When I first played the game I saw the woman and also wondered who killed her. But after beating it I figured out that she was killed by the Chief Mendez, the village chief. Look at how her body is positioned and take into account his height and strength. He's the only one in close proximity who could've done that. I even figured out how he did it. He picked her up by her neck with left hand, held the pitchfork in his right hand like a spear and drove it through her head with enough force to nail her to the wall. Now as far as why she was killed, that I don't know. I just chalked it up to the madness of the game.
I believe the theory that she was trying escape from the village, she knew that she would be infected or she was infected trying to escape before the parasite fully took over 🪦

Villagers being killed for not conforming to the illuminados' vision and the monks in the pit for remaing more loyal to Salazar's father when lil napoleon took over.
Explanations: 1) She was trying to escape 2)She was against the kidnapping Ashley and planned to over throw the cult and get help for Ashley 3) The dead bodies in the cart were of the people planning on rescuing Ashley and/or getting help.
no thats no possible, all villagers are infected by las plagas and although it could be a lucas baker situation i think the villagers either did it out of boredom or she was a spy
2 and 3 are very very weak possibilities. I doubt she or most of the villagers even know who Ashley was, let alone care enough to risk their lives to save her??
Maybe she wasn't infected with the Las Plaga and saw what was going on in the village and wanted to call for help but was caught and killed in the attempt to escape. So I believe the first option is possible. I am sure not all villagers agreed with Méndez and Saddler's decision to change their religious beliefs. This is evident in the ending credits with the drawings of a man who is strapped on a chair and is forced injected with a needle by two people.
Its actually part of the lore dude. You can read it in the journals found IG. There was huge in fighting. All the way until Leon got there pretty much.
2:09 I like to think that they put this here to show that they still kill women, since Leon is like “no sex discrimination, must find her (Ashley)!!” to show that they aren’t afraid to kill Ashley if they wanted or needed to. It’s like “dude, hurry up” Edit: kind of unrelated to the video, but aren’t the ganados like, mind controlled by the cult? Like literal mind control? I’m pretty sure they are just under the influence, but idk, I vaguely remember them being mind controlled from some weird stinky powers
I remember that the warehouse where you fight Mendez is used to “ enlighten betrayers” whatever that means so it’s plausible a faction of them were a bit more resistant to the Plaga parasite. Also in other RE games, certain people were resistant to the T Virus or other viruses
2:41 "i can't believe this. these are all dead people." leon. the first time i played this, i was rather unnerved. it made me think of what happened before leon arrived.
It's a mystery of the dead woman but who knows maybe she had the parasite removed? she could have tried to escape & word got out quickly. The villagers are still aware knowing that they are controlled by the parasite that they fear leaving do to death bying on the table at all times. It can be the reason she tried to escape the village. Knowing how many people died raises suspicion of what really went down for this type of act to happen. Maybe thief played a big role that hasn't been solved. knowing that we can find item's outside of the map. One item is unusable it can only be picked up & examined.
The dead bodies are probably the aftermath of Luis and whatever he was up to before Leon got there. Just a thought that kinda makes sense since he’s a native to the village and he references his experience with them to Leon in cut scenes throughout the game
If Merchant is anything to go by it could be that some people who get infected are able to maintain their own free will in spite not having a control plaga or, perhaps, the plaga doesn't form/assimilate properly and thus you get the benefits of the plaga but none of the drawbacks
@Radical Larry I've always thought controls were fine as they were. Even with both RE5 and Revelations 2, I still play them with RE4 type controls. It would make the game much better if they simply added in different melee combo styles and the ability to walk as you're aiming, while making the enemies a bit more tougher to further balance things out.
