You're absolutely right, it's MUCH BETTER than Waterloo.
It's crazy, it's party!
I'd really love seeing your thoughts on some of the other performances! I know it's a lot, so maybe start with an overview of all songs and then pick the ones you had the most fun with. Of course only if you want.
It's crazy It's party 🎉🎉🎉🎉
This boy 🥰 everyone loves him, like crazy. Never heard an audience chant someone's name during the live show, even when he wasn't performing.
true, we love him
I dont.. he was a clown on stage..nothing else unfortunately🤘
Best SONG won .. but id glady give him 1 st place in the costumecompetition 👍
@@brandnewrock8375 I think you missed out then. The whole point was to be fun, to get people excited. Who the fuck got excited by budget Wolverine with her claws?
@@brokenguardianangel8575 I did.. i love good music…you clearly dont appreciate good music when you hear it.. but maybe you more into theatre than music.. i dont know🤘
Take care 👍
@@brandnewrock8375 I mean... Eurovision isn't about chart music, at all, but think what you want. If you came into it looking for the same clone songs you find in the Top 40, normally, that's your issue.
The phenomenon that is Käärijä’s Cha Cha Cha performance encapsulates the essence of Eurovision - a bit kooky and irreverent, a bit left field, a lot of wtf is going on and a dose of idgaf, plenty of camp but most of all a heap full of FUN.
Also, it's actually a GOOD SONG!
And last time in 2006 Lordi - Hard Rock Hallelujah.... Finland Winning... add some jurys sweden by. Eurovision song (not singing) contest.
@@nervanderithat's such a great song
He was the public's favorites, sadly it wasn't enough. Never seen or heard the public go like this before, people all over Europe sang in Finnish, they have practice for weeks to sing along. He is a rap artist and known as the shirtless rampage, that's the idea behind his bolero, he usually performs without a shirt.
The bolero was made for official video (since it has wrestling theme and he is wrestling himself) and they had made him differnt jacket for live performance (awsome black leather bolero jacket that he did wear is some ESC interview) but because the green "muscle" one became iconic with the music video, he kept it in live as well.
Still the best song won 🤘🤘🤘

But still… he didnt win.. im sorry for that, but this IS a MUSIC show.. not best costumeshow !! 🤘

He was my favorite this year, even though he did not win. He conquered many hearts across Europe 💚💚💚
This lunatic song has grown on me... And I usually despise Eurovision.. But Finland is always trustworthy! 🤘🇫🇮
(I'm Swedish btw.. 😁)
He should have won and Lord Of The Lost should not be last. But overall it was an entertainning evening.
That was exactly what you would expect from Finland. Crazy and unpredictable. They don't take themselves too seriously.
As a Finn, I'm so proud of him, to us in Finland he's the real winner 😍
im finn, and real winner is loreen, why, coz she get more points,käärijä should win,but he didnt,so hes not real winner
@@Fincoolman68 Loreen maybe YOUR ”real winner” but she sure ain’t mine😂🎉

Ofc you think so, have you ever won Eurovision ? No , sweden did it, 7 times, speaks for itself ;)
For me(German) and for the majority of the voting public too
They were robbed of victory! I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG
If you want a musiccontest to be a costumeshow yes.. he was robbed .. i agree with you !
If you want this to stay a music contest.. as its meant to be in the first place.. best song won without a doubt clearly !
@@brandnewrock8375 it is songcontest not singing contest. Show was somewhat decent from loreen and pretty generic for sure. She only holds good singing voice.

We were in the Eurovision village in Liverpool and when this came on the crowd went crazy, loved it.
Loreen is on 2nd place on uk single list and not Finland's crap song hehe. If it was so good wouldn't it be up there ?
@@fredrikmejhammar5868 How surprising that a pop song in english language is on number 2 in UK charts, especially when it won a competition in UK. I find it more surprising that a song sung in finnish language is at number 6 there though it is not a pop song (most of the songs in these charts are pop songs) and most people do not undersztand the language

