I Loooveee this movie. I enjoyed this movie story so realistic and based from Chinese norms for centuries. After I watch I felt I received a seminar about business mgmt. on a family enterprise. On top of it all, a new perspective to establish nicer relationship of siblings from multiple wives. That father could have intentionally treated them all equally tough, drove them to challenge him in unison and let each siblings DNA do the rest. I think a parent on a late stage of life has a lot to worry if anyone of his children is a stranger or not in harmony/disarray, even worst seeing them in chaos over inheritances.
This movie is like how the old 80s great movies were. Great Life Lessons on the big screen. its also doubly fun for me because i know all the languages spoken.
This was like a youtube special with Anna Akana headlining a movie and Pomplamoose singing the end credits, so very cool! So my parents came from mainland China and their early teens were spent dodging the Japanese during WWII and they came out unscathed and came to the U.S. (fun fact my Dad was in the army stationed in Germany the same time Elvis was there and although he never met him, he saw the impact he had even in a foreign country). My dad worked hard in my youth and I never saw him that much even though we were in the same house. I didn't resent it until later in my adult life and I never appreciated his sacrifice until later in my adult life. He never cheated on my mom, never gambled, never drank and had his three sons financially setup for college. I really appreciated the nuance of the movie setting up the father as a flawed character at odds with his children. The parental sacrifice and their understanding if their children want to follow a different path is so relevant. Thanks Dad, you're the best!

Not sure if it’s been already mentioned, but the dad, actor Richard Ng, passed away in April this year🙏. I just watched the movie for the first time as it came up free here on RUclips. It was actually enjoyable 😊.
This is such an awesome movie teaching how to teach young adult responsibility and not take things for granted, but especially treating the employees that work for companies respect and how hard it is to live on a low budget and unable to be with families. Mr.ng such a good actor and so much realism.
This is a very nice story. There may not be a perfect parent, but they always do the hard work for their children. We don't have to blame our parents for their flaws because we are the one responsible for our choice in life.
AS A FATHER, I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE, and as a father I do understand that we DAD'S do work hard for our children, but I also did sacrifice to be at every event possible that my children were involved in, and owning a business makes it even harder at times, but I knew beforehand, that to be a good father, you have to be there for your children physically, as their birthdays when young nean something to them, and let us say at 10 years old only happens once in their lifetime, as well as all the other birthdays.
Childcare, homecare that's one of my dreams for Filipinos who are working too hard. Once upon a time leaving my daughter while I'm working was one of my nightmares. Now she's 22 yr. old and she's a great daughter. Also I saw many ppl who can work but can never leave their old parents.
I started to see this movie & though that I was not going to like it, but after seeing the whole movie....I love, love, love, love this movie 🎦!!!! This is a great movie showing that the Ritch girl can grow up to become a wonderful woman in her own life, with a little help from her father!!! Anna akana was so awesome for this movie!!!I would love to see her in more movies 🎥!!!
This made me cry because it hit so close to home. I'm from an Indian family so not everything relates but the discussion that Carol had with her dad about taking responsibility and being a daughter before being his employee/investment hit too close to home. I wish my parents would have at least told me what I'm signing up for and give me the option to leave and support myself if I choose. Most Asian parents don't give their children this choice and expect the world out of their kids. It's simply too much pressure sometimes.
Quit complaining. Where would you be without your parents? Snorting Fentanyl or knocked up and living on welfare. Who paid for college tuition, food, rent. Go to India and see how life is. Not everyone lives like the Ambani kids.

Some countries have things easier than others but don't see it until watching this movie and I do love the relationship between the two in the end and how he just wanted the best for her but she couldn't see it until her eyes were really opened . Great movie to watch xo ❤
This is going to be my favorite movie forever
I am Filipino, but I can connect with numerous Asian traditions that are imposed on everyone, even those who may not appreciate them. The Asian wisdom portrayed in this movie resonates with me also.
Surprisingly spot on with so many things that I experienced/witnessed while a grad student in Taiwan and working at a factory that yes, made toys for a huge not-to-be-named company. Very well done. Thank you!
This movie is really amazing and the fact that it shows the problem China is facing and some other Asian countries the movie is really eye opening
OMG!!!!! It's obviously one of the best movies I have ever seen till now. I still can't believe that I got to watch such a wonderful movie on You Tube , and that is at free of cost.
Oh my! I love this movie! A combi of Chinese, Filipino and American actors. 💜🤗
What a wonderful film! I wasn't expecting that! Emily Ting has written a great script. This film has warmed my heart. I wish there was a second one.
The story is so nice and the characters are very good in acting even my kababayan's😍from the Philippines..
What a lovely movie! I have lived in China and teach English online. I really enjoyed it!

