Hold onto your shopping carts, folks, because this video is taking the grocery budget game to the extreme with a playful challenge that proves saving money can be a delicious adventure!
We have a go grocery outlet and an auction house store that has deals that are unbelievable! I always check those places first before I go to the major grocery store. I’m not sure if everyone has a place like this to shop but I feel super lucky tj have these places available to go to because they are so cheap. Sometimes you have to check the best by dates but a lot of time I will freeze what’s getting ready to expire. It’s a life saver and I save so much money shopping at places like this! Checking sales papers is such a great idea because you can grab fresh food for cheap! I always have to go to 2-3 stores to do my shopping to try to save as much as possible. I usually have to go without my husband because he is not as patient as I am 😅 it’s a lot of work to save money! It’s a whole days work for sure!
Some great ideas and I love the checklist! I will definitely put it to use. When I was at my local grocery store, I asked the person stocking the meat shelves what day of the week did they mark down the meat items. He said their delivery for meats was on Tuesday for chicken & fish and Thursday for beef. Meat was marked down the day before the delivery in order to empty the shelves for the fresh products. They remove any meat that has not sold by the listed sell/freeze date. When I need to stock up, I know what days to head to the store. So talk with your stores to find out their price reduction dates on their meats, breads, dairy and produce!
Game changer for our household was me learning to make homemade mayo and margarine. Super healthy and probably saving about 10 dollars a month just with those changes.
@@dmmrad54 I love Clearwater. I bet you, like me, are limited to grocery stores, only Publix here. They make more money off taxing hotels and restaurants. SMH
@@debgordon6542 yes I usually shop at Aldi and sometimes Walmart. We have 2 Aldi's and 2 Walmarts in my area. There are also about 4 Publix stores. I like Publix, but their prices are so high.
Awww… I want to buy Julian all the watermelon! My little boys (15 year old twins) like ground flax seed on their apple sauce 🫨; always have. Go figure! 😊 Great video as always. Thank you for sharing.
I love all your ideas Maria! Thank you for sharing. Do you know anyone that has a Costco membership? You can get a variety case of Spindrift water for a fair price. I haven't been there lately, but it might be something to keep in mind.
You need to do a makeup video. You look flawless. We wanna save money on all stuff!! I never know what products to buy. Which one me are worth the price and the cheaper ones that work great? Also, what about moisturizers, hair products, cleaners for home and face/body. I always go over budget. Candles garbage bags, storage bags? Some don’t zip very well. I would love to see how to save money on lots of things. Also, what to not go cheap on.
Aw thanks Stephanie! I have used the same products for years, I don’t wear a lot of makeup and I don’t wear it everyday so it lasts a while. The products aren’t the cheapest but they are tried and true. I use Tarte cc cream, blush and eyeshadow. I wear urban decay 24/7 waterproof eye liner, and maybeline Sky High mascara. That’s it 😬 I probably only have to buy it once a year, if that. For garbage I recommend the simple human garbage can and bags…they are also not cheap but don’t rip and don’t make you lose your mind when changing a very full bag 😂 any ziplock is fine with me! I’ll think more about adding these tips in as I go!
I bet the kids would love egg bites in mini muffin tins…kids seem to love anything small they can pick up. Have you ever tried making pancakes on a stick?
It’s usually about $50 a week for us, but our local grocery store is extra expensive. I try to make it into the bigger town nearest us (40+ miles away) about 1 or 2 times a month. Usually pick up pantry staples and anything I can freeze there to save costs.
@@MealsWithMariathat would be great! I usually make enough for us both and 1 left over each for, say lunch tomorrow or a fend for yourself day😉 where neither of us feel like cooking or one of us is busy
I have never tried to make cheese myself, but I understand that ricotta is not difficult to make. It could potentially be cheaper to make it yourself. I watched a video and it did not look too difficult. Instead of using croutons if they are expensive, could you use toast chopped into small pieces? If it was cheaper? Thank you for the video!
That's how i cook for myself. I make meals that last 2 to 3 days. Great video.

I think as the economy changes we will see more discount markets… I hope so!
Yes Julian!! Always go for the middle piece 😂 love it!!
Great story about how your checklist came about!
Thank you 😘
Don't forget the day-old bread stores! You can usually find great bargains on breads and snacks. You can also freeze the bread to make it last longer.
Wow $4.29 Rotisserie Chicken great! I'm in suburb of Detroit & pay at Meijer or Walmart $6.99.
I'm in Orlando (it's tourist season) and paid $8.99 on sale for a small one :-(
@@debgordon6542 I live in Clearwater ì noticed the price hike also.

I recognized the MB circular on your site. I'm so happy to find your channel. :)
😊😮yummy and delicious 😋 😍
If I don't buy items on sale, on clearance, or with a coupon, I feel like I'm getting ripped off.
Me too! Never pay full price. I love reviewing my receipt afterwards too!
Gotta check those savings! I totally agree!!!
@@Ashleyjohnson397 OMGosh, me too! It's my favorite past time, then I brag to my daughter lol
It was good to see your process. Do you then use the data in the spreadsheet to do a monthly or annual analysis?
As always, your food looks appetizing and I could definitely sell my partner on most of these recipes. Thanks Maria!
Perfect!!! So glad you like them!!

Great advice! And your meals look great. Those enchiladas are magazine worthy!
You know they have those same brand of raviolis at dollar tree an there the same size bag. The beverages look like there really good by the way.

You look amazing. I work on spreadsheets all day. Grocery spreadsheet? A must.
Rotisserie chickens are the bomb. I buy 4 at a time and can up a ton of broth and freeze the chicken in portions to use throughout the month.
Wow awesome video thanks ❤️❤️❤️