Since the kill is so fresh, I had always assumed that she had tried to run and either warn Leon and the two cops. Or perhaps she was running to them in hopes of a rescue.
kfjfk i got the ps2 essentials collection for my birthday when i was like 12. i’d watched my sister play re4 every now and then but i never watched her play the whole thing, so when i played re4 for myself i was genuinely terrified and had no idea what to expect. when i made it to the little shack with the dead woman in it, i was more focused on breaking the boxes and picking up items than anything else so when i finally turned around, i was face to face with her impaled corpse and i screamed 💀
I like to think Luis killed her trying to escape with the sample, and his "I think Leon is better with the ladies" line isn't referencing Ada. But it's a subtle nod to this woman and almost an inside joke with himself to help calm his nerves after having to kill in such a brutal up close fashion. I feel like it would fit with his cavalier attitude...probably not, but mabye ;)
Back then I suspected that their dead might have been killed by the two police officers who maybe put down a fight before being killed themselves, and that the one they threw on the lake managed to stay alive for a little longer and that's why you don't see both being burned together. But nowadays I don't think there might have been enough time for all that to happen in the short time Leon took to go from the cabin to the town.
I never thought about it this deep or from this angle - I always just assumed that the heightened aggression caused by the Plagas caused little offenses and slights to drive people to murder or the feelings of aggression built up to a point that was irresistible and they lost control of themselves and started attacking each other until the rage was satiated.
I been playing this game for close to 10+ years, I even bought it again for ps4, disc and digital version, I love this game I'm a lowlife at it, I think this was Bitorez Mendez, Isabella probably stole meager coins, he grabbed her by the neck, lifted her to his eye level, pitchfork in right hand, *THUWK* "Vamonos" he motions for 3 other Ganados to follow him back to village center
the first time you play residentevil4 right before you walk into that hut/cabin there some guys on a hill watching and when you get close enough to see them and they see you they run off and it's implyed that they ran to tell the villagers but... i have an idea that the 3 guys that ran off might have something to do with it.
RE5’s Virus in the African marshlands is said to cause extreme aggression and anger during the initial stages. This is documented in a child from the village’s diary. His tribe fought amongst themselves so maybe something similar happened with Las Plagas?
My opinion on this, is when she saw that they were putting the policeman on the stake setting him ablaze 🔥 she was against it and speaking for him saying that he doesn’t deserve to die like that… she started to fight for him and started using the pitchfork that you see in her face when Leon finds her.. and turning it against her own people they ended up grabbing it from her, and they ended up killing her too in the process… using her own pitchfork embedded interface.
Respect for not just outright calling it fact. I honestly feel like it's all for atmosphere even though it's very plausible, but most people just stand tall without question on these things.
I simply think that they were either killed by accident while building, or they were used as test subjects to try new bow or maybe some of the plagas do not make it and die failing to take control of a host.
Under my consideration I think the woman tried to help Ashley to get out of there, where the villagers caught them both and killed the woman and took Ashley back to the church.
Late but perhaps she gained control of her Plaga or got the wrong type of Plaga? The leaders sensed this and didn't want any challenge to their rule so they swiftly called for her execution? Another thing I thought of is, perhaps she hid all this time but eventually got caught? Additionally, she may have been newly infected and decided to run for it before it was too late.
I feel that like with any infection/virus there are people who are immune or at least resistant to it. I mean it took awhile to infect Leon and Ashley and still it was minimal. So I think the villagers killed under the order of the cult leaders to get rid of the few who could resist the parasite. Who knows they could've had them captive before they killed them. And Leon just happened to show up on execution day or at least close to it 😂

For me the Lady was probably trying to escape, like you said once news of Leon arrival she saw it as a chance to escape. Where she died looks like an outpost so maybe she was looking out with another villager, tried to kill him to escape but was overpowered and killed. For the corpse cart i think they where killed trying to train the Gigantes. They are placed on what seems like a farm so maybe they thought "hey free compost"
Actually the cart with corps becomes empty after they come to life when leon returns to the farm at night, I believe they die after getting the plaga and then they come back to life
I have 2 theories about the dead villager corpses. 1st - They are the bodies of the citizens that were not strong enough to handle the effects of las plagas. They either died directly as a result of the parasite taking over or killed for not being an ideal host for the hive mind. There’s a file that explained, at the beginning stages of the incident, most villagers did not survive the transition process of the parasite. Of these victims, most were Children, Elderly, Female or had long term health problems. Which is why majority of the infected in the village are Young to middle aged, Males. When they realised every child infected with the parasite died, they stopped using them as hosts & instead opted to just outright kill them. So it’s possible the same thing happened with the female citizens & the corpse impaled is just an unfortunate victim to this fate, deemed to be an unsuitable host. 2nd - The female corpse may have been, just another infected before she died. The reason for her being killed & put on display in such a brutal manner, may have been an instruction given to the others by Saddler. The point of it being, to send Leon a message that he means business.