@@ChristianSoldier71 Yes , I know Jesus is coming anytime for we are living in these last terrible days. Recent earthquakes in Turkey, Syria n New Zealand is a proof of this. Nothing is permanent. This world is not my home. The earth these days is hot, humid n badly polluted with increase in the Global warming. The Future is very difficult to live on earth n there is increasing enmities between many countries against each other. I am waiting for the Lord n watching Watchman Adam in You Tube.

@@nancydsouza1094 AMEN and TY!!
Let go some few tears every now and then throughout the movie. What a wonderful movie!❤️
Good movie. Happy to see Filipinos are included in this film. Bravo! 😊
I REALLY LOVE THIS MOVIE.THERES SO MUCH TO LEARN FROM IT.THANK YOU SO MUCH
This was so relatable ... many filipinos sacrifice leaving their family to look for work abroad....
This is my 1st time seeing this movie it just happened to pop up on my feed and I'm glad I took a chance.
What a beautifully done movie great cast
Literally same thing happened to me today. Loved it.

Me too, but it's surprisingly good movie 🤩
Loved it. I usually watch historical Chinese dramas or rom-coms. But this one was really good. Highly recommend
Wow! its really a good movie that full of lesson in life, its realistic about family issues, its really difficult to handle a family business with a blood relate that the truth. the actors are so good... Thumbs up!
I adored this movie, Sasha has really an amazing heart ! For sure she’ll become an excellent professional.
Sasha doesn't know this but she's just like her dad, I love her she's creative and she ventures out of her comfort
Not sure if it’s been already mentioned, but the dad, actor Richard Ng, passed away in April this year🙏. I just watched the movie for the first time as it came up free here on RUclips. It was actually enjoyable 😊.
OMG, this movie is so amazing to be honest, it's the cutest Chinese movie I've ever seen, i hope more movies like this
can't believe i burst into tears at the end, what a touching story and full of surprises throughout. highly recommend!
This is such an awesome movie teaching how to teach young adult responsibility and not take things for granted, but especially treating the employees that work for companies respect and how hard it is to live on a low budget and unable to be with families. Mr.ng such a good actor and so much realism.
I am so happy that I watched this movie to the very end. I have learned so many great lessons which are useful. Thank you for sharing!
This is a very nice story. There may not be a perfect parent, but they always do the hard work for their children. We don't have to blame our parents for their flaws because we are the one responsible for our choice in life.
There's something very likeable about this movie. U don't know what it is but it has some niceness in there & u just keep watching & enjoying it 👍👍
AS A FATHER, I REALLY ENJOYED THIS MOVIE, and as a father I do understand that we DAD'S do work hard for our children, but I also did sacrifice to be at every event possible that my children were involved in, and owning a business makes it even harder at times, but I knew beforehand, that to be a good father, you have to be there for your children physically, as their birthdays when young nean something to them, and let us say at 10 years old only happens once in their lifetime, as well as all the other birthdays.
I do like this movie. The story is family oriented and teaches the value of hard working employees.
Wow this is awesome movie deserved numerous awards, actors are excellent genuine, including my fellow pinoy in this movie are so great
I love it and proud as asian love from the Philippines 🇵🇭 here
I love this movie.. heartfelt and very wholesome..
Life is a wholesome experience.you can't excel in one area and suck at another and call that success.the aim is to grow in all areas of life
This made me cry because it hit so close to home.
@@phoebusapollo4677 these gen z cannot live without parents support for a month also...reality hits them once they become parents
When you struggle and succeed, you will know the value of Money. Its better the kids struggle and do something for living.
This is an amazing movie and I enjoyed it I would want to see more movies like this thank you
I was not expecting much, but it is indeed a very good movie.
Great family business and positive message. No drama and ego and jealousy. Just good learning the power of caring.
😃"go back to China"! What? "Bleep you I'm an American"! 😃🤣😄That got me to watch this movie! Excellent! Thanks, Adam 😎
Same here and the way she said f*k you I am American 😅😅😅
Haha.....as asian american i said that too..this statement in movie make me giggles😂