@@fredrikmejhammar5868 swedish troll, go back to your crime-ridden shithole of a country would ya?
What do you mean musically it's no Wateloo lol? Yeah, it's not a pop song but it succesfully blends rap, metal, techno and pop with clever lyrics. I think it's a great composition. It's currently the 9th most streamed song on Spotify in the whole world btw and on it's way to become a legendary Eurovision act.
As it should
No way you just got tilted by the waterloo comment. It is no waterloo. It is musically objectively worse. It can be a fun and engaging song without being the most perfectly composed theme. Learn to accept criticism
@@hugopassos9015 that's absolutely a silly comment. Computer composed music has made any music performed by humans obsolete. Yours is just an elitist take. Music isn't just made for other musicians/experts. Popular music much more so. I've seen excellent instrumentalists playing crap music, no matter how technically proficient they are.
Loreen has 3 times more Spotify streams, how on earth this will be "legendary" i dont get it. Its crazy and goofy song, nothing else
@@nenadmkd that post from 2 days ago
”Energy has many forms”. And Käärijä is one of them. 😍
Real winner of the competition!
True winner.
As you see, a typical introvert, unsocial Finn :p
I wanted obviously Norway to win, as I am from Norway, but this was insane, catchy. It doesn't matter if you know the language or not, everyone just went crazy.
Sorry Sweden, Loreen is good and talented, but Finland should have won.
Norway was also good and she seems really sweet! I'd have loved Finland and Norway to capture 1st and 2nd
based on what he should have won. How is his song better than Loreen's? Just because you could chant CHA CHA CHA and that makes him a winner?
nah lmao, this song is unique and catchy but it does not have the winner qualities. Absolutely ridiculously overrated by the televote.
Loreen, just another boring popsong.