From what I remember in playing the game, that dead woman in that small cabin has no other epistolary clue, unless we count the numerous other epistolary clues from the village only, we can infer what had happened to her. I've only gotten the theory that the Plagas isn't as strong at all and she was trying to escape in this video. Her fate is similar to the other Ganados whose corpses are in places where they were in a process of being dumped after they appeared to have been murdered, but by who I don't know. The dead monks below the floor trap in the Castle has an epistolary clue that sheds light on a rebellious group within the castle and the consequences that happened. As we progress, whenever there are bodies of Ganados that have died that clues us in they weren't done by Leon, some gives us clues through imagery or the epistolary clues. But the dead woman in the small cabin is so specific. She isn't dumped amongst the other bodies and she was nowhere where their B.O.W.s are kept, nor was there any clue to her rebellious trait and was trying to escape, which is still a possibility but we have no proof. Was it a skirmish between one Ganado to another? Is it the Plagas wearing off and thus is killed? Or.... Maybe she was killed to become a set piece, a meta-fictional trope, done by the villagers to intimidate Leon and in this case the player, and of course, developed that way by the game developers?🤔 Ahhh RE4..... 💖
I feel like if they were trying to make an example out of that first impaled villager, they would have strung her up in the village square, not tucked away in a shack
Perhaps some people's bodies reject the plagas outright and it is essentially ejected from the body or sent back into a dormant state upon entry or over time.
We need a spin off/remake for this woman, like we get to see the village in normal state, then thing slowly change as the virus appear in the village, the change can be slow, so it's like montser village type of horror story, then we get to try to escape as her, but of course we know the ending of her hetting stabbed to the wall.
I think she was trying to escape but I think the villagers that were all killed, as well as the dead cultists later on, were all infected with the plaga but managed to be lucky enough to control the plaga instead of vice versa, making them a threat to the cult, or by chance they were infected with a dominant plaga, like sadler, krauser, big cheese, or Salazar, and they needed to limit the amount of people who could control the plagas before they learned how to
I've seen death of people , things forgotten and facts never spoken of....but this one here....RE4...... generation pass by and no one forgets it.....😂❤️
Most likely the lot of the villagers are in a hivemind state and she accepted her death as a warning to all outsiders. Or just there to make the player jump when they turn around in that house. For the cart of people...well. They could of been normal people that wasn't infected and the ones that are took them out. At least they didn't let them go to waste. Feeding their livestock (I think..?) This was a good video. Glad I clicked. I love seeing more RE4 content, its such a great game.
the last plagas dying out or getting weak would be my personal guess, since that could also explain why the merchant doesn't harm you. could also be that maybe some people's bodies react differently to the las plagas?
I always figured the dead woman was killed by either Bitores Mendez, or even Saddler himself as punishment for her not showing the loyalty the rest of the villagers were
Maybe their villagers from a different village that Salazar Took over and he used his controlled Villagers to quickly take over this village and to eliminate the current residents.
At some point in the game, you can find a file titled "Our Plan" written by Saddler where a part of it says: "...for the Plaga reflects the conscience of their hosts. If chosen poorly, they could betray me. I need men who will swear their allegiance to me. I've learned my lesson when Sera betrayed me." As one can see here, Saddler is aware that plaga infection does not necessarily lead to 100% mind control. Some of the infected villagers may have actually never sided with Saddler, but simply could not do anything or escape given that betrayal would spell death at the hands of their own fellow villagers. To augment your theory, it could be that when news broke out among them that Leon was arriving, a number of them tried to take that opportunity to escape, but were unfortunately caught and murdered right before Leon arrived (as shown by the cart full of dead bodies). Maybe that woman made it the farthest, but one ganado caught up to her and killed her (you can actually kill the very same ganado that did her in since he's still with the body when you find him.) This is mere speculation of course, but I think it makes sense. The villagers' fate is tragic indeed.
