those who can't cook . Congratulations
Do you drain the water/ oil from the canned tuna before adding to the pan of onions?
Nicely done and looks delicious. I only dislike the title though. Almost did skip the video because of it.
I'm definitely trying this. The kid noises in the background are adorable. Reminds me of when my kids where young. Thank you👍

Großartig! 👍🏻🤤😋