I didn't expect this either during the national selection introduction (UMK) but after I heard this song, I knew immediatelly that this is it! 🥰
one of the best performances i've ever seen on eurovision
Definitely fun 🤣🤣🤣Loved it
This guy, he just make u feel fun and good.
He was robbed at Eurovision. Everyone in the uk thinks so. My favourite of the night. That, Swedish act was rubbish.
Just listen to that crowd \m/
Love this he was the best he shuld be the winner💚💚💚💚💚
Käärijä made whole Europe smile which is difficult these times
Moral winner❤
It's crazy! It's party! It's cha cha cha!
This is the Eurovision Songcontest at its best. Singing in your own language, having fun and making a nice show with your song. It does'nt have to be the best song, there were a lot of songs better than the Finnish one. But they made everybody feel happy! 😊
❤
My winner forever 💚💚💚🇫🇮
ABBA definitely weren't in the first Eurovision. They did win in 1974 so next year will be the 50th anniversary. The first Eurovision was actually held in 1956. This should have been the winner and will always be the people's winner of 2023.
“ Its crazy its Party 🖤💚
That Stadium is made of concrete and still it was wibrating when audience was dancing and singing
Thanks for your reaction and greetings from Finland ❤👏
Haha, I can tell you were completely dumbfounded in the end 😅. Playing the song several times over several days is what I suggest. It's a simple song, but also an experience that keeps on giving. You'll see, so don't give up.
Regarding what Piers Morgan said, I shall simply quote Professor Elemental from his song "I'm British":
"Well, at this point I'd just like to take a moment to apologise on behalf of Britain for all the things that we've brought to the world
Simon Cowell, for example, and eh, Jim Davidson. Fox hunting. Black pudding. Racism
But most of all, we're all terribly, terribly sorry about Piers Morgan"
If not seen yet look at Subwoolfer - Give That Wolf a Banana. I recommend the national final performance. Just as fun but more music in it.
I'm in Mexico and I voted for him (as part of the international vote). Wish he had won. Cheers!
Waterloo was NOT the winner of the first Eurovision.
Audience going crazy! That's the real winner right there! Can't remember Loreen at all.
👈🟢🟢😎🟢🟢👉
hahaha, for me this is an event but definitely not a fair competition.
Now you need to listen to the Lord of the Lost cover…awesome!
Eurovision isn’t a thing in the USA. Tbh I didn’t know they still did it. I only remember seeing “Waterloo.” He reminds me of the Berserker guy from “Clerks.” This is so much fun! This could be the real reason Finland was admitted into NATO.
I’ve lived in South Carolina. Even Europe isn’t a thing in the USA😂…
Kaarija was a favourite to win alongside Loreen for Sweden and ultimately Sweden won.
The voting in 00/early 10s was said to be largely televote although I think there has always been a jury but because of the amount of comedy/joke acts that the public would vote for (dancing grannies in 2012 came 2nd), the jury vote was brought in, in a much more equal 50/50 way to balance that out giving more serious countries a chance.
But as you can imagine both have their own problems. The juries have been accused of favouritism and voting on the "full package" which has actually shut out a lot of critically sound songs and a lot of people don't realise that the jury show is separate from the grand final - the grand final is for the public vote, the jury show being held the night before which the public don't see. So if you give a bad performance on Jury night (as was accused of Norway) that can really take down your score. If you give a good performance (as Sweden were said to have, despite Loreen's grand final performance being her weakest performance imo) that can help a lot. The televote especially is accused of shady, political voting (voting for neighbouring countries as was popular this year).
The accumulation of points from both decide the winner. For example, last year Ukraine was 4th in Jury vote but 1st in public vote so won the show. Ukraine 2016 and Netherlands 2019 are examples of performances which won neither the jury nor public vote but still won the show.
Certainly both voting systems could use reform - but I believe both have a place. Imo Kaarija despite being a fan favourite, I can imagine was not a jury favourite (which tbh countries have to anticipate before they enter or risk disappointment). Loreen despite having a similar performance/ song as 2012 (she, as many artists do have a consistent sound) was 1st in Jury vote, 2nd in public vote so won the show.
Quite a few countries have been accused of plagiarism too (Loreen, Kaarija, Blanka from Poland this year; past winners such as Emmelie de Forest, Mans Zermerlow, Netta etc.) but I think that is subjective and strategic play from bitter rivals.
Would love to see Kaarija come back to the show - Loreen did from 2012 making her 1st woman to win it twice; other popular winners such as Alexander Rybak and Lena (among others) certainly proved a name alone doesn't guarantee a win and non winners who have performed 2-4 times in the competition have seen little success from their "familiarity". Either way I think he has cemented a place in Eurovision history.
Kaarija should stay far away from the competition in the future.
@@apeflight5553 why? Because he came in 2nd? Jesus you people are sour losers
Very good allround explanation of the voting system, its pros, and cons 👍
Great fun Finland. You have watched some fun contestants, Finland and Portugal. Maybe you could check out the rest of the top 4, Sweden, Israel and Italy for something different. Italy ❤️
Abba was far from the first winner in Eurovision. It started in 1956, ABBA won in 1974.
Mike's memory is slipping 🤣
💚🔥🕺🔥🔥💚💚💚💚💃🎉
Unfortunately, real winner.
It's fun, and I heartily recommend Lord of the Lost's cover.
Is it a contest if the Jury beforehand decided that Sweden wins. Just because ABBA's 50 anniversary. I like Loreen but this year Finland is the winner.
And I also like ABBA
Europan verison of gangnam style In a foreign language but mega catchy
My favourite!
I looked up the words and the song starts with him telling us who long his work week has been and he's in desperate need of fun, then he tells us about drinking a lot of stuff so that he gets uninhibited enough to dance the weekend away. This is very Finnish and I like it it fits with the song and being a techno club dancing style of song entirely!
It also has the deeper meaning of questioning why people are so inhibited and don't dare and dance, and why they would need alcohol in order to feel free (Käärijä doesn't judge anyone who does need a pina colada in order to dance, but has explained it this way). The rather unflattering lyrics about being drunk paint a rather sad picture of the situation, although the person is past caring how he looks on the dance floor (which should be possible without alcohol).
@@tanjanikola9489 Cool! But I get feeling self conscious about it all but the important part is to dance the tired week away :)
@@charlotteinnocent8752 I don't need much encouragement (and alcohol is not required, or even wanted). Can't wait to see Käärijä on a gig, as the audience always goes crazy and has so much fun! Need some of that vibe! 😂
Please do Laleh Live tomorrow or Some die young
Welcome to Finland ❤🎉
Well in the final to ESC 2023 I hoped Norway or Finland should win not Sweden even though I don't hate Swedish peoples, when I have some friends from Sweden here in my dear hometown, it is not many years ago Sweden won the ESC final with the song Heroes by Måns Zelmerlöw in 2015. Finland won for the very first time in ESC with the song Hard Rock Hallelujah by Lordi in 2006 and before that Sweden have won the ESC final many times than Finland and Norway of course. It is time other countries who have not won the ESC final yet to get that chance. Not, only Norway, Sweden, Denmark etc, but they who have not been lucky to win for their country. See how many times Portugal tried to win the ESC final, when Salvador Sobral from Portugal won the ESC final in 2017 and Portugal won the ESC 2017 for the first time after participate in ESC final since 1964 to 2015 without winning and then in 2017 the country won the ESC final by Salvador Sobral with his song Amar pelos dois
: "To Love for the Both of Us")
*Okay, I'm a huge fan of Finnish music, especially Rock & Metal, and it's no wonder, I choose last year's Finland song "Jezebel" by THE RASMUS and the 2006 ESC final winner song "Hard Rock Hallelujah" by LORDI over this one here.* 🔥🔥🔥😈🔥🔥🔥🎵🎸🥁🎸🎵💿🎵
Greetings from Estonia 🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪🇪. From Finland's neighbor 🇫🇮

1 of the 2 guys are even Dutch!
You should definitely listen to the cover by Lord Of The Lost. I like their cover of Cha Cha Cha better. The voice of Chris Harms and the Finnish language fit together perfectly. For me it's the best cover ever. Chris gives the song a heavier vibe that I missed in the original by Käärija.
Cha Cha Cha 🔥 The Best!
its crazy its party xxx
It was funny and weird and that's why the jury didn't place it higher because they have categories to follow like any other judge, people cannot get over that we have a jury and televotes because Finland did well in televotes people wants him to win when Loreen was a more allround and higher production value overall she took the win.