It wasn't Bitorez Mendez because he snaps necks with ease. He also wants as many Granados as possible against Leon and Luis. Luis and Ada have guns so I doubt they would use a pitchfork. Saddler doesn't like to get his hands dirty and Salazar prefers traps to kill. The Granados themselves burn the corpses or dump them on a pile. They do perform rituals which we see in separate ways so they won't leave her hanging around like that. (No pun intended). And I don't think that it was krauser. There are a few scenarios. Let's assume the theory about luise's grandfather is true and it's the merchant, he knows his way underground but is also a hunter. So maybe it was him. It also explains who's responsible for the bear traps and tripwires. You don't see them in the castle and on the island. The Granados aren't very intelligent because they walk through the tripwires themselves and blow eachother up with dynamite. The merchant helps you out a lot. Maybe he's not luise's grandfather but works for the American government too. He probably got infected but also helped by Luis who didn't mention his connection with Ada. Another possibility is that it was one of the agents from the start. You see one of them burning in the village but you don't see the other one until much later. So maybe he got out alive. Until the ganados killed him at one point.
I remember killing one of the merchants. Just to see if he would disappear. From the game but no only from location. So my brother said this. "Dude imagine if at the end the merchants all came to help. It would be awesome"
As far as I’m aware (it’s been a while since I played it) there’s no time reference as to when everyone has been effected by las plagas and stronger people (like Leon) tend to hold out a bit longer, at the same time it’s expected Ashley would have been taken fairly recently, so it’s possible that the villagers who were taking longer to turn were trying to stop the abduction of Ashley or let her go ect which resulted in them being finished early
If my memory serves me I believe when leon falls down the trap with the spikes at the bottom theres a note explaining why those monks died because they stole that crown I believe I could be wrong though.
My guess on the villagers is some of them resisted the plagas implanted in them and tried escaping. So once caught they were made examples of to the others to stay in line showing them this will be their fate if they push back and the lady in the shed is just one of many.
My guess is Las Plaga control is not absolute, some Plaga grow out of control (into a further stage) and the killed villagers where showing signs of becoming uncontrolable
maybe they are victims of El Grande. then the Ganados give them to the lake monster, as they did with the driver at the beginning of the game. perhaps they will give the dead to the lake monster as an offering.
The egs didn't hatch like happened to many of them Can notice by the color of her eyes And can notice by some of the merchants too (some have human looking eyes and others glown) Can also notice the mutation by the light so lowers the chances of becoming a zombie
I wouldn't be surprised if ganodos harmed one another off screen or lore wise, especially with their naturally aggressive tendencies. And with no one to police them, they can do whatever they want. Humans are likely to get into conflict with one another. Also the pitchfork gives it away. Pretty neat prop by capcom.
Kinda really late to jump into this, but what about the cops? Maybe that's why she was killed recently, they wanted to get a sneaky kill without using bullets. They got 1 or 2 without being noticed but at the end, well
Like the ones you first kill when you play new game. Have you notice that in New game not new game plus when you first cross the bridge after that dead women. You see a couple of men across the bridge on top of the hill pointing then leaving? And In new game plus you don't see them
My theory is maybe she was one of the first to be affected by the plague and they killed her out of paranoia, just like how history shows ppl sacrificed/killed ppl they suspected were witches.
I think it’s a game, just a small detail to make things interesting and scary for no other particular reason than that. Like why would there even be boxes of Amo everywhere in the first place? It’s just part and parcels of a game
When I first played the game I saw the woman and also wondered who killed her. But after beating it I figured out that she was killed by the Chief Mendez, the village chief. I thought exactly the same thing!
Probably because she did not get infected by the Plaga, or this is just a passionate kill

Its actually part of the lore dude. You can read it in the journals found IG. There was huge in fighting. All the way until Leon got there pretty much.
