Lovely home decor. However, I personally don’t prefer putting God idols as decoration pieces. Believe it or not these are divine entities….putting them in places other than mandir….is never progressive….no matter how happy or satisfied you sound…..In drawing- cum- dining spaces people eat all sorts of food….do activities which we don’t do in mandir. This was profoundly disappointing. Mohini's house was RADIANT. It was full of warmth and restrained vibrancy. The colours were JOYOUS but controlled. I had commented on it with great enthusiasm. Now the living room is a vapid and boring bromide. It would pass for the waiting area of some tourist lodge. The old carpet was a masterpiece...the new one is banal, by comparison. The same ideas, the same catch-phrases, that one sees/hears everywhere, which Indians have picked up from outside. E.g. "White and black" are "sophisticated". That's simply not true. CLICHES, like only "neutrals" and "pastels" and above all, WHITE, make for an "elite", "chic" look, are turning painfully repetitive. I, at least, grew up with the exact *opposite* image of the elite, aristocratic look, which was invariably DARK, with rich wooden-brown-yellow tones. Which used *deep* colours, especially red, a mellow yet rich pink/green/blue and gold. Not sure when this White = Elite trend began, but it's turned into an excruciating stereotype *constantly* pushed down our throats. A white, pastel, neutral home CAN undoubtedly look beautiful and many featured on this channel are stunning, but it's only ONE out of many looks. That NO other possibility, palette, look or aesthetic is explored, and we all are *compelled* to stick to ONE formula, that people think colour is "unsophisticated" (!!!!)is honestly disturbing.
