    TY Nice to meet this Dr. Unwin. We typically hear from her husband. He's amazing & so is she. Truly the wind beneath his wings!! We should have known! Good of her to come out & talk to us. TY for sharing your story & knowledge❤

    So helpful, to recognize these issues with food as adjacent to other addictions. I’ll be using this analogy with friends to say, please, I m sorry I can’t eat these things. I can’t control myself around those foods and they make me feel sick and out of control. Thumbs up. Will check out the Food Junkies podcast and book. Doctors Unwin both are so important. 👍

    You should never have to make excuses. Or rationalize to another person about why you do not want to eat any particular food and don't make yourself a target of being wrong or imperfect because you can't eat just one bite that is totally beside the point

    Best family keto dish to take is deviled eggs! Meat lovers pizza dish or casserole with no crust and lowest sugar tomato sauce sparingly is also a favorite.

      @@shaybee6893 still better than typical pot luck carbs! Mayo is eggs and oil and still reasonable keto.

    I know I have a carbohydrate addiction. What I don’t know is how to overcome it.

      If you are trying to lose weight I recommend The Mayo Clinic Diabetes Diet book by Donald Hensrud. This diet measures protein, fat and carb calories to help you keep your calories at 1200 until you lose the weight. It also teaches to have a serving of fruit (my favorite is a cup of cantaloupe which is only 70 calories and helps keep me feeling full) and nonstarchy vegetables with every meal. I have lost 30 pounds on this diet and have kept it off for 3 years. Also read Proteinaholic book by a bariatric surgeon named Garth Davis. All patients this surgeon has seen have tried the keto diet, but none of the patients were able to stay on the keto diet long term.

    With those cost savings you would think that every Minister of Health in the Uk would beat a path to the Unwin's door .
    No - but we had Matt Hancock ( right wing ) and now Wes Streeting ( left wing ) in there first day in office said that rhe wat to save the NHS is ' paperless digital computer systems 😨!' .

    There is no such thing as food addiction.
    If you are addicted to it, it is not food.
    Carbohydrate addiction, though, can be
    a thing.