I seem to recall a journal or report even saying with Mendez's death, the villagers are becoming harder to control.
@@livingcorpse5664 thats right! Great read, idk why people dont try too find and read them all.

I like to think that they put this here to show that they still kill women, since Leon is like “no sex discrimination, must find her (Ashley)!!” to show that they aren’t afraid to kill Ashley if they wanted or needed to. It’s like “dude, hurry up”
Edit: kind of unrelated to the video, but aren’t the ganados like, mind controlled by the cult? Like literal mind control? I’m pretty sure they are just under the influence, but idk, I vaguely remember them being mind controlled from some weird stinky powers
Yes, and there's a report you can find saying that with the death of Mendaz, the village leader, the villagers are becoming harder to control.
...maybe she was on her way to find Leon to escape or tell him what is going on, hence the path she is on and how the death was fresh
I remember that the warehouse where you fight Mendez is used to “ enlighten betrayers” whatever that means so it’s plausible a faction of them were a bit more resistant to the Plaga parasite. Also in other RE games, certain people were resistant to the T Virus or other viruses
I always understood “enlighten betrayers” as torture them
@@joshuaturner7343 I always saw it as injecting them with the plagas/exerting dominance with the dominant plaga found in Saddler and others

"i can't believe this. these are all dead people." leon.
the first time i played this, i was rather unnerved. it made me think of what happened before leon arrived.
"I guess those no sex discrimination here"
The dead bodies are probably the aftermath of Luis and whatever he was up to before Leon got there.
I played Cynerpunk for few minutes before crashing , switched to good old Re4 later and got my refund for cyberjunk.
Man so much hype smh probably top 5 flop of all time imo
Merchant just chillin' out at 4:22
I'm pretty excited if the rumors are true for a remake, not that it actually needs one but still I wonder how it'll look in current gen graphics.
What are you talking about XD
Back then I suspected that their dead might have been killed by the two police officers who maybe put down a fight before being killed themselves, and that the one they threw on the lake managed to stay alive for a little longer and that's why you don't see both being burned together. But nowadays I don't think there might have been enough time for all that to happen in the short time Leon took to go from the cabin to the town.
Hey! This is the first video i saw of yours, You're really good, and funny. Gonna put Autoplay on and watch a ton of your videos. Thanx man!
Thank you! :)
@@singleplayernacho Aww Wasn't expecting a reply. 🥰❤️❤️❤️
How do we know she even has the plaga? Maybe she saw what was up and tried to get away? Hid for a while and was killed right before Leon shows up?
I remember watching a different lore theory about RE4, woman and children were used a experiments for the uroboros/las plagas project ‼️👀

First playthrough never saw her second playthrough yep i jumped and said "woah" so that's a fun detail.
the first time you play residentevil4 right before you walk into that hut/cabin there some guys on a hill watching and when you get close enough to see them and they see you they run off and it's implyed that they ran to tell the villagers but... i have an idea that the 3 guys that ran off might have something to do with it.
I got a huge jump scare the first time I saw this.
I simply think that they were either killed by accident while building, or they were used as test subjects to try new bow or maybe some of the plagas do not make it and die failing to take control of a host.
It's so nice to see people are still making content about RE4
Under my consideration I think the woman tried to help Ashley to get out of there, where the villagers caught them both and killed the woman and took Ashley back to the church.
Late but perhaps she gained control of her Plaga or got the wrong type of Plaga? The leaders sensed this and didn't want any challenge to their rule so they swiftly called for her execution? Another thing I thought of is, perhaps she hid all this time but eventually got caught? Additionally, she may have been newly infected and decided to run for it before it was too late.
Realistically, they probably use villager bodies so they don't have to create new assets.
And Leon just happened to show up on execution day or at least close to it 😂
Yes!!!! I Love It! Resident Evil 4 Is My All time Favorite Game! Also SinglePlayerNacho, Along With SwankyBox, Are My Absolute Favorite RUclipsrs That Make Awesome Videos Like These! Keep Up The Awesome Work!
Capcom: add a bunch of corpses to make atmosphere look more scary! Nothing special!
