A large tape dispenser can double as a great pattern weight! I also like masking tape to label fabrics after they’ve been cut - both the name/number of the pattern piece and if it’s the right/wrong side.
I have post-its on the wall noting my sewing machine and overlocker settings for different fabrics. Also, large safety pins to pierce and keep together traced/pdf patterns, and AND cheap shower curtain hooks on which to hang those safety-pinned patterns 😅
I especially love making pressing jigs for curved seams using file folders, and I didn't even think of using post it notes as hump jumpers. Thank you so much, Margaret!
I store PDF patterns in 2 or 3 inch binders in side loading sheet protectors, which keep small bits (like placket guides) from slipping out, then I can binder clip the sheet protector and hang with fabric and if I print the instructions (because how else can you make notes with a pen/pencil or stick on a post-it) that can usually just slip in the sheet protector. Also, card stock for ironing guides and printing off patterns for bags or bras where the pattern pieces can be fiddly.
Hi Diana! I usually wait until the glue is dry before I sew through it. It dries really fast, so there's not much waiting. I've never had an issue with it leaving my needle sticky.

Do you use office supplies when you sew clothes? What's your favorite and how do you use it? ✂

Yes! Love a weighted tape dispenser doubling as a pattern weight. Thank you, Em!

Post it notes are good hump jumpers and seam gauges. File folder can also be used to make miter and hem or fold templates that can be ironed.

I love that you keep the patterns together with the fabric. Smart!

Not necessarily an office supply, but I use jumbo sized ziploc bags for cut patterns and works in progress.

So … question, the glue doesn’t get your needle gummy?

Great great tips! I should use glue sticks more

I use Pilot Frixion eraseable pens to mark fabric. It washes out. This is not original to me; I read about it somewhere and it really works!