Nacho: it must be something Mysterious behind these corpse!
Or.... Maybe she was killed to become a set piece, a meta-fictional trope, done by the villagers to intimidate Leon and in this case the player, and of course, developed that way by the game developers?🤔
Ahhh RE4..... 💖
I feel like if they were trying to make an example out of that first impaled villager, they would have strung her up in the village square, not tucked away in a shack
It's possible all those dead villagers were killed by Luis. Although I do believe in the theory about a sane woman trying to escape
I think she was trying to escape but I think the villagers that were all killed, as well as the dead cultists later on, were all infected with the plaga but managed to be lucky enough to control the plaga instead of vice versa, making them a threat to the cult, or by chance they were infected with a dominant plaga, like sadler, krauser, big cheese, or Salazar, and they needed to limit the amount of people who could control the plagas before they learned how to
I've seen death of people , things forgotten and facts never spoken of....but this one here....RE4...... generation pass by and no one forgets it.....😂❤️
I've been playing this game since 2004 and have never noticed the cart full of dead granados 😂
Feeding their livestock (I think..?)
This was a good video. Glad I clicked. I love seeing more RE4 content, its such a great game.
Can you talk about re4 treasures and the crown of zalasar i feel like their might be secrets about it as well
the last plagas dying out or getting weak would be my personal guess, since that could also explain why the merchant doesn't harm you. could also be that maybe some people's bodies react differently to the las plagas?
@UCUVST-_kJJIo3k1XY3jKWHQ hmmm no idea what you’re talking about
I always figured the dead woman was killed by either Bitores Mendez, or even Saddler himself as punishment for her not showing the loyalty the rest of the villagers were
Maybe their villagers from a different village that Salazar Took over and he used his controlled Villagers to quickly take over this village and to eliminate the current residents.
At some point in the game, you can find a file titled "Our Plan" written by Saddler where a part of it says:
"...for the Plaga reflects the conscience of their hosts. If chosen poorly, they could betray me.
I need men who will swear their allegiance to me. I've learned my lesson when Sera betrayed me."
As one can see here, Saddler is aware that plaga infection does not necessarily lead to 100% mind control.
Maybe that woman made it the farthest, but one ganado caught up to her and killed her (you can actually kill the very same ganado that did her in since he's still with the body when you find him.)
This is mere speculation of course, but I think it makes sense. The villagers' fate is tragic indeed.
I'm waiting for RE4 remake..
Me too
Nah you're getting Code Veronica
Hey Nacho have you ever considered covering the Dino Crisis series? It’s great
I remember killing one of the merchants.
Love your vids SPN hope you make more vids about RE and the channel grows
I liked to think that they were people who weren't infected. There has to be a handful of them that tried to run and who got caught and slaughtered
maybe they are victims of El Grande. then the Ganados give them to the lake monster, as they did with the driver at the beginning of the game. perhaps they will give the dead to the lake monster as an offering.
Just discovered this channel and its amazing, great content you have here man!
Great video Nacho, love the editing and the camera angles
Finally theory and answer to dead woman that stuck in head since the beginning of game that explains the madness and horror that occurred in the game
The egs didn't hatch like happened to many of them
Can notice by the color of her eyes
And can notice by some of the merchants too (some have human looking eyes and others glown)
Can also notice the mutation by the light so lowers the chances of becoming a zombie
I love mysteries on resident evil, been playing for so long and always wondered things like this,
I wouldn't be surprised if ganodos harmed one another off screen or lore wise, especially with their naturally aggressive tendencies.
I think that body is just a reference to a certain scene from Friday the 13th. I can't remember if it's part 1 or 2.
If this game was made today, I fully believe there would be a DLC of what happened when Saddler carried out his plan.
If it was made today they would have made campaign shorter thanks to low attention span new generation gamers..
Love the vids nacho!
Nice pfp
I was legitimately waiting for this one! 😂😁🔥
Ot could also be that the leaders like to play games and get them to kill each other for survival and or supplies
it's Luis and Ada right? Probably not the pitchfork one. But all the cartfuls could be.
